- Traditional hand-crafted Indonesian phinisi
- Crewed by South Sulawesi Bugis sailors
- Selection of freshly cooked Indonesian and Western meals, beach BBQs, freshly baked bread, treats, and hot coffee
Set sail on an Indonesian adventure aboard the Akomo Isseki liveaboard. A traditional hand-crafted wooden phinisi, she is crewed by the Bugis sailors of South Sulawesi and offers fantastic dive itineraries in Raja Ampat and Komodo National Park. Four naturally vented cabins with twin beds cater to 8 guests on board. Shared bathrooms feature modern facilities and traditional handicrafts. Social areas include the communal dining area and a large partially covered sun deck. Enjoy a selection of freshly cooked Indonesian and Western meals, beach BBQs, freshly baked bread, treats, and hot coffee. Days can be spent lounging on the sun deck in-between dives, kayaking, snorkeling, and island visits, and unwinding at the end of the day enjoying an incredible sunset, the sea breeze, and a cold beer with your fellow dive buddies.
The Akomo Isseki phinisi visits dive destinations, including Raja Ampat, Komodo National Park, and the Banda - Ambon crossing. In Komodo, dive at Karang Makassar and get up close with schools of Manta Rays, enjoy a dusk dive at Palau Siaba to watch the beautiful Mandarin fish perform their mating dance ritual, and walk with Dragons on Komodo island. Raja Ampat itineraries are offered from November - April and are a divers' paradise. Home to some of the most bio-diverse diving in the world, marine life encounters can include wobbegong sharks, pygmy seahorses, nudibranch galore, dugong, manta rays, and humpback whales. For the more adventurous, the Spice Island Trail from Ambon to Waisai (or reverse) is not to be missed. Better than the Luxury live abords.
Me and my husband had the best time on the Akomo Isseki. It is a beautiful wooden boat of small size that we went around to many remote islands in Raja Ampat. After our retirement we traveled extensively staying in hostels to make our dollars go farther. This boat was of that norm, so if you are looking for upscale, this is not the boat for you. The great things about this boat was the unpretentious of it. There were only 8 divers, and with only one launch, it would take one group out, come back for the other group, so on most dives it was just our small group of 5. As opposed to luxury boats we have been on where they drop 14 people on the same reef at the same time. As good breathers we were aloud to stay as long as we had air, rather than being limited by a predetermined time limit. That was especially nice for us. The dive masters ate dinner with us at the same table every night, so we all got to share and talk about the diving that day together. On the luxury boat the DMs were eatting with the crew, so we missed the evening chatter. By the end of the trip all the crew felt like friends, as opposed to servents. With fans instead of A/C, there was none of the going into the cold for dinner. There is limited water, but when we ran out, due to 5 girls with long black hair, we simply went to a port and refilled. I would love to go on another trip on the Akomo Isseki!

Loved It
great experience. While technically I had more dives than the others in the group, I actually felt the least experieinced, especially when we were in stronger currents. But Alex always made sure everyone was safe and confortable underwater. The boat is not a luxury experience, but it has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. The gear was always in great shape and the crew had everything ready for us whenever we needed it. Would definitely book again

Amazing livaboard to explore Komodo, you won't regret booking this boat!
I had the most amazing time on Akomo Isseki. The diving itself is absolutely incredible with beautiful coral and lots of cool things to see. Our crew were just amazing, our freshly prepared food was a huge highlight with lots of variety, fruit, vegetables etc to cater to every taste. Apart from that we were immediately welcomed like family and everyone always had a smile on their face which provided a fantastic atmosphere. Alex is an incredible dive master who helped guide us through the currents as most of us weren't used to dealing with them - he is also super funny and always made us feel safe! The boat itself was really comfortable and has all the basics you need (it did get a little hot sometimes at night but fans were enough for me.) Overall, I can't fault this trip, I was sad to leave all the amazing people I met and all the fishies I saw and would come back again in a heartbeat. Thank you everyone for a trip of a lifetime!!

My first live aboard could not have been better!
My first live aboard could not have been better! Akomo Isseki boat is well design to offer a great experience (the design of the boat allows socializing and chilling). A maximum of 8 divers is the correct number to really see wildlife and not only bubbles. The crew and guides were very professional and we avoided diving in times when it was too crowded.. so basically we had most of the dive sites for ourselves and saw a lot of wildlife. The food amazing and plenty. I bought a bag with snacks and did not use it.

- Few divers, so you actually get to see wildlife and not a lot of bubbles. Great food, night card games, friendly staff, professional guidance. The boat is very comfortable. The AC in the boat is not needed (at least in Komodo area).

It was my first liveaboard and I was skeptical at first, especially because of the good price offer, but the boat has a very efficient team, the cook chef did every goog menu, all dives were spectacula
What's great is that we always see a different landscape every day with different dive sites that the guides know like the back of their hand. Being grateful and living in the moment is the best thing that can happen.
