Fab luxury small ship cruise, best way to see Alaska
Fabulous way to see SE Alaska. Excellent cruise, itinerary, crew and food. Shore visits at small communities, glacier views and walks through temperate rainforest. Fellow passengers were well-travelled and interested in the natural world. Evening kayaking on calm waters, a highlight.

The cruise on the Alaskan Dream was a true once-in-a-lifetime experience!
What an incredible experience on the Alaskan Dream! With the limited number of passengers, it felt like a personal journey through Southeast Alaska. We visited remote villages, connected with local cultures, and enjoyed amazing opportunities to kayak, hike, and watch humpback whales up close. The crew was top-notch — friendly, knowledgeable, and provided exceptional service every step of the way. Highly recommend this intimate adventure!

Fabulous trip
Visited two islands where members of Tlingit tribe gave us a wealth of knowledge about their everyday life, their customs and what it’s like to be a Tlingit. And the Inside passage was breath taking.

Great trip. Great Crew, great fellow passengers and great wildlife encounters and scenery made for a wonderful adventure.
Every day had fabulous views out of our two, large cabin windows that stretched accross the entire width of our king size bed. Meals were usually on board, served between 7:30am-8am, at 1pm and at 7pm, which worked out great, in terms of not disturbing our activities and leaving lots of time to explore the area. Meals were also prepared by a chef, (unusual flavors & dishes), served by a caring & attentive staff, and were delicious! Best highlights were viewing from the top deck (and sometimes off the front bow) the humpback whale bubble feeding behaviors (accompanied by crew playing over our speqker system the live whale calls from the group we were observing, using an underwater mic), occassional breaching, and their tail slapping behavior. Also saw a small group of Orca Killer Whales, rafts of otter floating by, bald eagles, etc. Views into some of the glacier fiords were amazing, as mini icebergs floated by, and the mist, clouds and sunshine continued to change the surrouding views by the minute. Even the flowing patterns in the water behind the boat were amazing as they danced in the sunlight! There were three cultural presentations, all presented by members of that culture, so they were fabulous and so informative. I was most impressed at how much the teenagers expressed respect for their elders and pure joy at being able to be a member of such a close community that worked hard to ensure that their culture and traditions were be passed down to the nect generation.

This was a wilderness excursion every American should experience ... at least once.
Watching the bears catch salmon, Watching the Humpback whales feed, especially when they breached as a pod (3 times). Watching the bears fish for salmon. The spectacular views from on deck. The opportunities to photograph and video some of America's most wondrous sights and do them in perfect weather ... and in close proximity. Having guides with extensive, firsthand knowledge of the many sights and creatures. Having a captain who wouldn't compromise our experience, even when there was justification.
