Valentina Liveaboard, Mexico

Enjoy spectacular diving in the Baja California Peninsular aboard the MV Valentina Liveaboard Mexico. Unique and Unforgettable!!

The whole trip was well organised from the initial meeting at San Jose airport to the drop off at the end. Lorenzo (Mexican) is the main guide, and a true gentleman. He is as caring as your own father! Full of enthusiasm for each dive site and seems to have the manta's and dolphins on speed dial! We also saw schools of hammerheads and my first tiger shark in 18 years of diving. The other guide was a young Japanese lad called, Rui. Again, he was full of life and knew the dive sites very well, and couldn't wait to get back in the water for the next dive. This is the enthusiasm that you want on a dive trip. I have been on the odd boat where the guides are tired and can't be bothered to dive. I don't mind having a small cabin that doesn't have the latest flat screen TV, or missing out on warm fluffy towels on the dive deck. The guides and the crew make ALL the difference on these trips. Both of these guides help make the trip very special with the wildlife encounters which we all had. The whole crew are a credit and know exactly what they are doing. The food was the best that I have ever had on 20+ liveaboards inc The Odyssey in Truk lagoon. The Valentina was a much better trip. The cabins are quite old, but the boat is clean, hygienic and run so well. Yes there's quite a bit of sailing to get there, but all the great dive sites around the world entail the same. If they were too easy to get to, they would be over dived and ruined. I can't wait to book again to try and see the humpback whales on the next trip!

Recommended for
1) Dolphins, mantas and sharks that are tame and used to seeing divers. These are wild and yet they hang around and play in your bubbles! 2)The guides are fantastic.Really keen, but safe and good fun. 3)All the crew were great - attentive but not over the top.

This ship is run by the same company that runs all the day-trips on the area, so you get all the intimate knowledge from local Divemasters while also getting exclusive access that day-trippers won’t see. The ship is Huge - and I was there when it was fully booked. At every moment I could have been on any deck, in any lounge area, and never felt inhibited.

Lorenzo´s crew are great, great, great!

Conditions are fine, did not rain, but visibility underwater was not ideal. We were very happy with the atmosphere on the boat, the crew was fantastic. Fernanda is incredibly hardworking and she smiles all day.

Blissful week on the Valentina

My second trip on the Valentina. My first was to Socorro, this time to Sea of Cortez. Both trips were absolutely great. The crew cannot be beat. Cabins are spacious (per industry standards). Five dives at Los Islotes was FANTASTIC! Last time I dove in the Sea of Cortez (land based) we dived there a measly one time. It is my favorite place in the world and they took the time necessary to properly explore it. Amazing night dive with hundred of mobula rays swarming around us. Breathtaking. It was fun chasing whale sharks the last day. It was a blissful week. Lorenzo and El Capitan are the best! The crew knew my needs and wants before I did. Nice mix of cultures with Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and American divers.

a wonderful time for our 1st ever Livaboard trip.

The interactions with the sea lions. Getting kissed by a baby sea lion. Seeing Manta rays. Night dive with mobula rays. Enjoying the beautiful views of all the different islands in the sea of Cortez. Making new friendships with the crew and other guests. How the went out their way to make sure everyone hand a good time.

Liveaboard Valentina

Swimming with sea lions and manta rays and the mobula Ray night dive. Absolutely beautiful. The staff on the ship were very friendly and accommodating. The dive guides were excellent. Unfortunately a tropical depression moved through mid-trip so we were unable to visit all the dive sites as planned, but this was for our safety. My first liveaboard, but will not be my last

Wonderful experience on the Valentina

Just returned from 10 days in Socorro Islands on the Valentina. I was a little nervous being the only American with a tight group of Chinese divers who spoke little English, but we all bonded over the experience. The crew was wonderful. A very unique experience in a very unique part of the world. Loved playing with the giant Mantas and chasing whales on the bow after the dives. Many sharks and some very fast dolphins. I did my Nitrox training on the trip to Socorro. Very comfortable accommodations and good food. Loved it when the Chinese cooked their specialties. Learned to play Mah Jong on Chinese New Year. A very special trip.

Good experience, enjoyable trip

Diving with pacific mantas and playing with baby sea lions was a great experience. Due to the weather conditions we had just 2 days of diving in Socorro, and then we had to come back to the Sea of Cortez. That was a disappointment. But safety first :) The crew did their best to o satisfy us. They were very helpful, professional and kind.
