I look back on a fantastic week.
My 15th liveaboard and by far the best. The welcome was warm, the crew is extremely helpful and friendly. The dives are well briefed and supervised. Those who wanted to could dive unaccompanied. Always felt safe. Even though I had done this tour 4 times, they still showed other reefs. The boat was quite comfortable and neat. It is also nice that there are plenty of sunbeds in the sun so that you can warm up between dives now that it was a bit colder season. Wide range of decent towels and bathrobe when you get out of the water and stand in the wind. After the dive, the crew was ready to help you take off your wetsuit, they rinsed it for you and hung it up which is nice when you are shivering from the cold. The food was tasty and varied. There was also always a fruit basket that was replenished daily. A big plus was the coffee machine with delicious coffee that is included. That also brings me to the fact that there are no hidden costs.

Amazing dive trip, would recommend again and again :)
Many of the guests actually were on the boat a second or third time as they loved it so much which I completely understand. I will rebook the Ghazala Explorer as well when I want to return to the Red Sea as it was an amazing trip. The dive locations were just brilliant combined with a super friendly crew and the high level of comfort of the boat overall (from cabin to lounge to sun deck to diving deck) created a great dive trip.

Great itinerary on a nice boat with a lovely crew
Our cruise director Reda‘s dive briefings were the best and most extensive I‘ve ever experienced. Especially in preparation for the various wreck dives (including three dives at Thistlegorm, one of these as a night dive), his clear instructions, drawn maps of the most favourable path through the wrecks and photos of junctions and key points made it really easy to have relaxed and unguided dives. The food was delicious, there was even a designated dessert chef on board. All of the crew were dedicated to provide the guests a great experience, they were friendly and seemed quite happy with their profession. What sets Ghazala Explorer apart from most liveaboards in the red sea is their all inclusive approach: no hidden costs like „port fees“ or „fuel surcharges“, even Nitrox is included in the posted price. The only things to pay on board were alcoholic beverages, canned sodas and espresso capsules. That ist a very customer friendly pricing policy that truly deserves our support. This won‘t have been my last trip with this lovely crew on this great boat!

Probably the best boat on the Red Sea
We did 2 back-to-back trips in the summer of 2024 - North&Wrecks and BDE. It was an overall great experience - the Ghazala is in great shape, nice dive deck on the boat, good guides, zodiac drivers and helping hands. Clean cabins and cabin service was top notch. AC didn't work on the first day, but was serviced immediately, and worked fine for the next 2 weeks. Great food as well, although I still wonder who eats the chicken liver that was served once ;) The biggest compliment though is on the organisation and exectution of the diving. You always get the choice of going guided, unguided or a sort-of-hybrid (do your own thing but stay somewhere near one of the groups). Switching groups is also no problem, there's always a whiteboard going around after the briefing for you to decide which guides and other divers you want to dive with. We also almost never saw other boats - and even when we did, it was 1-2 max. So we pretty much had the dive sites to ourselves, even the Thistlegorm!
