Highlights
The Gemini Explorer is a 22mtr/72-feet long converted lifeboat that can accommodate 8 passengers in 5 cabins. She was built in 1974 as a lifeboat and is able to achieve speeds of up to twelve knots and has an extended offshore range of 1700 miles. She entered service at the Clovelly Lifeboat Station on the North Devonshire coast and saved 44 lives before being retired in 1989, and converted into a small cruise ship. After a refurbishment in 2020, she is now sailing the beautiful islands and sea lochs of Scotland’s west coast as part of St Hilda Sea Adventures little fleet.
There is a double en-suite at the bow of the ship, a twin en-suite and a single en-suite, and there is a twin cabin and a double cabin at the stern. The onboard chef uses locally-sourced and freshly prepared meals. The upper viewing deck is ideal for spotting wildlife, and it is spacious enough to accommodate equipment such as the onboard two-person kayak. The skipper is passionate about boats, sailing, and the natural environment of the islands and sea lochs of the inner and outer Hebrides. He's more than happy to share his knowledge of the area with those on board while ensuring everyone has a great time.
