Highlights
Bajak is a newly renovated boat that brings forth a pirate-like atmosphere while maintaining modern-day comforts for 14 guests. The living space consists of 4 air-conditioned cabins: 1 master cabin with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, and 3 shared cabins with 4 bunk beds and 2 shared bathrooms. Made mostly from ironwood and teakwood salvaged from decommissioned boats, the Bajak operates as a liveaboard boat in the beautiful setting of the Komodo National Park and offers access to one of the richest marine environments in the world, including stunning coral reefs, seagrass beds, seamounts, pinnacles, dramatic walls, overhangs, semi-enclosed bays, and Komodo Dragons.
The exterior features a spacious, shaded deck ideal for dive preparation, as well as an unshaded rooftop equipped with comfortable bean bags and sun mattresses, perfect for tanning and relaxation. The dining table is set right in the open galley. Additionally, there is a furnished undercover space primed for relaxing and keeping cool.
The itineraries can be set to meet everyone’s picture of a perfect holiday. Complementary to diving are surfing, sailing, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding. Guided walks on the local islands are also possible, allowing one to see the notorious Komodo dragon. Komodo offers some of the best diving in the world, with dive sites such as Manta Point, Batu Balong, and Batu Tiga. The reserve is teeming with diversity. Dugongs, manta rays, white-tip reef sharks, and hawksbill turtles are just a few residents. There is also the option to do your advanced diving course on-site.

Challenging diving that felt safe and fun

Great time at the Bajak liveaboard and Pygmy seahorse!
Just amazing. Can’t recommend it enough. The dive guides did an amazing job. They found just about everything I wanted to see. Helped me spot things and made me feel safe even in strong currents. They handled everything so well. The crew was funny and friendly. They really made sure there were good vibes on the boat. They also helped out so much with the diving gear and made everything run smoothly. I was so worried about the weather since it was rainy season, but we barely got any rain.

Our guide did his best to make us enjoy each dive.The Chef prepares the best food.Pretty good moments at night at the boat playing guitar and singing with the crew.

These were 4 days to never forget.
It was a great experience. We were very lucky with our very nice co-guests and with the great crew. The diving was very professionally guided, with honest descriptions of what challenges to expect. Fantastic food. Perfect and secure care for getting back safely after diving or snorkling, the gear, the tanks, the boat, the cleaning. We noticed a hard working crew with a great sense of humor and much care for each other and for us. And we had so much fun, we laughed a lot playing games and joking about everything.

A great journey through the beautiful Komodo
The dives through an incredible number of fish and the long observation of the manta rays were fantastic. The shore excursions were a perfect complement and showcased the beauty of Komodo. The crew always tried to give everyone the best possible experience. They all do a great job.

Transformative trip; extraordinary marine environment, fabulous friendly people -
A transformative experience. The most beautiful environment above and below the water; more fish than I have ever seen before, amazing coral reefs; multiple viewings of the magnificent manta rays and the most friendly, enthusiastic and helpful dive masters and crew you could possibly want. Not to mention the mix of international guests who were all delightful. A total treat. Scuba Republic run a highly professional, safe, affordable and enjoyable diving experience. I had 3 nights/4 days on board Bajak around the Komodo Islands and although I am relatively new to diving with still a lot to learn, and confidence to build, all my needs and concerns were taken care of moment by moment. My dive master was there for me all the way. If the dive was going to be too challenging for me, I would either snorkel or relax on the deck and enjoy the scenery instead. Yunus, the dive director, was not only extremely experienced but a bundle of laughs too. Takim the chef kept us so well fed - it was impossible to resist his delicious food.. the captain knew his boat and the islands, Bajak was well built and comfortable. To my surprise there was even wifi! I was both the granny of the trip – 20-30 yrs older than all the other guests,(!) and the baby in terms of diving experience and I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this trip to anyone who is after a unique underwater experience in one of the most beautiful unspoilt areas of the world.
