The National Geographic Islander II is an expedition ship accommodating up to 48 guests in 26 cabins and suites across 5 decks. Designed to feel like a private yacht, the vessel combines teak finishes with spacious accommodation and maintains an approximate 1:1 guest-to-crew ratio. Its intimate size and comfortable design make it well-suited to year-round exploration of the Galápagos Islands.
Public areas include an open bridge, an observation deck, a forward-facing viewing area, a library, a chart room, and The Cove lounge and bar. Guests can also relax beside the plunge pool or browse Ecuadorian artwork and handicrafts in the Global Gallery. Two dining areas offer indoor and outdoor seating and serve locally sourced, sustainable, farm-to-table and ocean-to-table cuisine with Ecuadorian influences.
Galápagos expeditions aboard the National Geographic Islander II combine wildlife observation, shore landings, and marine activities. The ship carries Zodiacs, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, a glass-bottom boat, and snorkeling equipment for adults and children. A swim platform, video microscope, and dedicated Science Hub support further exploration and provide greater insight into the archipelago’s wildlife and ecosystems.
