The Explorer 1 is a Catamaran specially designed for remote diving expeditions in the Seychelles. Accommodating up to 6 divers, the Explorer 1 offers comfort and personalized service for both recreational and technical diving adventures. There are 3 cabins on board: Aldabra, a master cabin featuring twin beds with a private bathroom and toilet; Granite, a cabin with twin beds; and Amirantes, a cozy cabin with two single bunk beds. Amenities include adjustable air conditioning, Wi-Fi (except on remote islands), USB outlets, and entertainment options such as music and video.
The Explorer 1 is committed to sustainability and adopts a zero-waste approach by providing eco-friendly toiletries and eliminating single-use plastics. The boat uses 100% organic products for cleaning and maintenance, respecting the local ecosystem. Safety is paramount, and the Explorer 1 features an oxygen therapy station and a hyperbaric decompression chamber. The highly qualified crew is trained in emergency response.

Great small-group liveaboard
The liveaboard with Explorer 1 was great. Since we were only three divers with three crew on the boat, the service was very personal and always adapted to the external conditions (swell, weather, diving conditions). From dive guide Joey to Captain Sparrow to cook Rosie, this was a great team. Thank you very much for the great week.

Diving in the Seychelles
The trip was wonderful, diving was OK (water visibility was not the greatest). Our dive guide was very energetic and friendly but he was a little to focused on attracting sharks EVERY dive that we (or at least I felt) were very rushed over reefs and general beauty. The food was great and the chef very talented. The whole trip was very relaxed and FUN.

Great dive spots
Great divespots with schools of fish on a dizzying scale. Super friendly crew. Partly remote diving areas. Amirantes was not approached on this trip after all.

Cruising is not fun!
Not comfortable boat. A/C announced and decompression chamber missing. 1 small toilet and spartan shower cabin for 7 people. A cook who is not very invested and who is satisfied with the minimum. Canned fruit for dessert at the 1st dinner ... no comfortable place to relax....expensive for the service offered. Let's stay on a positive note, very easy dives and rich in biodiversity. Very nice support during these. The captain of the boat was on top! Nice continuation to Kalil and Lana.
