Mermaid II Sets Very High Standards for Liveaboards
This was my first liveaboard and it could not have been done better. The trip had a lot of variety in the dive sites with so many bizarre and beautiful critters throughout, from the alien-like animals in the muck to the giant sardine tornado. A lot of the sites had so many different schools of fish that they didn't even need high ticket item sightings to make the dives memorable and amazing. Luca gave very good briefings leaving you prepared for each sight, and was also very funny and made the whole experience very fun for everyone.
Ana was a very attentive and kind guide, and she made me feel as comfortable and safe as possible in confronting my first current dives. I almost got swept away but she was at my side immediately and guided me with such ease. After two current dives I felt so much more comfortable. She also asked us what we wanted to see and was able to spot everything - even though nature cannot guarantee everything!
The boat divides everyone into small groups so you feel really safe and aren't overcrowded. It was great to see guides helping each other underwater to make sure each group got to see some of the most sought after sightings too.
The boat was also very comfortable thanks to the crew's amazing service. They handled everything and made you feel like royalty. Everyone was super friendly.

A stunning introduction to Liveaboards and the Coral Triangle
Almost too many to mention , so many firsts!! Dropping into shotgun and the cauldron as a hegative entry yhen flying through and hanging on to watch a Manta show you how to deal with current! Dropping into turtle city at dusk to find too msny turtles to count, just chilling on the bottom then night dives with octopi , pegasus fish, frogfish and soooo many more. Finally the escort of dolphins as we headed back to Bali. Even the seasoned liveaboarders were impressed! Thankyou Ulrich and the crew for a fantastic time.

Amazing trip
This was our first liveaboard experience and we can not wait until the next. Mermaid 2 will be hard to beat. Our dive master, Bram, was the best. He always found wonderful creatures and created awe inspiring experiences (the manta cleaning station, and the sea snake viewing). Our cruise director, Luca, was great and ran a smooth trip. He even arranged for us to visit a tiny village and meet some of the locals. We made lifelong memories and friends on this trip.

See above. The diversity and superabundance of the fish and coral life is beyond description. We were lucky to have lots of sunshine and calm seas too, though there were strong currents in some places - the full moon rising as we got ready for our night dives was an awesome sight. The great synergy between the all the guests and the crew on this trip also made this a very memorable trip for us. Keep up the great teamwork!! We'll be back!

Happy to see healthy vibrant reefs, saw everything from large pelagics like manta rays to tiny little creatures during muck dives; we lucked out with the weather and saw beautiful sunsets and starry nights; the crew was so friendly and helpful, they definitely added a lot to the overall experience; also lucked out and made some new diving buddies aboard! All in all an amazing liveaboard experience I'd recommend!

The diving in komodo has something for everybody. Bigger things like mantas and sharks to corals and macrodiving. The crew on the boat made the experience ten times better. Always greeting us with a smile and cheers after every dive. The diving groups are small which gives the possibility to discuss preferences with your dive guide. The land visit made a nice break from the boat life, and we were lucky to see a handful of komodo dragons on our visit. Would recommend everybody to do a trip with Mermaid II.
