Great journey from Raja Ampat to Ambon
I had a wonderful trip from Raja Ampat to Ambon. The boat is really nice, the dive sites were great with a wide range of marine life and corals, and the staff members work very hard to give you an awesome time on board.

Mermaid I solid dive Liveaboard to go with!
Verry clean boat! Had a conscientious trip leader who always coordinated with other boats dive schedule at sites. Definitely appreciated the long 70+ min dive times. Great diving in Komodo
Great diving in the Komodo area, the reefs are very healthy and there is a good abundance of fish, turles and reef sharks. The boat is very comfortable and the crew is smiling and kind. There is a very good local dive guide on board (Rama) and it was great diving with him. Food was usually very food. Great stable boat to dive this area where the waters can be rough.

Absolutely Fabulous!
My daughter and I went on the Mermaid 1 for a 10 day trip to Komodo. Everyone involved was genuinely friendly, fun, helpful, informative, and hard working! The entire dive crew were awesome! Everyone was quick to help you with all the diving details - from getting ready (zipping wetsuits), locating gear, getting on the dingy (Helping get on and putting your fins on for you), getting into the dingy after the dive, and getting off the dingy (Unzipping, Cleaning your wetsuit and gear). The diving itself was obviously fantastic. The food was delicious! It was obvious that everyone genuinely wanted every guest to be happy and have the best time in all facets of the trip! I highly recommend!

Amazing First-Time LiveAboard Experience
Being pampered was an unexpected luxury that set the bar pretty high for future dive trips... the crew was amazing! Swimming with Manta Rays, Whale Sharks, Reef Sharks, Sting Rays, Seahorses, and the thousand species of fish was an unforgettable experience! Hanging out with Komodo Dragons was also a plus! The Mermaid I and her crew WILL NOT disappoint!! Highly recommended by this first-time LiveAboard diver!!

Highly recommended Komodo trip in June-July
I did a "Bali-Komodo-Bali" liveaboard with Mermaid I from 23rd June to 2nd July and it was great. The staff looks after you with maximum care: they provide fresh towels after every dive, they offer drinks after every dive, they clean your suit after every dive, they measure the Nitrox for you, they clean the rooms every day, they serve you in the restaurant. The boat is kept nice and clean, the food is good quality and quantity. In terms of dives: we saw the whales sharks in the Saleh Bay, mantas in South Komodo, some reef sharks, one eagle ray and plenty of beautiful corals. There are a lot of dives dedicated to "macro" marine life and be ready to have fun with some drift dives also. In summary: Komodo will offer literally a bit of everything that a diver can wish.

I had an amazing time diving with mermaid 1. Seeing the mantas was a great experience. The dive guides were very knowledgeable. I was well looked after by the crew members and they were all very friendly and helpful.

Flawless liveaboard in pristine Raja Ampat
From start to finish, this was an extraordinary experience! 29 dives on pristine dive sites with unparalleled marine life diversity. I had the great pleasure of being assigned resident videographer Marcelo as my dive guide. His passion and knowledge of all things great and small in the ocean really enhanced my experience and raised my game as a diver and UW photographer. I dived with the other guides as well and they were all exceptional. During the 8 days of diving we encountered all kinds of macro life imaginable, along with manta rays, sharks, wobbegongs, enormous schools of barracudas and so on. Diving in the mangroves was a definite highlight. Boat operation is flawless, with an exceptionally friendly crew going the extra mile to ensure a great dive experience, such as dry towels and hot drinks after dives. Very much appreciated. A special shoutout to the cooks onboard who prepared plentiful and varied meals and snacks which were delicious regardless if it was Asian or Western food. The boat itself is in very good condition and the cabins are very comfortable. All in all, I had an awesome experience onboard Mermaid I and I cannot wait to return to explore other parts of Indonesia.

Awesome crew with AMAZING diving.
The highlight of the trip was 3 divers, including myself, spending 20 minutes within touching distance with an enormous Oceanic Manta Ray on my birthday. Amazing, awesome and incredible don't even begin accurately describe the feelings you get when you are in the presence of such a beautiful creature.
Recommended for
Diving in Raja Ampat is rated #1 in the world for a reason. The crew on the Mermaid treated us like family and the great food was never ending.

Hammerhead Experience
The highlight of our trip were seeing hammerhead sharks. Seeing a Mandarin fish and finding a lacey Rhionpias. Spending time with the family while diving.

the best of Raja Ampat and Banda Sea
Overall I had a great time diving with Mermaid. The boat is really nice, double cabins really comfortable, aircond working great. The food selection was very good. Dive guides very professional and dive sites well selected. The only drawback for me were the 2 land excursions, which meant we did only 2 dives on these 2 days, plus the 2 the mug dives & macro in Ambon on the last day were not really good. So for me, we could have done instead 4 proper dives. But, again overall it was great experience.

A magical 10 day diving holiday
This was one of the most amazing diving trips. Everything underwater is stunning. nothing disappoints. Te staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. I am unable to lift a tank due to back problems. They helped me every time. They also take excellent care of the equipment after dives by rinsing and hanging our wetsuits to dry and at the end of the trip cleaning and drying our BCDs and regulators as well. The reason I gave this 4* on cabin comfort is that I prefer to have the shower cubicle separate from the toilet. You get used to it after a while but it is not ideal.

A great Raja Ampat trip
We've done both Komodo (2019) and Raja Ampat (2025) on the Mermaid I and we've enjoyed both trips very much! Super easy logistics, towels and drinks after each dive (and hot drinks after each night dive!). Long 70 minute dives (60 for night dives) with 4 divers per guide. A plus that they now have Starlink internet also!

Great trip to a fantastic location with a great crew
This was my first liveaboard experience since 1990 and it was an amazing trip. The level of service by the crew, both for the diving operation and for the overall comfort of the passengers was great. The crew was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, the food was good and plentiful, Cabins were comfortable and clean, dive briefings were very good and helpful (as an instructor I have a certain professional appreciation for this) and the dive operation was great. As an example, the oxygen percentage of the nitrox varied minimally (between 32.1 and 32.5). The dive sites were spectacular, more so in the Missool area than in the north and the amount of wildlife we saw was the best I have ever seen. I would do the trip on the Mermaid again in a heartbeat.
