Grand Discovery is a 45-meter liveaboard (launched December 2025) offering accommodation for up to 36 guests across 24 cabins. This includes 18 air-conditioned twin cabins with en-suite bathrooms, as well as 4 elegant master suites on the high deck—2 of which are equipped with a minibar.
The Grand Discovery features a salon divided into a lounge with plush sofas and a fully stocked bar, and a separate dining space where guests enjoy buffet-style meals. The cuisine onboard blends international and regional flavors, served in a friendly, social setting ideal for divers unwinding after an adventure-filled day. Additional relaxation areas include two shaded sundecks—one with a bar—and a skydeck with a Jacuzzi offering sweeping views. A large TV, music system, and a small library provide entertainment between dives.
Itineraries aboard the Grand Discovery explore Egypt’s iconic dive regions: Northern Wrecks, Ras Mohamed, Tiran, Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone, Zabargad, and St. John’s. These trips feature legendary sites like the SS Thistlegorm, Giannis D, SS Carnatic, and the reef-draped walls of Daedalus and Big Brother, home to sharks, gorgonians, and historic wrecks. Whether you're drawn to coral gardens, WWII wrecks, or thrilling drift dives with hammerheads, this vessel delivers unforgettable Red Sea dive experiences across northern and southern routes.

A great diving trip on a very comfortable boat
Our BDE tour took place in January 2026. Since the Grand Discovery was not launched until December 2025, this was one of the first safaris of the Grand Discover. The brand new boat is very spacious. It holds a maximum of 36 guests in 18 cabins, we were only 15 divers. So plenty of space for everyone. But because of the size, you probably have enough space when it's fully occupied. The dive deck and dive platform offer plenty of space, a charging station and fresh water tanks are of course available, as well as hot showers on the platform. The crew helps with dressing and undressing, you don't even have to unscrew the first step from the bottle yourself, that is also done. The cabins are reasonably sized. It is pleasant that the shower and toilet are separated from each other by a shower curtain. The air conditioning can be regulated in each cabin and can also be switched off completely. The cabins were cleaned daily and were always clean and well maintained. The kitchen crew conjured up a varied and excellent meal on the table. We were lucky with the weather, for January it was reasonably warm and not too windy. On the reefs, we were always the only liveaboard boat (!). At the Brothers we made a total of six dives and were 'greeted' by at least one Longimanus at the entrance. The two guides Peter and Mohamed also do a really good job. In a quite detailed briefing at the beginning of the trip, the various processes on the boat and in the water are explained. During the briefings for each dive, various plans are discussed, according to which the diving group then follows in case of possibly changing conditions. The two Zodiacs have ladders for boarding, which are used with the equipment (BDC with bottle). Divers who find the equipment too heavy to exit via the ladder will have their equipment removed in the water and brought onto the Zodiac so that the diver can use the ladder comfortably. All in all, an excellent trip, even if a few small things are still missing on the boat, such as sliding seating, beanbags or the like on the sun decks.I will definitely put the Grand Discovery on my 'wish list' for another safari.

very nice discovery of the Red Sea
Very nice discovery of the Red Sea. Boat, very comfortable, quality food and staff always taking care. The only thing missing was a more reliable internet connection when we went out to sea. There were sometimes a little too many of us in the diving groups.

Great first live aboard experience
The dive guides and experience was way better than I was expecting. Although we did not see any sharks, the diving experience was great and well planned. Im not sure how long the boat will last since it seems to have several issues for being new, but everything was addressed by the crew.

First liveaboard........but definitely not for the last time
Apart from the non-pick-up at the airport, everything was perfect. The crew, the dive guides, the boat, the route...... and the fantastic underwater world including a whale shark that said hello to us.

An excellent liveaboard with great diving, an exceptional guide, and a friendly crew that made the whole trip fun and comfortable
Overall, it was a fantastic liveaboard experience. The diving was excellent and very well organized, with great briefings and support throughout the trip. Guide Peter was thorough, patient, and exceptional, making every dive both enjoyable and informative. Highlights included the amazing marine life, relaxed atmosphere on board, and the friendly, helpful, and fun crew who made everyone feel welcome. The boat was comfortable and well set up, which made the whole trip smooth and relaxing between dives. A great experience from start to finish.

Very good diving with a professional and friendly crew.
The service was top quality the whole time. The itinerary had to be changed due to a wind storm, but this is understandable (and desirable) because the captain and crew will always prioritize the safety of the passengers. The alternative itinerary was still enjoyable. The instructors were always present and coordinated every dive with great detail. I was hoping to see more sharks/pelagic in this itinerary, but this depends mostly on luck and the guides did their best to take us to the interesting locations. Food was not "mind blowing" (as I have experienced in other liveaboards) but the buffet was very abundant and varied so I can't really complain about it. The only coffee included is the "instant" kind, I would love to see brewed coffee as included. Dinner on the last night and breakfast on the last morning were included, this is a huge plus point when compared to other liveaboard operators who don't offer this. The ship is luxurious though I noticed the electricity shutting down a couple of times per day, this would last less than a minute so I guess it is not a big deal. The cabins are clean and comfortable. The crew was assisting me up until the moment I got on the (included) transportation to the airport. I recommend the experience and I would dive again with Discovery without thinking twice.

Excellent boat and crew, average dive guides
The boat itself is excellent. It is brand new and spacious. Only thing that didn't work as expected was the cabin ac, while the panel allowed to set a temperature it didn't affect it and it was either on or of (which was fine for me). Only downside where the dive guides on my specific trip. They did an ok job, but I would've wished that they keep more attention on the group, especially on more challenging dives.

A very nice experience
My week on board the Grand Discovery was an all-round success. A brand new boat (so new that it still had small teething problems. But it wasn't bad), great diving community and very helpful and attentive staff and the guides Khaled, Mohammed, Abdel and Ramadan, who were always there with a smile and an open ear. Thank you for the trip and all the best. I'll be back!

A fantastic week on the Red Sea
I did my liveaboard on the Grand Discovery in Hurghada and it was a wonderful experience overall.I would like to highlight my private dive guide Ramadan. It is absolutely recommended. His calm, patient and caring manner did me a lot of good. Especially when I was struggling with seasickness, he took care of me attentively and sensitively. I felt safe and well looked after at all times. The dive sites were all incredibly beautiful, every single dive had something special to offer and there was always a lot to see. The underwater world was impressive and varied. The entire crew was also always friendly, helpful and motivated. You could tell that everyone was passionate about their job. The food was top notch, varied, fresh and really lacked nothing. The only point of criticism: When cleaning the ship, the cleaning agents were discharged directly into the sea, and they were not environmentally friendly products. To be honest, that hurt me, because the beautiful sea is the basis for this work and should be specially protected.
