Magical Aurora
This is definitely a 5 star liveaboard experience and I will be recommending it to all liveaboard enthusiasts. Each and every day of the trip had a new element of surprise both above and below water and the great staff plus the cool dive masters only made the experience even more fulfilling. Food was plentiful and varied and the large cabins with good size bathrooms had just the right amount of harmonic interior design. The Aurora is truly a charming wooden vessel and the Ambon-Sorong trip is as close as you can get to a magical experience. The reason for my two 4 stars given is due to the fact that alcohol is not included in the price (we also nearly emptied the bar for strong alcohol) and that only cash payments were accepted onboard even though briefing material stated creditcards accepted. P.S. I will never mock a muck dive again!

Unique diving and travel experience in a remote paradise - exceeded expectations
An amazing experience. We were looking for a world class dive experience, we got that and much more - an opportunity to see a spectacular scenery above water and top class service from a very friendly and attentive crew. It was absolute escapism from our hectic city life.

Good trip but unfortunately not the expected itinerary
The Aurora liveaboard was good (food, accommodation), the diving was well managed and Haniefan was an excellent dive guide. The only disappointment was that instead diving at Banda Neira and Nusa Laut as per the itinerary on the Liveaboard.com website we spent 3 days in the Dampier strait which was ok but not the reason we chose this specific trip. I'd suggest anyone booking on the website should confirm directly whether the itinerary shown is accurate.

Great boat, great diving, great food and service.
The fauna of the Komodo region - both above water (the Dragons) and below (the Manta and abundance of tropical reef fish, invertebrates and corals). This was enhanced with a very comfortable cruising vessel and very knowledgeable and helpful dive crew.

- 1. Beautiful reef dive - with Manta Rays a two sites. 2. Terrific boat with sizeable bedroom and bathrom ensuites. 3. tasty food with wonderful variety and good serving sizes.
An awesome journey with the best crew.
From Maumere to Ambon, everyday was an adventure. From the muck in Flores to the reefs of Alor, islands of birds and snakes to the untouched gigantic corals of the Banda Sea, the only bad thing was not having enough air to stay hours with the biggest school of hammerheads it is possible to see. Awesome trip, thanks for the ride!

Great trip in a stunning screnery
Most colorful and pristine dive sites, a friendly and helpful crew and a well designed boat, what more could you want? Dievb sites like "Four Kings" or "Blue Magic" are the icing of the cake.

Fantastic diving on a well run ship.
Many highlights. The great variety of sea life, corals and plants that are Raja Ampat. Interesting side excursions. Enjoying comfortable shipboard life with an international mix of people.

Great boat, fantastic helpful crew . A really good week
A 10 minute dive with a huge oceanic manta, on another dive 4 black mantas playing with our dive group for ages. Shoals and shoals of huge variety of fish and beautiful coral everywhere. lots of macro stuff too. All with the wrap around of a good boat, a great crew and beautiful scenery. Worth the LONG trip to get there (but don't bother to stay in Sorong unless to sleep)

One of the best liveaboard
I highly recommend Aurora to dive in the Komodo. The boat is super comfortable. The staffs extremely dedicated. You can ask anything on the boat or under water and they will find it for you. If you are a photographer they handle your camera with a lot of care. It is the first time I never had to worry about my camera. Food is very good. Breakfast is a la carte. Aurora will guarantee you the perfect diving vacation. It is one of the best liveaboard I have done

Unbelievable, incredible dive sites, experienced operator.
The quality of the reef in the remote parts of Raja is amazing. Some of the best diving I've done. Dive team is on point, they know the sites well and you'll get the most from each dive. Divers are appropriately grouped together on experience. Boat team only add to this, service is high standard, small touches like warm drinks after the nightdive, midday homemade cakes are well thought out. NB. South Missool, Raja Ampat trip. Impeccable reef, large pools of fish, good macro. Less large pelagic animals.

An amazing trip
On the second day or our 12 days on Aurora in Raja Ampat I got an ear infection so I only had 3 dives. I really thought that I would be miserable being stuck on a boat while everyone else was having the dive of there life. But I wasn’t. I had a great time because the crew, the staff, even the boat itself made it a great vacation. The food was excellent and always prepared and served with smiles. If I needed anything I just had to ask. The cabin was well appointed, comfortable and cleaned each day. The lounge and dining area was large, bright and comfortable as well as a great social space, and the long dining table brought us all together like family. The dive deck was so spacious, well organized and always kept in order, staff was attentive and everything was taken care of in regards to equipment set up and preparation. The upper sundeck was large and had plenty of comfortable loungers and in the hot sun of the day they pulled a screen shade over so one could enjoy it without getting baked. In the early morning and evenings it was great for sunrise and sunset, even a cocktail party or two. For those of us who like to smoke the rear deck was a designated “smokers lounge” and a lot of laughter was had and many a Bintang consumed. It was also a great spot to hang with the crew. Despite my misfortune this was still one of the best vacations I have had thanks to the wonderful staff and crew, amazing food, the Dune Aurora herself, the incredibly fun, interesting and diverse guests and of course the stunning beauty of Raja Ampat. I look forward to taking a trip on Aurora again in the not to distant future. This time with diving! Thank you all for this unforgettable experience. Namaste

Definitly worth going. Not top notch for big fish.
The journey is really long especially if you are coming from Europe or the US. Boat itself is 8/10 but the service and the crew are 11/10. Never seen before such excellent service. Diving will disappoint those who are looking for big fish and huge sharks. But will be ideal for those who seek virgin locations and being the only boat around with huge biodiversity.

- Service on boat is unmatchable. Most virign and untrodden paths. Biodiversity and virgin diving locations.
Beautiful boat, exceptional crew! Loved every minute on the Aurora!

Best Komodo diving experience
1) The itinerary was dependent on weather, winds and tides which allowed guests to fully experience the safest and best diving. As we all know, dive safaris are trips into the wild and mother nature ultimately determines what you can do or see. This was carefully evaluated by the crew members and cruise manager, and we covered 21 dives in both the north and the south of Komodo National park. During the first and last day, land trips around the parks were carefully planned to suit the no dive flight time which allowed guests to never feel bored. 2) Hospitality and Food - It is amazing what can be whipped up on board with carefully planned meals by the chef and his team. We were very well fed with freshly made whole foods throughout the trip and not one dish was repeated over the last 8 days. Full service was also provided regarding dive gear assembly, DRYING, and movement of suitcases from the airport to the cabin. Cabins and boat were kept in immaculate condition with the crew working round the clock to clean and dry every crevice. 3) The extra little touches - I spent my 30th birthday on the boat and was not expecting anything. The crew did a whole Indonesian feast and a whole birthday cake made from scratch! There were drums, guitar and metal spoons involved in this little performance. Best birthday ever! 10/10 recommend Dune Aurora to anyone who is looking for a full and complete diving experience without missing the destinations that require gravity and feet as well. Pink beach too touristy? They dropped us off at a secret beach that was also pink and we got the best drone shots. Padar island trek for your IG posts and stalking mating komodos? Or a thousand bats covering the night sky during a sunset? Dreamy... I traveled solo and Komodo is one of the most romantic and magical holidays one can ever ask for. This is my second time back and this live aboard experience proceeds my expectations. Counting down to the next time I sail with Dune Aurora again, hopefully to the many other Indonesian dive havens the earth can offer
