My goal was to experience “pelagic magic” and this trip ticked all of the boxes.
This was my first Socorro trip and it did not disappoint. Roca Partida was truly amazing! We saw loads of curious mantas and even saw a whale shark. The other sites blessed us with hammerheads and dolphins. Overall, just a mind blowing trip.

Outstanding Marine Life, but Safety Depends Heavily on Guide and Grouping
Socorro delivered exceptional marine life: large schools of hammerheads, tiger sharks, whale shark, mantas, and multiple close dolphin encounters. The crew was cheerful, hard-working, and genuinely caring, and the vessel was kept clean with a positive onboard atmosphere. However, I had significant concerns regarding dive management and safety margins during part of the trip. Many dives involved extended bottom time at depth, prolonged swimming against strong current at depth, and minimal reserve margins. Many divers reached 0–2 minutes NDL or entered decompression, and multiple divers consistently ran very low on air or out of air. Some very advanced, adventurous divers were allowed a high degree of freedom, which increased risk for the rest of the group in a remote environment where help is far away. These divers were mixed with very inexperienced divers in the same group, creating elevated risk not only for them, but also for mid-level divers like myself, who received insufficient monitoring in a high-risk environment. There were a few close calls which I won’t go into details about. In some cases, air was shared to extend dives, when the safer decision would have been to end the dive and begin ascent. After switching to Cristina’s group, the difference was immediately apparent. Dives were tightly managed and cohesive, air was checked frequently, ascents were conducted together, and divers surfaced with adequate reserves and double-digit NDLs. Dive plans also required less continuous finning, resulting in safer and more enjoyable dives. Cristina is an excellent guide — attentive, safety-focused, cheerful, and genuinely caring both underwater and topside. Accommodation was functional and comfortable with adequate storage, and I slept well. Shared bathrooms were well maintained and never problematic. Food was acceptable and thoughtfully prepared, though mid-level compared to another liveaboard I was on in this area. I would also like to note that management responded compassionately and took my concerns very seriously, conducted internal reviews, and reassigned my dive group during the trip, which I appreciated. Recommendation I would not return unless dive management is consistently more conservative with stronger safety margins, or unless there is better guide-to-guest ratio, improved skill matching within groups, or the option for private guides. For prospective guests: without knowing what safety improvements will be made in their dive operation yet, I would recommend this trip if you are DM-level or fully comfortable diving solo in strong current with minimal supervision. Otherwise, there are potential safety concerns if you are matched with an incompatible guide or group mix.

Amazing dives, awesome experience
I was on a few liveaboards already, but this one was the best. I can highly recommend it. The crew was super friendly, everyone always smiled and helped whenever needed. The diving was well organized and overall amazing. Our dive guide Cristina was super nice, very experienced and took good care of everyone in the group while still giving us room while diving. She was really excellent. Also, it was great hanging out with the people on the boat in between the dives, no matter if it were other guests or people from the crew.

Best dives with the best crew
The Revillagigedo National Park is absolutely amazing, every dive gave us encounters and experiences that in any other part of the world would be out of the ordinary. In this place, it really seems like time has never passed, and animals can feel curious about divers and seek interaction. The boat is nice and comfortable and offers different areas to spend time on board. The crew was great, they took care of us, solved any issue that could arise and they made the experience more than just a diving trip. Special mention to the diving instructors, who were able to plan the dives perfectly thanks to their knowledge of the park and to transmit their love and passion for this place

A Good Challenge
This was a good trip. But it was also a bit of a challenge. The sea was never calm (bring motion sick pills!) which made moving around the boat or in and out of boats a constant adventure, there was a lot more swimming against the current then I realized there would be, visibility was often not great, and we had to bail on more than one dive due to no visibility or currents that pulled us the wrong way. We also had a handful of stunning dives and incredible interactions with mantas. The Pacific Ocean is apparently just very unpredictable! Our dive guides Cristina and Rafa were very good. They obviously love what they do and that energy kept me going on all the 4 dive days. They worked very hard and had to always be filling tanks in between dives. This made them a little bit inaccessible during the day. The ratio of DM to diver was also 8:1 which is higher than I'm used to. I sometimes felt a bit forgotten under water as I was traveling solo and was given a buddy that didn't do all of the dives. Luckily there were very experienced divers in my group who kept an eye on me. I was also not told we needed our own SMB and so I didn't have one. Luckily I was able to go up early with another experienced diver when I needed to. The boat was comfortable and clean. Meals were a bit later than I'm used to (2:30pm lunches and 7/8pm dinners) but the food was very good. I'm vegan and the chef made me delicious alternatives. Sometimes my meal wouldn't come out until after everyone had finished but the chef has a small kitchen and it was always worth the wait. Overall a good trip with a good crew.

A truly unforgettable and breathtaking trip of a lifetime, don't hesitate!
The Adventure live aboard scuba trip out to the Revillagigedo Islands is a once in a lifetime experience. This has something for everyone, particularly those seeking a genuine nature experience with apex animals in their unspoilt environment. Firstly the boat, The Adventure is a customised vessel fitted specifically for a dive trip like this, it has a wonderful dining area, a very comfortable upper sun deck to warm up between dives, cabins that are cozy but very comfortable and communal bathroom/showers male & female that are kept sparklingly clean 100% of the time. She rides well if there is any swell about and is particularly quiet at night in the lower cabins where I stayed during my trip. The diving, simply stunning, what a privilege to spend quality time in the midst of some truly ancient and iconic creatures of the sea... We had endless encounters with giant Manta Rays, Hammerhead schools, Galapagos sharks, Silver & white tips, even quiet a few incredible Tiger sharks which were breathtaking to say the least. The not so iconic species were well represented too, with smaller fish of every colour and shape rounding out a truly mind-blowing diving experience. The crew, without question the crew on the Adventure are a well oiled, highly professional and cohesive team that bend over backwards in all facets of hospitality to make your experience something above and beyond. Special mentions to our incredible dive instructors Christina & David who kept us on schedule, in the right places at the right times and most importantly as safe as possible, they are both brilliant at their jobs and can't recommend them more highly. Joel the key steward onboard seemed to be everywhere at all times... he kept our rooms spick and span daily and was front and centre at all meal times catering to any and every need we had. Milli.... food is always the toughest job onboard any vessel and Millie not only made it look effortless but she provided us very high quality offerings each meal and all with a huge small and touch of homeliness in every dish. Every one of the crew were fabulous and I appreciated their efforts the entire trip and they should be very proud of their efforts. In closing, I would suggest you give serious consideration to the Adventure and her amazing team when looking at booking a Liveaboard to these islands, sure there are larger and fancier boats doing this trip but I can assure you the small creature comforts are left wanting in comparison to the warm and delightful crew that will go to every effort to make your trip an unforgettable one. 10/10 from my experience, and just to note I, myself work as a Super Yacht Captain so I know a good team when I see one.

Onboard the Adventure-Sunrider scuba
The Liveaboard on the Adventure through Sunrider Scuba was absolutely incredible. Mario was prompt and informative when I originally reached out to inquire about this trip. His emails were well written, clear, and answered all of my questions. He even called a few weeks prior to ensure everything was in order! This was our first Liveaboard and this experience will be a hard one to beat. The entire staff, including the captain, the crew master and the dive masters alike treated us like friends, not customers. We are vegetarians so eating while abroad is always a challenge. Our cook, Mili, created amazing meals that were delicious, completely homemade, and exactly to our liking. Our dive master, David, was organized, knowledgeable, informative, and ensured that we all had a wonderful dive experience throughout the entirety of the trip. We most definitely became better divers under his watchful eye. The captains of the dinghies, Pepe and Willi, kept us safe and secure getting in and out of the boat even in rough seas which on some days was quite the feat! The entire staff pitched in to give us, their guests, the best service possible with the serving of our meals and preparing our equipment for the next dive. This was so welcoming to be able to return from a dive, eat, then head back out to the ocean for more. What could be better? We shared the boat with 9 other divers who were a constant source of amusement and entertainment. Everyone got along beautifully. We were so lucky to have experienced such an amazing trip with other like-minded divers who shared the love for this incredible sport. And the diving? WOW. Giant mantas galore. Hammerheads, dolphins, and abundant whitetip, silvertip, and the occasional Galapagos shark thrown in. The Adventure communicated with other ships in order to make our dives the very best that they could be. Our itinerary changed a bit from what was posted in the description to insure our safety. Thanks for that! We were always well briefed as what to expect regarding the current and surge among other things. Most importantly, our dive masters kept us safe! We couldn’t be happier with our first Liveaboard experience.

Great diving, amazing food and service. Did not disappoint.
A highly memorable week in the sea of Cortez. Leaving from the beautiful town of La Paz ( take some extra time to enjoy before or after Liveaboard trip) Saw oceanic manta up close many times. Loads of friendly sea lions. Hammerhead, dolphins and LOADS of beautiful fish. Visibility not great close to La Paz but improved greatly as we headed north. The food was great, service wonderful. They even helped me with my tank when learning I had a bad back. Thanks Kike and Chris. The food is really terrific. Delicious and hearty breakfast lunch and dinner. Attention to detail was impressive from a boat kitchen. Thanks Diego.. you are a hero! We enjoyed a cocktail at the end of the last dive each day. Always different and delicious. Also beer soft drinks on free flow. Thanks Joel. Bed linen and towels changed frequently. Pepe and Jesus also were so helpful and friendly. Even the captain Elea ar greeted and helped us out of dive boats at end of the day, dancing as they helped! Lots of fun. Every day felt like a celebration. Wonderful Mexican hospitality. Can not recommend highly enough. The only drawback was that there are only single bunk beds on the boat. Each room has a sink for teeth washing before bed. Showers/ toilets close by and excellent. ( a few issues with toilets but they were fixed promptly)
