Highlights
The KLM Gaya Baru Indah is a traditional sailing phinisi offering liveaboard diving around Indonesia's 'Bird's Head Seascape', which includes Raja Ampat. She typically only takes 8 guests per cruise, meaning a more personalized and intimate service. There are 4 cabins available; two double cabins and 2 twin cabins, each with air-conditioning, fan, and reading light. There are 3 shared bathrooms on the upper deck with freshwater showers, shampoo, soap and a toilet. There is ample room to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings aboard the Gaya Baru Indah liveaboard. During the day, awnings are set up to provide shade from the hot tropical sun, and in the evening, they are drawn back to make way for stargazing. Three delicious meals per day plus plenty of snacks are prepared with a mix of Indonesian and western cuisine. The Gaya Indah Baru has 13 crew catering to 8 passengers, meaning someone is always available to help the valued guests enjoy their trip to the maximum.
Itineraries are from 7 up to 12-days long, with night dives being offered throughout the trip. Dive groups are kept small with no more than 4 divers per guide, so ensure everyone gets the most out of every dive. Raja Ampat is quickly becoming known as one of the best places on earth to dive due to the extreme bio-diversity it offers. Raja Ampat offers the chance to see rays, sharks, colorful coral reefs and large schools of tropical fish, and the highlight of the cruise - whale sharks. The Gaya Baru Indah also visits Triton Bay and the Banda Sea, two more iconic dive areas with some of the best diving Indonesia has to offer. The shaded dive deck has ample space for individual gear storage and rinse tanks, and nitrox is included complimentary for those certified.
The Gaya Baru Indah is a fantastic budget option for a dive liveaboard to Raja Ampat, Triton Bay, the Banda Sea, and beyond. To reserve your space, call us or book online today.

Great cruise through Raja Ampat
Funny, in most regions of indenesia you find rubber time - on the Gaya Baru Indah german time. Due to Ralf's (Cruise Director) timing nearly everything was not only planned but on time (on the minute). This gives a good structure for the whole trip. The cabins are small but sufficient. The space on board for the 7 days was very good and everybody could relax in between the dives. Most of the dives were super good, 2 out of 18 dives could have been better due to strong currents and therefore unsufficient planning. Plenty of food - and the crew was very helpfull. Not a luxurious boat but absolut sufficient. Everybody was using nitrox - very good. All over a great experience!

Great 7 day dive trip in Raja Ampat
This boat is good value for money and it’s facilities are as advertised, which is why we picked it. It’s not luxurious but the food is really good and I personally enjoyed the charm of how the boat was laid out and operated. The boat and dive operations are highly professional, safe and on time. German precision at its best. The boat only takes 8 guests total which made it an awesome intimate and personalised experience much preferred to going with 14+ guests.

Excellent value and service
Wonderful crew, wonderful ship, incredible dive sites. Can't ask for much more from a liveaboard in Raja Ampat. High levels of safety and service both on deck and underwater, also Adi and Asman are incredible chefs!! Would recommend for any advanced+ diver and would choose the Gaya Baru Indah/Big Blue again.

Trip of a lifetime!
Overall had an excellent trip that was well organized and planned. The crew was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The diving was exceptional and was led by very professional guides. The food was very good and always enough to go around, though felt repetitive at times with rice being served at every meal.

Small intimate boat with a great crew
Thoroughly enjoyed the Southern tour to Misool with the Gaya Baru Indah crew. They were accommodating with vegan options and there was plenty of tofu, tempeh and veggie dishes, even egg free pancakes. The best dives were at Four Kings when we were lucky to encounter more than 8 manta rays. The rooms are cosy, with enough shelving and the fans were adequate to cool you down without AC.

Feel of an exclusive cruise but on a small boat
Our 1 week trip had a great itinerary including some outstanding dive sites and three excellent land excursions. The boat was beautiful, with plenty of space for relaxing and for kitting up. The crew and Ralph, one of the owners, were always on hand to help. We weren’t always fortunate with the weather or dive visibility but it didn’t detract from the whole lovely Raja Ampat experience. Would definitely recommend this liveaboard.
