The Ghazala Explorer liveaboard in Egypt is a modern 37mtr/121ft motor yacht offering itineraries throughout the Red Sea area. It can take up to 24 guests in 12 air-conditioned, ensuite cabins, consisting of 9 twin bed and 3 double bed cabins, including suites. Ghazala Explorer has a spacious, bright indoor dining and lounge area for guests to enjoy prepared meals or relax with a drink. There is a sun deck with seating areas, bean bags, and either covered or open areas for those who prefer to be in the sunshine. A large dive deck to the rear allows storage of dive equipment and plenty of space to get ready for dives, and the rear platform makes getting on and off the tenders more accessible.

A week full of beautiful dives where everything around is just right!
The trip on the Ghazala Explorer was simply a complete success! The crew and guides were extremely accommodating and eager to make you feel completely comfortable. The dives are great and professionally planned, you feel safe at all times. There is no shortage of food either. In addition, it has an extremely good quality. It's amazing what the bosses were able to conjure up in a small ship's kitchen. The interior has recently been modernized and is tastefully designed. We had a very nice cabin on the upper deck.

Sensational! We will be back!
Thank you to the Ghazala Explorer team for an amazing liveaboard trip — we had an incredible time! Safety: First of all, safety on this boat is absolutely paramount. Safety drills and muster were conducted, and they have a huge first-aid kit in case you’ve forgotten or missed anything yourself. Dive Guides: A highly professional team. They even helped me with a faulty HP hose while we were in the marina. A big shout-out to Moustafa, Haithem and Hendy — we loved diving and socialising with you all! Every day, the guides ensured that everything was okay with your cabin, gear, food, etc. The dive briefs were very interesting and gave you the confidence to do unguided dives if you chose to. Another note: the dive courses are extremely reasonably priced if you want to level up your qualifications. Crew: So helpful! They do everything for you — helping you in and out of your gear, hanging your gear and keeping the boat spotless. The captain also took us out on snorkelling excursions, which was fantastic. And the interior crew — wow! Your cabin was spotless after every dive! The food was fantastic, and the chefs were wonderful. They also celebrate every occasion on the boat, which made it feel really special. The Boat: Every detail has been considered. There are so many charging areas — a dedicated one for batteries, another for cameras, and USB ports in the saloon. The dive deck is extremely well organised and has separate wash bins for your gear. They even put a wash solution in the wetsuit wash bin so that it smells nice! Every cabin has its own hanging area for towels on the dive deck, and the cabins have so much storage. If you’re sharing a cabin, you have equal amounts of storage in both the bathroom and cabin — I was genuinely impressed! Even the towels are labelled! They provide a dressing gown, a diving towel and bathroom towels. Diving: Stunning! I loved every single dive. Our highlights were the Thistlegorm and Giannis D, as well as our incredible encounter with dolphins while diving — followed by having the dolphins in our own cove for another hour of snorkelling! We also loved the night dives. There were so many creatures we hadn’t seen before. We will be back! And next time, it will be on board an Ocean Tribe boat. Many of the guests on our boat had been on the Explorer multiple times, and after our experience, we can absolutely see why! Thank you again to the entire Ghazala Explorer team for an unforgettable trip.

Very impressed and highly recommended
Very impressed with the size and cleanliness of cabins, we were in an upper deck cabin. Cleaners visited several times a day to clean bathroom, make beds etc. fresh linen and towels half way through week. Felt reassured with safety aspects as had excellent fire and emergency briefing and practice. Also this boat uses ENIOS safety devices for each diver to track missing divers- first time we have had this safety measure. Food was always fresh, plentiful and varied and they catered well for people with specific dietary requirements. The dive crew and guides were excellent , great detailed dive briefings and very helpful and attentive deck and zodiac crews. Everyone couldn’t do enough for you. Ocean Tribe manager came onboard at end of safari and asked for detailed feedback which we felt was a very personal touch he seemed genuinely interested in any info to help shape future trips. Would highly recommend and would use again.

Everything was excellent
Everything was excellent. The cabins are spacious and the bathrooms are excellent. There was plenty of hot water for the showers. The food was excellent, and all of the crew were great. The jot tea after the dive is a nice touch.

10/10, would book again
This was my first liveaboard and it far and away exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredible - they were so attentive I felt like a helpless baby. I didn't put my own fins on all week and every time I turned around someone was there to help me into/out of my wetsuit. The guides were awesome and the rest of the crew was amazing, especially the chefs - the food was delicious. The boat and rooms were very spacious and it had everything you could want or need for a week on board. I would 100% recommend this liveaboard and would book the Ghazala Explorer if I returned to the Red Sea (there were several people on the boat who were repeat customers).
