Highlights

  • Small dive groups for a personalized experience
  • Spacious dive deck with equipment storage
  • Traditional phinisi experience

The Jaya Phinisi Indonesia offers liveaboard dive trips to Raja Ampat from November to May and Komodo from late June to late September. Raja Ampat itineraries visit some of the best areas in the region, including Arborek Island, Penemu, Kawe, Gam, and Mioskon, with the chance of up to 4 dives per day. In the heart of the Coral Triangle, Raja Ampat should be at the top of any diver's bucket list. Komodo itineraries explore world-class dive sites, and an additional option for Rinca for trekking to see Komodo Dragons. Dive groups are kept small - max 4:1, to ensure everyone gets the best out of their Indonesia liveaboard. The dive deck has space for all divers, plus areas to store fins, masks, and wetsuits. There are also freshwater containers for cameras and torches, and the experienced crew is always on-hand with a smile to help out when needed.

The 23m Jaya caters to 14 guests in 7 cabins on the lower deck. There are 4 twin cabins with 2 shared bathrooms, 2 double ensuite cabins, and 1 double with a single ensuite, all with AC, charging sockets, fresh towels, and bedding. The twin cabins are mixed-gender shared (gender neutral). The upper deck has shaded space for relaxing in-between dives and enjoying the stunning Raja Ampat scenery, and the sun deck is equipped with bean bags.

Lots of current in Komodo. The guides kept us safe, had great fun and found amazing fish and critters. Each day flowed smoothly, dives were excellent. Looking forward to the Jaya again.

Amazing trip to Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat was amazing - huge schools of fish, manta, pristine coral, reef sharks, etc. Jaya is fairly basic but functional, well kept and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay/dive on Jaya again!

We had an amazing time!

The service provided aboard the Jaya is amazing. All of the crew, the dive masters, etc. are all about taking care of the guests. The boat is well-maintained and has good spaces for relaxing, playing games, etc. The food is absolutely amazing. And of course diving Raja Ampat is a delight and the dive sites were well chosen.

Great budget LOB option

Pros: - Excellent dive guides (Rachel and Erika) who were experienced, empathetic and perfectly balanced friendly/professional. They were very knowledgeable about diving and every dive site, patient with questions and needs of divers of different levels. I felt very safe with them and 2 female leads are a nice perk as a solo female traveller! - F&B was varied and took into account dietary requirements. There are soft drinks/beers you can purchase on board. Generally delicious Indonesian dishes with rice/noodles, meats and veg. We also had snacks between dives, never went hungry! - Boat was spacious with enough lounging areas (indoor/outdoor) to suit a larger group Cons: - Shower set up in the en suite is a bum gun with fixed pressure rather than a shower head. Good for rinsing off, less so for a shower. FYI: - Komodo dragon visit isn't included as part of the trip and we did it as an exception (thank you team!). It is an excursion pre/post trip but you will need to have a night in Labuan Bajo to do that. It was good to see the dragons, but not at all a highlight, especially compared to the incredible dives we had.

The Komodo Trip on Jaya was amazing!!!

Great visibility on the dives with heaps of marine life with really rich species diversity. Saw heaps of sharks, turtles, mantas, nudibrancs, fish, shells, cuttleslfish and even some seahorses and a wonderpus. The divemasters were really professional and helpful but also really friendly and fun to hang out with. The local crew is huge and took care of everything. There was no mucking around with divemasters gear the crew looked after it and had it set up ready for each dive. The food was great with 3 hot meals a day ready after the dives. Crew were super helpful with anything I needed and the vessel is clean and tidy. Definitely recommend Jaya!!! If doing the trip just double check your local SIM card coverage because Indonesia has different networks and a local SIM from Bali wouldn't work in Komodo nor would international roaming on an Australian SIM.
