Beyond what we can hope for
We loved everything, the landscapes are breathtaking, the most beautiful dives of our long life as divers: mantas, sharks, turtles, napoleon wrasse, but also pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, shrimps... and even a marlin for some. A very caring crew, very helpful, a great service on board, a very beautiful and comfortable boat and promoting conviviality. Beautiful encounters on board and in the water. A huge thank you to Amaya!

Thank you for hosting us
We really enjoyed our time on the boat—it was the best experience we had in Indonesia. The hospitality was excellent, from picking us up at the airport and transferring us to the boat, to the warm welcome onboard. The daily schedule was very clear and well organized. The staff made a genuine effort to accommodate our needs, including our food preferences, and the overall operation was very well managed. However, four dives a day felt a bit too much for us, and we would have preferred more opportunities to explore some of the Raja Ampat islands. Overall, the staff did their best to ensure our safety during dives, our comfort throughout the liveaboard experience, and smooth transfers between dive sites. Thank you all.

Amazing experience with Amaya Explorer
I was extremely satisfied with the entire experience, from the comfortable dive preparation to the dives themselves. The food was delicious, and both the boat staff and dive masters were incredibly friendly and helpful. I also really loved that we went to the beach on the last day based on guests’ feedback — it was such a great touch. The boat was in excellent condition and very clean. One small suggestion would be to skip asking everyone to give a final speech on the last evening, as it might make some guests feel a bit uncomfortable.

Excellence
Seeing the Majestic Oceanic Manta Rays at Manta Sandy. The number of dives usually 4 per day or the three treks and the final party where the crew and you have an Indonesian dance Party. Not to mention the professional Massage for a very reasonable fee for my strained neck and psciatic back and leg by Hussain. Lidya the convenor and divemaster was attentive and caring beyond measure. She even helped me with my flight and hotel accommodations on my second leg of my trip when my arrangements had changed! Highly recommend this Phinisi Ironwood boat made in Saluwesi from treees from Borneo. The workmanship was very interesting and it had an excellent relaxation and outside dining area area on the generous bow deck. The bowsprit was a romantic place to sit and watch the sunset . Reminded me of the movie Titanic when l saw this young couple sitting there and holding hands after a sumptuous meal made by Trevor and his assistant. The Captain was receptive and engaging you could sit up top in the command bridge and watch all the GPS screen and navigational running of the 147 ton 110' foot yacht! All Indonesian happy attentive crew ! The boat divers was not overcrowded like my second week in another country. Even the cameras were washed and compressed air dried! Dont miss out on this dive trip . I changed my calender three times to get onto this waitlist boat and was so glad a single opening had come up. Seven nights eight days was perfect!😍

Amaya, crew, boat and experience: much more that I could expect and desire
The experience has been amazing, exceeding all possible expectations. Starting with the people: the crew. They treat you well, not as a customer, but as a guest welcomed into their home. On the diving side, they manage everything, including cleaning your equipment and handling your belongings with care. This has never happened to me before. Wilson was excellent at managing the boat, providing clear, engaging, and entertaining briefings. The chef cooks very well – he can even prepare a good Italian pasta, and that is coming from an Italian! :) The boat, Amaya, is beautiful. The rooms are tidy and well organised, the air conditioning works perfectly, and the common areas are well managed. I loved watching the stars from the deck, as well as reading or sunbathing during the day. The trip is well organised; you can choose how many dives to do each day, up to four, including amazing night dives. The weather was not always the best, but the scenery was always stunning. What can I say? Thank you very much for this amazing experience. If I have the opportunity to return to the area for a liveaboard, I will look for Amaya without a second thought.

Diving memory for a lifetime!
From pick up to drop off in Sorong, the entire experience was well-organized. Crew and dive guides were professional and experienced, a pleasure to spend time with. Rental dive equipment was top condition, there was plenty of space for getting prepared on the dive deck, wash/rinse stations for cameras, dive computers, etc. Briefings were clear and the actual diving was some of the best I have ever seen. Food & drink services was great, it's amazing what they can put together in that small ship's galley! There were some nice hikes included as part of the experience as the beauty of Raja Ampat is not entirely below water. Crew even helped recover a camera drone which yielded some of the most amazing videos of the islands. Shark Point was also very memorable. The boat itself was well-designed, but some of the rooms apparently had leaks which were sealed with tarps and reportedly would be fixed in the next refit. My cabin had no trouble with this at all during my weeklong liveaboard experience. Once that is fixed, it's a 10/10.

Good Diving, Friendy Crew and Cozy Liveaboard
We went to excellent dive sites in Misool, Piaynemu and Kri. With the booking system, we had the dive sites pretty much to ourselves but that also means that we might not be able to get the dive site of choice. The excursion to Jellyfish Lake was a nice end to the Misool segment. The crossing was done swiftly and safely. For the second half of the trip, we managed to dive a couple of classic like My Reef, Cape Kri and Melissa’s Garden. Overall we had a exciting adventure in Raja Ampat with good food, wonderful crew and nice diving.
