Nice boat, food and crew. Met all of our needs and we have no complaints.
The diving was great. Maybe a little too much swimming against the current as opposed to going with it.

Fantastic sea life; fantastic crew.
The crew and guides on the JP Marine are what really make this a fantastic experience. The crew is professional and kind, super helpful, and do so much work behind the scenes they make the experience seamless. The guides, Peter and Karim, are fantastic - extremely knowledgable and ensure safety first while showing you amazing sites all along the Red Sea. The food is excellent - the kitchen staff absolutely outdid themselves every day and on the last night even cooked a whole turkey, which, as an American I really appreciated, as it was Thanksgiving! The accomodation is more on the spartan side - small rooms and simple bedding/linens, and the bathroom shower gets everything wet. But it didn't really bother me, as I wasn't there to spend time in my room! Overall I highly recommend this to anyone looking to experience diving in the Red Sea.

A fantastic, safe, and unforgettable experience with exceptional dives, food, and company!
I have absolutely no complaints. The food, staff, dive guides, facilities, dive gear, safety, and dives themselves were all exceptional. Dives: Every day we had the option of at least 3 or 4 dives. We even got a really fun night dive in! The dives themselves were fantastic—we saw a whale shark, oceanic white tip sharks, sea turtles, reef shark, sea horse, Spanish dancers, and tons of beautiful and colorful fish. The dives were diverse and interesting, a mix of beautiful reefs, blue water dives searching for sharks, night dive, and exploring caves, wrecks, and a gorgeous coral garden. No hammerheads, but our guides tried everything for the best chance. Staff: Sergio and Tori were our dive guides and both were awesome—I always felt very safe and comfortable with them. Sergio made sure we never strayed too far from the reef. I hired a private guide (Tori) for myself because I’m not as experienced as the other divers, and it was really great! We had some very amazing and private encounters with the marine life that was worth the extra money and peace of mind having someone watching out for me. The boat staff were so helpful with all the gear and expert at picking us up from dives and finding us after a drift—I don’t know how they do it! Shoutout to Ghandi who always made me so excited before a dive and welcomed me back on to the boat after the dive. Mickey in the dining room was awesome at serving us also :) Gear: I never had a problem with any of the dive gear I rented and used—everything was in great shape. Food: the food was SO delicious! Always lots of options and desserts, and tasty snacks from the kitchen between dives—we never went hungry. Complimentary tea, coffee, water, sodas, and snacks 24 hours. Facilities: my room was everything I needed. Clean with good storage space, cabinets, standard ship bathroom. Air conditioner worked great. The lounge area and sun deck upstairs with lots of couches and bean bags were very comfortable. We even had a fun disco dance party 2 night with DJ Sergio’s music and disco lights! Thank you so much to the JP Marine crew for a fantastic first Liveaboard experience for me <3 I will never forget it!

Fantastic Crew, Boat and Dive Sites
1. Manta ray and hammerheads were no problem. Found lots on some of the best dive sites. 2. The crew and the dive guide were outstanding. Even dealt with some health issues that were totally unrelated to diving in amazing ways. Terrific people. 3. The boat was very nice and very comfortable. I am sure you could pay more but I am not sure what else you would get that could make it better.

Had a wonderful time on JP marine - it was a real mixed group and turned out to be a total blast! The crew was amazing and kind and even surprised me with a cake for my birthday!! The food was endless and delicious and the diving was of course spectacular (hello hammerheads for 3 days in a row). My ONLY complaint would be size of diving group was rather large. But I still had a wonderful time and for the price point it’s just excellent value for money! Do it!

Beautiful south of the Red Sea
This itinerary offers different types of dives, some of them really beautiful. I only regret that in the couple of the years when I keep returning to the Red Sea the life is disappearing from the reefs, partially because of waste waters being sometimes disposed directly on the dive sites (eg washing the deck with chlorine cleaning product). Also the quality of services offered on this boat has decreased with time and required tip increased.

Experience, organized dive guide and diving with Dolphins, Hammerheads and whale sharks!
The currents were typically strong in the area but with Ellia and Peter, you feel secured. They were very accommodating and we’re quite lucky to see whale sharks and hammerheads. Although the aircon is unstable for upper deck, the cleanliness and crew services are wonderful.

Second great dive cruise with JP Marine
Rocky and Zabargad dive sites which we hadn’t yet visited. Plus it was great to see the crew again. The mix of different nationalities was definitely a plus. The organization of the dives by Peter (the guide) plus the fact that he was aware of the different dive capacities of each diver was very reassuring. He is the best dive guide I have met in 400 dives in the Red Sea

- The diving was very good as was our guide Peter (like last year). The general atmosphere on board was great and friendly with a good mix of nationalities and the crew
An awesome experience!!
Lots of Hammerhead sightings, Mantas and reef sharks. Reefs are huge, vertical drops. Current is strong, makes it a little challenging for the divers who are not used to it (like me). More weights help a little to make you negatively buoyant when descend. Guides and the dive plans are well organized. We did 18 dives overall, 4 dives some days. The staff overall is pretty much helpful, caring, and funny. The food was great! Sun deck is great after dark, can see so many stars. Take some music (EDM or whatever) with you in a USB drive, definitely will help you to party after dinner. The boat is a little old, so are the cabins and zodiacs. But overall It was an awesome experience.

Amazing !!!!!!!!
This was an amazing trip. The Red Sea diving experience was incredible. We saw Giant Mantas, Hammerheads, Oceanic White Tips, loads of barracudas, tunas, rays, Napoleon fish, Moray Eels, and incredible coral reefs. We swam with a pod of dolphins, during a night dive we saw a Spanish Dancer. The crew was amazing and Peter the dive guide did an excellent job keeping us informed, and safe. The food on board was incredible, and all transfers were seamless. I highly recommend JP Marine. The value for the money was definitely there. There are more luxurious boats, but if you are interested in great service, and great diving I highly recommend JP Marine.

Awesome 1st livaboaed experience
It is nice to dive with JP marine. It is my 1st liveboard but definitely not the last one . Met a bunch of great divers from all over the world and by the end of trip , we all feels like a big family. The boat crews are really friendly and helpful. The only down side is that in some nights the cabin AC was not functioning 100% so it was a little hot. And I wish the the ratio between the divers and guide should be around 6-7 to 1 but not 13 to 1 in my trip.

Best diving I’ve ever done
The guide, Peter, had so much knowledge about the different sites and animals that lived there. Thanks to him, and a fair share of luck, we found so much amazing marine life. The crew is always joking around and they are very helpful. The food was almost too amazing, the chef really puts a lot of effort into every meal and it definitively pays off. Awful service and dangerous boat (review for MY Orion) same company
First off, I booked with JP Marine and they changed me to MY Orion a week before I left, telling me it was a better boat. These guys run a shady operation so careful. My main reason for this complaint was due to the terrible safety on board the MY Orion, following this, due to it not meeting what was stated would be minimums. Regarding safety, the boat only had 1 working zodiac, they claimed that this was because of water getting in the engine. However, this should have still be resolved. Most dives, which occur in open ocean all the divers had to be taken out and picked up in one zodiac (groups of 15). This was completely unacceptable and damaging for the equipment. Furthermore, it also meant that when divers surfaced they had to spend extended periods of time waiting for a zodiac to pick them up since multiple trips to take all 27 divers had to take place. This was all made worse by the fact that there are currents in the area and sharks (for which it is recommended not to stay on the surface). Another huge issue was the terrible maintenance of their equipment. We had multiple O-rings blow up on this trip. Which was quite understandable since they were using old broken ones (Unluckily I can't post pictures). Even after multiple issues with them (and two underwater blow outs of the O-rings) they still kept on putting in broken O-rings. This issue was made worse by the fact that the staff had no experience with divers, an example being that when o-rings blew up they thought they just had to tighten the regulator harder. The staff was also highly unskilled, without any knowledge on how to treat equipment, i.e. picking up equipment (tank, bottle and BCD) by the regulators. Throwing stuff around. They dropped a weight pocket when throwing them off the zodiac and then claimed it had not happened, until we told them that half of the boat had seen it. The dive guide was very unskilled, lost two divers due to an O-ring blow out and did not notice until we told him outside the water. Obviously no zodiacs where waiting for them. Aside from this, all the small things where pretty bad as well unluckily. The food was pretty bad (however, these boats are cheap so understandable). The day we got there (early landing) some driver dropped us off at a closed resort (before boarding), we had to wait for 3 hours for it to open. They told me that the cost was 5 euros and it was 15. On the way back to Hurghada their driver tried to drop me off about 30 min outside of the city. Again, just a lot of bad experiences. Oh and the service was terrible. First example; on the last day our dive guide knew we were unhappy, he told us how much to tip and then demanded we tip him then and there (we were not scheduled to leave the boat for another 20ish hours. A few of us told him we did not have enough cash so he told us to go to the ATM. Once he got everyones tip, he left without saying bye to all the guests. Example 2, we had the owner's wife on board and she never took responsibility for any issues. She told me it was my fault for not checking their faulty o-rings (we concluded it was probably the DIN to yoke adaptors). Example 3, on the last day we were meant to dive Elphinstone, but the guide convinced us to go back to port and we only did 1 dive (instead of the 3) there. He asked us if we would rather dive from the boat or (broken) zodiacs, we said boat and then he told the captain to leave Elphinstone. With all the fires on boats lately and the sad stories of the Aggressor in the Red Sea, the accident in California, etc. I would stay away from these guys. Definitely no care for safety. Had anything actually happened on this trip it would have been very dangerous. They were smoking by the Oxygen tanks (also by the equipment), no fire detectors, leaky rooms. Stay away.

Amazing pelagic life on a great boat
We were lucky enough to see pretty much every pelagic animal you could dream of, including some whalesharks that gatecrashed our dive on a wreck. The boat is decent for the price, communal areas and dive deck really nice. Food is excellent - I loved the Middle Eastern options. Cabins are fairly basic, very small but comfortable beds, all you really need! If you have a lot of camera gear I recommend taking a multi plug extension lead. Guiding is in pretty big groups (8-9 people) I’ve never had larger than 4 previously. But you can also choose to self guide, which we did on all the night dives.

Even though some of them spoke little to no English, they were sooooo attentive and helpful and helped me getting ready, before I even knew that I might need help. The food was also fantastic! A great mix between western and local food. We did have 3 longer sailing stretches in windy weather, so don't forget your seasickness tablets :) But luckily, they were also stocked on bored . A miracle that all survived
Cabins that smell of diesel. Two guides for 28 divers, danger of life! Zodiacs that do not work in dangerous situations. There were so many situations on our trip that, with very poor equipment and little manpower, will probably have dire consequences one day.

Liveaboard did not meet our expectations
I won't call it Highlights, but there are a few points which I would like to mention, because the were really annoying: - There were only 2 guides for 28 divers, meaning 14 persons following 1 guide. So you can't really enjoy your dives. We asked to go unguided on our own in a smaller group, but that was not allowed (even with experienced dive masters or instructors in our group). Only the last dives at the local spot was allowed unguided. - In the pictures a lot of chairs and other seatings are shown on the upper deck. But in reality, there are only a few. And since the benches don't have backrests, sitting together in the evening on the deck is not really comfortable. - The zodiacs are technically in a really bad condition: Often the engines were not starting or stopped working on the way from the boat to the dive spot. - The processes on board don't work properly. After a dive at Daedalus, we were wating for 40 minutes drifting in the red sea before a zodiac from another Safari boat was so kind to pick our group up. - Usually the boat sails from one spot to the next during night. If there are waves (there were waves every time in our case), the furniture in our cabin was creaking that loud, that it's nearly impossible to sleep.

A DISASTER FROM DAY ONE UNTIL THE END !!!
We were supposed to travel on JP Marine boat but 2 days before departure, the company informed us of a change in boat for Diamond Explorer. The boat quality / level of service was supposed to be identical but definitely not. The boat was in a very bad shape (supposed to be entirely restored in 2020), water coming from the outside in the room, nitrox not available during the all trip and we paid for it !!! The air compressor broke down during the trip and then the air had a very bad taste during the all cruise. The electricity was not working properly in the room and plumbing not working correctly. The crew was smoking chicha just right next to the pure oxygen tanks, so dangerous ! Dont dive with this company, they are scammers and they don't care about divers safety.

The fact that divesites were chosen where nobody else goes. This was our 3rd trip to the deep South and St. John's area and there was only 1 divesite we've already been to. We had a lot of fun with the crew, they made our trip become excellent.

Did not feel safe, cabins were dirty and food not vegetarian friendly, bad communication
Dive guides did not take care of us, briefings were incomplete, we had a very dangerous situation during one of the night dives due to that. Material provided was not functional, my tank kept leaking for the entire time. Even tho i said from the beginning that i dont eat meat, less vegetarian options were served and very less fish options. Cabins were dirty and not cleaned properly. Divers were sick and nobody cared about Covid. Horrible Trip!!!

Super friendly staff on the boat. Very rude management. transfer is very bad. Took us 6 hours from marsa alam to hurgadha.
Guides are very experienced and take good care of fish and corals. No touching, no gloves. Very mindful

- Very big diving groups. 14 people, 1 guide. Seems to be normal there but shouldn't! Management seems to try to save money wherever they can.
Amazing crew, diveguides and diving
All crew are super friendly and helpfull. The diveguides does an amazing job giving you the best dive experience and adjust the dive time to when it's best chance for vest diving. The briefings are really good regarding the dive sites and also with focus on safety. The gas blender onboard adjusting the nitrox O2% for every dive to give you maximun dive time for every depth. And the tanks are allways filled to 220bar or more! All this are giving you a safe and stress-free diving experience and you can focus 100% just enjoying the diving.

We had a great time with the amazing crew despite the bad weather
We had bad weather and a semi-good visibility (March 2022) but despite the weather, the crew was very helpful and friendly. The boot is showing its age but if you do not expect a 5* cruise you will definitely enjoy it. Food was great and we will come again.

Excellent value for money, excellent dive guides, great boat, low cost but correct food & cabins
JP marine offers a very competitive price, comparing with my previous experiences with other operators (Emperor, Agressor, others) JP Marine has a lower quality and variety of food and less luxury cabins while giving a 5 stars diving service and being and spacious and comfortable boat.

Not trustworthy
JP Marine forced us to move to a different boat due to overbooking. The boat we were moved to (My Gelen) had been unused for long time (it was in maintenance they said), so we had to wait in a bar until 11pm. Then they brought us to the boat (about midnight already) and the boat was in really bad shape. Everything was dirty, and too many things were not working (including aircon). In fact, two people decided to leave and did not stay for the liveaboard due to the poor conditions. The first day of navigation we had to return to port to fix things so second dive was in a bad local place near the port and it started past 5:30 pm so it was half night dive. Then the third dive was a night dive in the same spot as usual (which in this case was unfortunate because the place was not ideal and we already had about half an hour of night dive in the same spot...) In short, we will not book again with JP Marine. Things did not work well on their side.

Very friendly and helpful crew, well organised and worked hard to provide a very enjoyable and safe diving trip.
One highlight was the snorkelling experience at Dolphin bay with the large school of Dolphins. The close encounter with such a large school of Dolphins is something I will never forget. Seeing the Manta Ray performing its graceful ballet was also awesome.

Good value for money but could be better
The group only saw one hammerhead and one oceanic whitetip during the whole week. Overall, ok boat with broken AC in upper cabins and average dives at BDE. I will probably stick to SSH/North if i ever do red sea again.

Try to avoid - no AC in Egypt!
I strongly recommend that you pay a little more and do not travel on this vessel. The air conditioning system, wasn't properly working (in a 35 Celsius degree temperature). Can you imagine sleeping without air conditioning in a small cabin. Constantly, my cabin was smelling diesel. The owner of the ship, who was on board, was really with the guests or with the rest of the crew and also suggested the guests that were facing problems with the AC to sleep in the upper deck, and watch the beautiful sky. This was my 4th liveaboard trip, by far the worse.
