Highlights
Bajak is a newly renovated boat that brings forth a pirate-like atmosphere while maintaining modern-day comforts for 12 guests. Made mostly from ironwood and teakwood salvaged from decommissioned boats, the Bajak operates as a liveaboard boat in the beautiful setting of the Komodo National Park and offers access to one of the richest marine environments in the world including stunning coral reefs, seagrass beds, seamounts, pinnacles, dramatic walls, overhangs, semi-enclosed bays, and Komodo Dragons. The exterior offers a spacious, shaded deck for dive preparation and access to an unshaded rooftop with comfortable bean bags and sun mattresses for tanning and relaxing. The dining table is set right in the open galley. The living space consists of 4 air-conditioned cabins: 1 cabin with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom and 3 shared cabins with 4 bunk beds and 2 shared bathrooms. Additionally, there is a furnished undercover space primed for relaxing and keeping cool.
The itineraries can be set to meet everyone’s picture of a perfect holiday. Complementary to diving are surfing, sailing, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding. Guided walks on the local islands are also possible, allowing one to see the notorious Komodo dragon. Komodo offers some of the best diving in the world, with dive sites such as Manta Point, Batu Balong, and Batu Tiga. The reserve is teeming with diversity. Dugongs, manta rays, white-tip reef sharks, and hawksbill turtles are just a few residents. There is also the option to do your advanced diving course on-site. Fantastic diving, amazing crew, great atmosphere.
This liveaboard is excellent value for money. It goes without saying that the diving in Komodo is world-class (every dive was mind-blowing), but what made this a very special trip was the kindness and approachability of the dive and boat crew. The dive crew was incredibly knowledgable about the dive sites, which paid off because some were quite technical and had strong currents which, in the wrong hands, could have made for poor or difficult dives. The accommodation is okay - you get what you pay for at this price point, so it's fairly no-frills - but it adds to the atmosphere of a Robinson Crusoe/pirate ship vibe. The food was plentiful and on the whole great, with a good mix of Western and Indonesian. I would highly recommend Scuba Republic in general and this boat in particular if you want a fun, friendly time on the boat on the an incredible time under the water.

Best cruise to enjoy Komodo!
Our guide did his best to make us enjoy each dive. The Chef prepares the best food. Pretty good moments at night at the boat playing guitar and singing with the crew.
