Highlights
The Calipso liveaboard schedules year-round diving in the Galapagos National Park. Completely renovated in 2019, everything was designed to offer comfort and a fresh, modern environment. There are 6 cabins on the upper deck and 2 cabins on the main deck, each with panoramic windows, en-suite bathrooms, a hairdryer, individually controlled AC, a TV with hundreds of films to choose from, a safety deposit box, USB charging ports, and laminate flooring. Beds are doubles that can be converted into two singles. There are also two single cabins located on the lower deck with no single supplement, which are allocated on a ‘first come, first served basis.’ At 33m in length, there is more than enough space for 16 guests and 11 crew members on board. Social areas include an indoor salon and dining area where international and Ecuadorian cuisine is served with fresh local produce and seafood. The top deck has lounge chairs, BBQ, a bar, and a hot tub.
Calipso Galapagos dive itineraries are 7 nights long and explore the world-famous Wolf & Darwin for the chance to get up close with whale sharks, hammerheads, and dolphins. Calipso also visits Marchena, previously only dived by a few scientists and filmmakers; it is known for having very large pods of dolphins, schools of Hammerheads, and Galapagos sharks. The large dive deck at the back of the boat has rinse tanks, hot water showers, dedicated camera storage and cleaning areas, and personal towels.

Great trip with very professional guides and crew
A really good trip on comfortable spacious boat with excellent crew and dive guides. Highlights from the diving are too many to mention, really diverse in wonderful locations. The crew were awesome, helpful, professional, knowledgeable and so friendly. We lucked out with a group of guests that were probably the best group I've dived with in over 20 years of dive travel. Food and accomodation was great. Rooms spacious and clean, food diverse and tasty. Improvements could made around the embarkation and disembarkation information. Not a lot of accurate information about where to meet prior to boarding, and information on arrangements for the last day was a little light which left us slightly disappointed. Boat engines also need a service and some maintenance as they produced a lot of smoke which was really noticeable in such a pristine environment. Trip was a little overpriced given the competition rates. All in all though a really great trip itinerary, boat and crew to see the best of the diving in the Galapagos Islands. A special mention for Peter Friere, our dive guide, who was just brilliant.

Bucket list - CHECK CHECK!
Saw all the critters as advertised. Crew were instrumental in all the getting us into position and looking at the right time. Would recommend to all divers at least once, the Galapagos of course and the Calipso specifically.

Most beautiful Liveaboard I've been on
I loved loved loved the sea lions. I didn't expect to be so impressed with them. I was going to see all the hammerheads, hoping to see Mola Molas, and Whale Sharks. We could tick off everything on the list, except seeing a penguin swimming in the water. I was in awe at the numbers of hammers, but the vis-being not that great-makes me want to come back again to see this again. The marine iguanas were also really cool.

The best divetrip
Whale sharks, hamerheads, galapagos sharks, iguanas, turtles, mola mola, pinguine, playful seelions and a lot of others.. The best dive experience ever! Amazing boat, perfect service, experienced dive guides, extremely helpful and friendly staff. I got even suprise for my 100 dive (decoration in my room and big cake). Food was always delicious, jacuzzi after dive was super and there is very nice sundeck. Calipso is top!!!

Needs to improve
Recent boat which has to improve many details, especially “before trip support & info”, and service details in crew. Diving is guided by official national park divemasters, supposed to be a plus, but this is not the case. Boat needs to improve its navigation capacities: unconfortable even with calm weather in hot season. Overall a nice dive trip for the unforgettable nature and diving spots, boat and needs to improve for worthing the money they took. Thank you
