Built with divers' needs in mind, M/Y Black Pearl offers week-long itineraries to Palau, one of the world's top diving destinations. 12 guest cabins cater to 24 guests. Each cabin features twin beds, ensuite bathrooms, AC, and a safety deposit box. The new 200x210cm latex mattresses with 300-thread count Egyptian cotton will submerge guests in luxury and comfort.

Luxurious liveaboard in Palau

The company advertises the live aboard as luxurious.This is absolutely true as for me it was the most luxurious I have been. The boat is new , in a good state and everything works nicely. Organization is timely. The dive site in the outer reef are spectacular.

Awesome liveaboard trip

The Black Pearl is a really special liveaboard boat; we have done 15 liveaboards around the world and this ship is a real stand out. Like a private yacht. The crew are excellent; from Cruise director Mo down to the chefs, house keepers and boat guys. All were extremely attentive and friendly. Great food, great fellow divers and great diving in Palau.

Perfect dive trip!!

I really enjoyed my time on The Black Pearl. It is by far the nicest boat ive been on with comfortable cabins and plenty of shared public areas to relax or socialize in. I approcated that being on a liveaboard gave us the ability to leave earlier in the day, beating out most mainland boats to dive sites and avoiding crowds. We also had the flexibility to vote on changes to the dive schedule if people wanted to repeat sites or go somewhere new. Lastly, the staff were amazing!! Our dive guide Jessie was fantastic! She also has a nearly supernatural ability to find macro stuff on dives. But everyone on the boat really worked together to make sure we had an unforgettable dive. The food was delicious and the service top notch, with a focus on the little details that made the teip feel like a luxury experience. Highly recommend!

Great holiday in Palau

My husband and I had a great holdiay on the boat. Our dive guide is very experienced and planned the dives very well. The bumphead parrot fish spawning is definitely a highlight. The boat is very modern and comfortable.

Will definitely come back during dry season and experience the spawning!

Although there was rain at the beginning of the trip, the last few days with the sun out really make me appreciate the view even more. Even with lower visibility, we still had amazing diving every time with a lot of sharks, turtles and schools of fishes. The crew was always helpful and always listening to our concerns and needs.

Very nice boat and crew.

The MY Black Pearl was a very nice boat with a professional crew. Have been on many liveaboards before, but don’t know if it was calm water but hardly ever notice when this boat was being moved compliments to the crew. Food was a decent selection of mixed cuisine served buffet style, and kitchen was open to and fulfilled special request. Diving however I expected to be better for Palau is a renowned dive location worldwide and I could not say I was totally impressed due to many dive sites with bad visibility. However we did do a couple dives that included some current and did repeat manta cleaning station twice and were lucky to see mantas on both dives. We did not do the highlight dive “Peleliu Express” apparently due to extreme conditions. Overall a very comfortable way to complete 18 dives.

Great Way to Enjoy a Beautiful Place

Very healthy marine life with big fans, sharks and schools of fish. On board, the service from the crew is excellent and the boat is well-equipped for comfort. The vessel does not sail far or move much during the week, unlike liveaboards in other destinations, but it does bring you closer to the dive sites to reduce travelling time. It's more like a floating resort, with speed boats bringing you out to dive.

I was so lucky to spend my birthday vacation at Black Pearl liveaboard. The crew treated me very special. The food quality was good. Excellent level of cleanness. Beautiful rooms and I was able to work out cause they have a rower and a bicycle. Dive sites were wonderful.

Wonderful trip on a super boat with a fabulous crew in a beautiful country that really seems to care about its nature

Many sharks, very healthy coral, mantas with no apparent fishing line injuries, almost no plastic in the water column, Palau really seems to have policies in place that protect their environment. And the boat and crew were wonderful

From pickup to drop-off, an all-round positive travel experience. The crew was always very friendly and helpful. Already knew the wishes and preferences of the guests as well as the names on the second day. Requests were responded to quickly as far as possible. The cabins are spacious and clean. The bathroom was great and thanks to the door on the shower largely dry. For safety, a fire alarm has been rehearsed and fire extinguishers are available everywhere, as well as life jackets. The food was delicious and there was always something different. We dived at the well-known places in Palau: Red Snapper Spawning was a highlight, as was Blue Corner and German Channel. Under water, various sharks could be spotted, large shoals of various fish species and numerous turtles. Unfortunately, we could only see manta rays and dolphins from the boat. But there is never a guarantee for that. Macro is rather scarce in Palau. Instead, blue water, currents, intact reefs with little tourism.

The positive and friendly crew made the trip exciting!

Again, the crew was very helpful. Every time I returned to the ship from a dive, I was happy to be greeted with a cheerful hello.The room was clean every day and new towels were provided and it was comfortable.The chef was Thai and the Asian food was delicious, so I looked forward to the meal every day.I had the best memories!

An Honest Review From a Diver Who’s Done Many Liveaboards

Having done many liveaboards over the years, I try to judge trips realistically rather than emotionally. The crew was friendly and helpful, and the diving operation was organized well most of the time. The dive sites offered a great mix of reefs, strong currents, caves, marine life, and even World War II shipwrecks and aircraft wrecks, which kept the diving exciting and varied throughout the week. The boat was comfortable enough for a long trip, the atmosphere onboard was relaxed, and the food was consistently good with plenty available between dives. One important note for divers visiting Palau for the first time: be prepared for very strong currents at some dive sites. Because of that, I personally would not recommend bringing large camera setups into those conditions. Managing big cameras in heavy current can become difficult and may even risk damaging your equipment. In these situations, I honestly think a small action camera with a stick is the smarter and safer option. Also, using a reef hook is a major part of diving in many Palau sites. The experience can feel strange or difficult at first, but after a few dives it actually becomes very enjoyable. I highly recommend practicing how to properly use a reef hook before traveling to Palau — including where to clip it on your BCD and how to secure yourself correctly without damaging the reef. Like any liveaboard, there were a few small things that could be improved, but overall the trip delivered what I expected and provided a very enjoyable underwater experience.
