One of the best dive trips
Had amazing 11 days onboard spirit of Maldives. Did north Atolls trip. Boat and crew were amazing. Dive guide Joe was brilliant, loved diving with him. We had amazing food on board. Staff were very attentive. Our cruise directors were so efficient. We had local island trip and cultural experience onboard. Overall, highly recommend.

Great experience with Spirit of Maldives
Boat is very large, and the separate dive boat (dhoni) system works very well and allows for the back of the boat not to be cluttered. Cabins are large, individual AC system, beds are comfortable. Mostly, the crew onboard is really lovely and professional, and take very good care of you. Safety is good, dive briefings were provided very well by Lukas and the team was available to answer any question. Dive sites are chosen well and adapted depending on conditions, and the daily schedule works well with appropriate time between dives for rest. Happy hour in the evening is nice too ! Overall would recommend this boat, I would be happy to return with Spirit. Many thanks to all the Crew and the Dive Guides Lukas, Ana, Sul, Joe and Kike, you really made our experience great :)

Very good, love the boat people and how Anna took as to the best dive points with the safety first. The only thing that was missing was the beach party which other boat did have despite the weather.

From the moment we stepped on board, we were welcomed by an incredibly professional, friendly, and dedicated crew who made us feel at home throughout the entire trip. We traveled during a seasonal transition period when tropical rainstorms were frequently chasing us across the atolls. However, our captain worked true magic, always finding a route toward clearer skies and sunshine. Thanks to his expertise and local knowledge, we enjoyed spectacular diving and breathtaking scenery despite the challenging weather conditions. The diving itself was phenomenal. We were fortunate enough to encounter majestic manta rays and an impressive variety of sharks, creating memories that will stay with us forever. Every dive was thoughtfully planned, safe, and exciting. A very special thank you to Lisa and David. Your professionalism, enthusiasm, patience, and passion for the ocean made every dive even more enjoyable. We already miss you both! A special mention goes to the amazing local guide, Sull. His knowledge of the reefs, marine life, and dive sites was truly exceptional. Diving with him was an unforgettable experience, and many of our best underwater moments happened thanks to his guidance. The only thing missing from our adventure was the elusive whale shark. We had been hoping to see one, but unfortunately didn't. Our next Maldivian adventure will definitely be in pursuit of these magnificent creatures, and when we do, we will absolutely choose Spirit of Maldives again. Unforgettable diving experience
The boat was very spacious, the food very varied and delicious. The guides and crew were very friendly and helpful. Diving with manta rays, tiger sharks, bull sharks and a lot of reef sharks was just an incredible experience. The reefs in the south are not very colorful, the coral bleaching is clearly visible, but rich in schools of fish (barracuda, tuna...) and big fish. At night there were 2x whale sharks on the boat with which we could snorkel.

Fantastic trip with an amazing team lead by David who had lots of experience in leading and diving the Maldives.
The highlights of the trip was seeing lots of tiger sharks, silver tips sharks, bull sharks, hammerhead sharks, mantas plus so much much more. However the real highlight for me was having 3 whale sharks at the back of the boat at night for hours (one of them was huge).

The dive site and all the palagic’s we encountered in the Deep South of the Maldives. The Cruise Director and dive lead was a top bloke and knew the dive sites like the back of his hand.. The whole crew was so friendly and helpful. The dive team including the Dhoni crew made the trip so memorable..

All in all, a great experience with many highlights and diving fun!
It was a motley crew of divers of different ages, with different levels of experience and different expectations. The two cruise directors Lisa and Dave, together with the dive guides, put together very suitable groups, so that everyone could experience their highlights. In addition to very intensive encounters with reef manta rays and rays, the different underwater worlds with their flora and fauna have always resulted in interesting encounters with sharks, large, small and very small fish, etc. All in all, all around successful dives of sometimes considerable length. The varied food was very tasty and offered a lot of choice. The rooms were spacious and very well furnished and maintained. The large windows allowed a great view from the bed to the sea! With this boat and this crew and similar groups always a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

The vessel is superb and modern. The cabins are spacious and the entire crew did their utmost to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The vessel is almost brand new which means it’s fresh and comfortable. The new dhoni wasn’t ready yet, so we had a rental during our safari. Diving in the Maldives is always good. This time the diving probably suited best those who appreciate bad visibility. Still we had many mantas and reef sharks. We even had whale sharks at night close to the vessel. Highlight of the trip was a few outstanding characters on board. They also delivered under water so all in all I’m satisfied. Food was excellent. Every time they served cake directly after a dive, the mood amongst the divers went sky high. It was fascinating to witness the dynamics between dive management and guests when discussing different options due to weather, navigation and currents. Great! The cabins are comfortable with plenty of space, but I would recommend an extra door in the shower room. Our local dive guide, Muaz did an excellent job taking care of our group. He’s definitely one of the most experienced and professional dive guides I’ve been diving with in the Maldives. I borrowed some dive socks from another guide, Joe. That was highly appreciated. Every diver in our group had around 1000 dives each which made the dives quite relaxing. On board it was a good mix of Germans, Austrians and Swiss people. One night there was a music quiz with only German songs. I learned a lot about foreign music culture that night.

Great boat, crew, and diving. The diving exceeded my expectations and I would recommend the North itinerary because we never had to share a dive site with other boats even though the Maldives is dripping with dive boats.

My partner and I had a great experience aboard the Spirit of Maldives. 10 days flew by, punctuated by great dives, great meals, entertaining evenings and the most professional dive conditions we have seen. This is how a liveaboard should be ran. A great thank you to Jo, Ana, Lukas and Sabah for a fantastic 10 days!

A super-great Maldives experience on the classic Central Atoll Tour
This trip with the Spirit of Maldives was again very nice and you could enjoy every hour. The boats, the 'Aqua Queen' and the dhoni are in good condition and you will find everything you need for a successful diving trip. The whole crew around Captain Mo, from the sous chef to the bar man, from the board engineer, dhoni captain and the compressor team work very hard week after week to make a powerful experience possible. These efforts cannot be appreciated enough. You only need to say a few words about diving. That fits. The rules are clear and still allow long relaxed dives. The dive sites of the Central Atoll Tour included many classics. The cruise team David and Lisa together with Joe, Sul and Kike choose and plan the dive sites in a very varied way and also give themselves the flexibility to change the dive site if there are several boats with divers in the water. The weather certainly contributed positively to the mood, but it is rather the people, especially the friendly crew and the other guests on board, who are decisive. A funny and communicative crowd of guests was thrown together, where it felt like everyone was satisfied with the trip. The liveaboard with the Spirit of Maldives team was again a nice experience for me and makes me want to go on the boat again.

I’ve just returned from a 10-day liveaboard on the Spirit of the Maldives, and honestly, it was the best holiday of my life. Everything was exceptional from start to finish. The crew is absolutely incredible always smiling, attentive, and genuinely caring. You feel taken care of from the very first moment, which makes such a difference. The organization is seamless, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere on board is both relaxed and friendly. A huge thank you to David and Lisa, captain Mo, dive guides, Kike, Joe and Sul; thank you to Assanga, Abdullah and the whole crew The diving… just wow. The Maldives truly are an underwater paradise, and every single dive was more impressive than the last. Sharks, manta rays, huge schools of fish an unforgettable experience every time. Professional, passionate, and always reassuring, he knows the dive sites inside out and always finds the best spots. Truely the best trip of my life
This was honestly the best holiday of my life. From day 1 when we were picked up to the final drop off we had so much fun. I arrived as a solo female traveller and left with so many incredible memories and friends. I was placed in a small dive group of 3 other solo female travellers. Our dive guide Kike was the sweetest, kindest fun person to spend the week with and all of us girls would not have had nearly as good of an experience without him. His deep passion of diving, the animals, and effort to make sure we had the most memorable experiences went far above and beyond what I could’ve ever expected. I very much look forward to the next opportunity I get to dive with him again as all our dives were so fun, safe, and exciting regardless of the weather conditions. A true testament to how wonderful and caring he was as our guide. As for the rest of the boat it was fantastic, everyone was so lovely and accomodating to everyone and made such an effort to make our trip as amazing as possible. A few special shoutouts to Joe for being another amazing guide, Sul for alway ensuring we were safe to enter the water and Lisa for her undeniable passion during all dive briefings and care as the Cruise Director. I also did my nitrox course on board and I highly recommend. Kike instructed myself and one of the other girls and did a fantastic job explaining all of the theory and practical components to us. Overall the food was amazing, the diving was incredible and tailored to our weather conditions and I couldn’t recommend this experience highly enough. I can’t wait to come back and do it all again

This’s a high standard liveaboard management of Maldives
With great lucky that we saw huge amounts of different expected marine life’s, such as a wall of hundreds mantas, schools of reef sharks, eagle rays, and 3 whale sharks and group of dolphins underwater. To make different dive plan for specific dive site for different levels of divers will be more great and much better for balancing experience of all the guests.
Recommended for
Huge space of rooms in upper and main deck which is great.. Huge work platform for cameras with 28 degrees AC at top which is healthy for camera charging and housing drying, this is a professional detail point. If there’s an air gun will be great.. Friendly and helpful staffs..

Amazing trip, amazing guide
This trip has been amazing on so many levels. From day 1 the whole staff has been so kind. Kike our dive guide in particular. A downright amazing, kind and wonderful person. As a newly certified diver a first liveaboard can be daunting. However I’ve felt comfortable and safe time and again. He made sure everyday was filled with amazing sightings and passionate explanations once back at the surface about what we’d seen. Even if the visibility was less than ideal, we always had great fun. I’ve never laughed so hard underwater, danced during safetystops, and then laughed more at the surface as during this trip. He even took some wonderful pictures as memories. A special mention to dive guide Joe as well, as I’d travelled to Fiji right before this, where he’s from. I’ve felt right at home and welcomed with open arms. Dive guide Sul even though he wasn’t our guide, he made sure to check if every dive site was safe to enter. Bartender Asanga for making every day on the boat a little happier with his big smile and lovely announcements over the intercom and definitely captain Mo as well. He took us everywhere safely and shared his love for fishing.

Great boat with a lot of space and large cabins, the food was great, good crew on the boat and the dhoni. Great dive sites, some with a decent current. Unfortunately, we jumped into the water together too often in 4 groups. Here it would have been better to divide it into 2 groups with a 5-10 minute interval (if the current allows it).

Food, especially the curries. Very friendly and helpful staff who always had a smile. 10 days many big fish.

Diving-oriented and well-organized trip that ensured maximum relaxation and beautiful underwater experiences.
All in all, a professionally organized diving trip, which was very well received by people like me, who are enthusiastic about diving and can already dive quite well. Highlights were the diverse encounters with manta rays, several shark species, coral reefs and other underwater animals. Due to the season, the visibility was not quite as good and the waves were sometimes bigger, so that not all announced destinations, especially in the north, could be reached. The alternative dive sites, even if visited before, were still worthwhile.

Fantastic diving on the northern trip
We went on the northern route in September 2025. We had some fantastic diving. There were a tonne of mantas, and lots of dives focussed on finding and watching mantas, including a great night dive with mantas. We saw the occasional reef shark during the trip then had one dive with great visibility and maybe 50 reef sharks circling us, which was awesome. We also saw whale sharks whilst snorkelling, and had a beautiful experience with a whale shark and dolphins approaching the boat at night. The dive guides and other staff were attentive and experienced. The boat is beautiful, brand new, and has great furniture and fittings. We had a great time!

OK trip
This is my 8th liveaboard trip, and my second time in the Maldives. The boat is clean with large rooms. For the cost, they could invest in nicer furniture. Food is good especially the last dinner which was Maldivian. I went to the South Maldives to dive with tiger sharks- if this is your goal, I would recommend doing a land based trip in Fuvahmulah instead as the tigers are at the harbor which is controlled by the local dive groups. My group got unlucky with a local dm who is a miliary diver as our dive guide who had never dove the S Maldives before. At Fuvahmulah, he chose to take our group away from where all the other dive guides took their groups (away from the harbor) and we did not get close encounters with the tigers as all the over groups did. This was a huge mistake and a big disappointment. But overall a good and safe trip. I would recommend Blue Force over Spirit of the Maldives though
