Teman, Indonesia

The Teman liveaboard is a traditional Indonesian phinisi offering year-round dive and adventure cruises in the Indonesian archipelago. At 36m length, she caters to up to 12 guests in 5 well-equipped cabins. Each cabin has 1double and 1 single bed, as well as en-suite bathrooms with hot water showers, individually controlled AC, integrated storage units, charging stations, reading lamps and portholes.

The Teman phinisi has been designed to offer as much space as possible for guests to relax and enjoy the incredible surroundings during their journey. The large covered outdoor area is the perfect place for guests to gather to enjoy the delicious home-cooked cuisine on offer. The chef's specialities include freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes. The sun decks offer both open and covered areas with bean bags and loungers, ideal for soaking up the sun in between dives or enjoying the sea breeze.

The team behind the Teman liveaboard have 20 years experience sailing across Indonesia, and the 9 crew members include a western Cruise Director who is also an experienced dive instructor with many years spent operating liveaboards in Indonesia. He is supported by two local divemasters. From September to May Teman covers East Indonesia, including Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, North Maluku, Triton Bay and Wakatobi. In June she moves to Komodo park and settles there for the season until September.

Diving with manta rays, friendliness of the staff and the knowledge of the dive crew. They took us to the sites which they knew would be the best for the conditions and made everything so easy for us. The food on board was incredible, the cabins were clean and comfortable and the trip was very relaxing.

Amazing experience!

I had an amazing time on the Teman. The staff is incredibile, they fullfill every wish for you. Also the diving instructures are very professional and helpful. I have not much diving experience and felt very comfortable with them and gained trust very quickly. High comfort in cabins, a lot of space on the boat to chill and relax. I loved the half day trips to the islands with the view points. The only thing that was missing for me was Indonesian food, they kitchen is rather western, which was really good but a bit more of Indonesian kitchen would have been nice.
