Highlights
The 33m La Galigo liveaboard in Indonesia is a traditional two-mast Phinisi sailing boat built in 2012. It was designed by an avid diver and built by traditional Sulawesi craftsmen with scuba diving in mind. The La Galigo has 7 en-suite cabins with privately controlled air-conditioning accommodating 14 guests. The suite cabin has a private balcony and a TV. The living and dining area has a large TV, a well-stocked bookcase, and many power sockets for charging laptops, cameras, and video equipment. Guests can soak up some sun on a lounge, relax in the shade, or read a book in the rooftop dining and relaxing area. An isolated engine room makes the motor and generator noises very low. Tasty meals are provided throughout the day. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. For relaxation, there are also outdoor common areas where guests can lounge in reclining chairs, enjoying the ocean breeze. Guests of the liveaboard frequently rate the La Galigo as the best crew experience. Fun and safety are the hallmarks of La Galigo Liveaboard.
La Galigo has a dedicated diving platform at the rear of the boat and a side ladder for loading. There are also two dive tenders, one 6m and one 9m available. The itinerary includes trekking on all different itineraries to places such as the outlook of Penemu and cruising through the limestone formations of Wayag Lagoon and viewpoint. When scuba diving in Raja Ampat, sharks are everywhere under the reefs. The itinerary includes trekking the outlook of Bintang Lagoon and cruising through the limestone formations of Mt. Pindito. Scuba diving in Raja Ampat, where sharks can be found under the reefs. There are some great dive sites around Gam Island with vibrant fish-covered reefs and plenty of macro subjects. The biodiversity is rich, and guests can find Manta Rays, Whale sharks, Wunderpus, Mimic Octopus, Ribbon Eels, Napoleon Maori Wrasse, Bump Head Parrot Fish, Eagle Rays, Pygmy Seahorse, Great Barracuda, Silver Tip Sharks, Bull Sharks, Walking Bamboo Sharks, Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Frog Fish, Batfish, Potato Grouper, HammerHead Sharks, Grey Reef Shark, Large schools of Pelagic Fish, Nudibranchs, and Turtles.

Great trip, very well taken care of!
We had a great trip thanks to the vet attentive crew who always made us feel safe and well taken care of. We especially appreciated the above-water excursions that let us see more of the local sights and community.

Excellent
The boat is just beautiful. It’s so well run and everything is spotless and well maintained. The crew were so helpful and friendly and everything is done for you including washing your kit on the last day and after every dive. First dive boat I have been on that doesn’t smell at the end of a trip. The groups are small. 4 people per dive guide and perfect to enjoy each dive, adapting to your groups needs. The food was very good. The beds were the most comfortable I have slept on, on a Liveaboard and large showers! A bonus. It’s so well run and organised.

Out of this world! Crew, boat, food, diving, everything of the absolute highest standard!!!
Making friends with whole crew (Tom really takes personal pride in his boat, his crew and the experience of his customers). The selection of dive sites, all amazing and the guides ability to spot and ensure the whole group saw everything was the best I have experienced in almost a dozen liveaboard trips! The food, accommodation and equipment all top standard and maintenance and cleaning and help was above and beyond!!!

Had a great trip. The alternation between beautiful dives and cool trips made it perfect. Even though there were some unforeseen problems, the crew did everything they could to solve it as soon as possible. Everything happened with a smile! You literally didn't have to think about anything: everything was taken care of. The food was also very tasty and varied. The trip costs a bit, but is totally worth it.

My 12-day liveaboard journey in Raja Ampat aboard La Galigo was nothing short of extraordinary.
The combination of pristine diving, exceptional service, and the professionalism of the crew made this trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The dive team on La Galigo delivered outstanding guidance and safety, enriching every dive with their knowledge and passion for marine life. From large pelagics like mantas to macro treasures hidden in coral reefs, every dive revealed the extraordinary biodiversity that makes Raja Ampat so unique. Equally impressive was the onboard service. The La Galigo crew operated with seamless coordination, providing world-class hospitality at every step — from dive preparation to exquisite meals and comfortable accommodations. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail elevated the experience far beyond expectations. This journey was filled with magical moments, both underwater and on deck, and I wholeheartedly recommend La Galigo to any diver considering Raja Ampat. It is an ideal choice for both seasoned and first-time visitors to this region, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and truly unforgettable adventure.
