Highlights
Barefoot luxury is the theme behind Mikumba Dua (of lost paradise charters) liveaboard Indonesia, having undergone an extensive renovation giving a contemporary twist to this traditional wooden boutique style phinisi. Mikumba Dua boasts the largest outdoor space found on any vessel in her class, spanning over 4 decks, allowing guests to indulge in alfresco dining under the stars while sipping away at their favorite drink or perhaps getting involved in some sunrise/sunset yoga or just lounging around on beanbags with a book. The main hub of the boat is the beautiful indoor salon, which also offers dining, a cinema room, a library, board games, or simply space for relaxation. There are 2 Master cabins on the upper deck, both en-suite and with their own private balcony, with a further 3 double/twin cabins on the lower deck sharing 2 bathrooms. All cabins are spacious and individually designed, embracing traditional local materials and fabrics.
Dining generally takes place on the top deck while taking in incredible vistas; our legendary local chef will provide a selection of authentic dishes prepared daily using the freshest locally sourced ingredients and cooked with dedication and love. The Ethos onboard Mikumba Dua is to seek adventure while getting you away from the crowds and giving you world-class diving and snorkeling. Visit secret beaches and lagoons and encounter breathtaking views from jungle-covered hilltops, all of which make for a truly magical experience, “the stuff of dreams.”
The enchanting and magnificent Raja Ampat, one of the last frontiers on Earth, is the ultimate tropical paradise. Commonly regarded as the most biodiverse marine ecosystem on our planet and ultimately some of the greatest diving and snorkeling in the world, as beautiful above the surface as below, it is “truly Heaven on Earth.”
The ambiance aboard Mikumba Dua reflects the feeling that guests are extended family and perfectly combines the balance of adventure and the feeling of home. Mikumba Dua is also available for private hire; the date of the charter, length of trip, locations, and activities can all be tailored to your needs.

Wonderful Liveaboard experience. Hilarious Host. Incredible diving.
Had an incredible stay on the Mikumba Dua. Jeremy the host was an absolute riot. We went to bed laughing so hard it hurt multiple nights. The diving is some of the best you will ever experience. We saw manta, cuttlefish, octopus, sharks, dolphins etc... We took the kayaks and paddle boards out on our evening breaks. Enjoyed soaking up the sun and witnessed some truly magical sunrises and sunsets. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the boat and were sad to leave once it was time. We will treasure the memories of this trip for a lifetime.

Wow! My 5 days on Mikumba Dua was truly the experience of a lifetime!
I had an amazing experience on Mikumba Dua. As a solo traveller, it can be daunting to get on a boat with strangers for multiple days, but the passengers and crew felt like a little family. The mix of land excursions with the diving was amazing, it was nice to get of the boat for a little everyday and enjoy the surrounding islands. Food was fresh and healthy also. This was an incredible experience and I would stay on the boat again

Incredible
The diving is amazing of course. The boat is super comfortable. Not crowded, plenty of areas to either socialize or grab some alone time. The food was great with good variety and plenty of fresh fruit. The dovr guides were helpful and not overbearing. The boat staff were efficient and friendly. The owner was very interactive and kind and positive. It was a tremendously fun week - cannot wait to return. Would easily repeat the same trip without hesitation.

Fantastic Liveaboard Experience
I would recommend Mikumba 2 to anyone. With 10 divers and 2 DMs, it was the perfect size for diving Raja Ampat. They coordinated with other boats and smartly timed the itinerary to ensure we had most dive sites to ourselves. This was especially useful for sites with strong currents or where you’d want to hook in to watch the action at the head of the reef (I can’t imagine how chaotic it would have been diving some of the sites with 20 people). The DMs were great, Fadly kept us on schedule and was great at spotting nudis. Ardi really knows the different fish and talked with us for hours after dinner about the different fish and animals we saw. He’s also great at shooting video with his GoPro. Hugo (another DM/Cruise Coordinator) was fantastic and made sure that there was always something to do, kept us well-informed, and took care of any concern we raised. The DMs also worked with the less experienced divers in our group, making little adjustments and offering minor tips that really improved their bouancy. The food was also great — they gave us 4 hearty meals a day plus tons of snacks! Highlights were the Friwan Wall, Blue Magic, and Melissa’s Garden. We also saw Mantas and had amazing interactions with cuttlefish on our night dive (the bioluminescent plankton was so cool!). I got to see a gray reef shark, a white tip, and lots of black tips and wobbegongs. Damian (the owner) arranged our transit from Sorong to the boat which made getting there easy (it would have been difficult and confusing without the guide). It’s standard, so don’t worry. I just recommend coming in the day before so you are able to catch the 9am ferry from Sorong to Waisai

Jem is a gem!!! Thanks Mikumba 2 & crew for the magical week <3
The dive sites of Raja Ampat are absolutely breathtaking (SO much marine diversity WOW), and there’s no boat I’d rather experience them on than the beautiful Mikumba 2! Mikumba 2 had by far the most varied activities I’ve ever experienced on a liveaboard — we had multiple beach hangouts, paddle boarding in the mangroves, a beach bonfire, and a magical hike to the top of Piaynemo. Jem is the kindest, friendliest guy EVER and is such a joy to be around. He and every single member of the crew went far above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay on the boat. The crew members were so nice :’) they helped out so much with our dives, and the dive guides were so knowledgeable about all the wildlife (and GREAT at finding creatures of all shapes and sizes)! And the food, omg— every meal was a dreaaam. They varied from day to day and consisted of a mix of local (fried rice/noodles, beef curry, lots of fish, stir fried veggies, etc) and western food (bacon, eggs, pancakes, bread, the most amazing butter and Nutella, etc). Each meal ended with the most spectacular tropical fruit platter. YUM. A few pointers: make sure you’re comfortable with strong current (there is current in many Raja Ampat dive sites), and maybe bring earplugs since some of the downstairs rooms were a little creaky at night when the boat was moving. We love all of you on Mikumba 2!!!! And hope to be back one day!!!

Highly recommended 100%
When I decided to dive in Komodo, friend divers warned me about the potentially dangerous currents in Komodo, so I was a bit apprehensive. Nevertheless, with around 60 dives under my belt, I decided to join this liveaboard. As expected, the currents proved to be quite strong, but I was fortunate to have an outstanding dive master, Fadly. Throughout the entire journey, Fadly went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and safety. His expertise and attentiveness made me feel at ease, even in the face of challenging conditions. I am already looking forward to returning and without hesitation, I highly recommend Mikumba for an unforgettable diving experience!!
