Highlights
The M/V Hondius Cruise Ship was built in 2019 to meet the standards for ice-strengthened vessels and the dedicated criteria for environmental friendliness as outlined in the Polar Code. This Polar Class 6 vessel accommodates 170 passengers in 83 cabins, divided into grand and junior suites, as well as superior, deluxe, window, and porthole cabins. The cabins are painted with biodegradable paint and feature steam heating, LED lighting, and ample storage space. Varied performances, workshops, presentations, and exhibitions are open to participation in the lecture room and the observation lounge. The panoramic windows in the observation lounge, the stocked bar, and nourishing meals for diverse appetites are a sample of what is available to enjoy throughout the trip.
Aboard the M/V Hondius, the itineraries are structured to meet the needs of first-time explorers who want to learn and rediscover the stars without light pollution, as well as interact with various albatrosses and penguins. The Hondius also caters to the needs of the adrenaline-chasers who want to go camping, mountaineering, hiking, and kayaking. The fleet of zodiacs ensures a safe and speedy arrival on-shore and the return to uncompromising comfort aboard the Hondius. Every itinerary offers many activities, whether whale-watching at a moment’s notice or the observation of at least six different species of penguins up close while cruising through the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula.

Once in a lifetime experience
Highly recommend this trip! Well organized, active, and personalizable. The zodiac cruises and landings were phenomenal, and camping was a huge bonus! The expedition guides and staff couldn’t have been better, and the ship size and layout was perfect. I left feeling like I was really able to explore and get to know Antarctica and all the wildlife that reside there.

Adventure Cruise Expedition to Antarctica
This trip exceeded the best expectations. It was well worth the time spent on Drake's passage round trip. Once in Antarctica the silence, the fabulous landscapes, the contrast of the sea with the ice, the blue of the icebergs, the snowy mountains and the majestic glaciers are breathtaking. Then marine life is the icing on the cake: penguins, whales, seals, sea lions, right next door. A life experience with memories that will be forever very present.

Seamless landings with great staff. We were always on alternative options due to the weather, but the organisation was top class.

One of life's biggest self-challenges!
In the face of the ice and snow in Antarctica, I mustered up the courage to jump into the cold and biting Antarctic ocean twice to swim, perhaps moved the penguins, and they swam with me, which will never be forgotten!
