Highlights
With the ethos 'Built by divers, for divers', the MY Firebird offers fantastic year-round Red Sea diving safaris. Itineraries are 7 - 11 nights long and cover some of the best routes in the Red Sea. The North Safari explores the reefs and wrecks around the Sinai, diving at the world-famous Thistlegorm, Abu Nuhas, and Gubal, with potential stops at Ras Mohammed for reef lovers. For more experienced divers, the safaris that head out to the Brothers are the best chance to experience stunning drift diving and get up close with large pelagic marine life. The large dive platform at the back of the boat has ample space for kitting up and allows easy access to the tenders or dive sites. Nitrox is available for those certified.
Topside, the MY Firebird caters to just 16 guests in 8 ensuite cabins. Each cabin also has individually controlled air conditioning and reading lights, charging points, and storage space. Seven cabins have twin bunk beds, and there is also 1 cabin with a queen size bed available. Social areas included 3 sun decks with loungers, beanbags, and sofas, the perfect place to unwind at the end of a day of diving and relax with a drink whilst enjoying the sea breeze. The onboard chef will prepare 3 delicious buffet meals and plenty of snacks throughout the day to satisfy hungry divers.

Super Trip- Crew made the difference
What an amazing trip. The crew absolutely made the trip. Everyone was so accommodating, friendly and worked hard to make this an amazing trip. The Dive professionals on this trip were some of the best I have ever worked with. Safety was paramount but they made sure we had fun as well. The dive briefs were excellent, full of history, nature and detailed dive plans. The crew was always there with a helping hand, a friendly smile, sage advice and an attitude of service. The crew really made this trip extra special. We joked, had fun but always professional. Food was plentiful, fresh, huge variety and delicious. There was food after every dive. Cabins were large with ample storage space and a large bathroom. Water was hot and the cabin steward kept the place clean and tidy. Boat was in good repair and had all the necessary items for a week long trip. Dive Sites- its the RED SEA…. AMAZING! Dolphins, Thistlegorm, Rays, Wrecks, Eels, Fish, Fish, Fish, Nudibranchs and so much more. Prepared to be amazed. Thanks again for a great trip.

Well organized trip with great boat and crew
The trip was very well organized alltogether. The times between the dices were a bit short sometimes due to the shorter days. If you want a more relaxed daily routine I recommend the summer months.

Very nice dives, too little wrecks
Elphinestone visit was unexpected, but a very nice surprise. While this is known for sharks, we did not see any, however on the next dives at the brothers we saw a very nice shark. While the name was brothers and wrecks we did not see that many wrecks (3dives at thistlegorm, 1 at Giannis D. And 1 at the barge (which is a very small boat not really a big wreck))

A nice enough week, but nothing to write homeabout.
Outstanding food which would be 6 out of 5 stars. BUT - weren't there for the food. Our issues: - less dives than advertised (18 instead of 20), with only two dives on first and last day and one dive cancelled - guide didn't point out stuff - boat not comfortable in winter, narrow space (people preferred to resort to their cabins) - twins with bunks instead of side by side means you cannot sit upright anywhere and have to lie down - weird handling of a problem with the booking (twins are not doubles) - only seemingly cheap with a lot of fees that you pay later (admittedly known beforehand) Fifth liveaboard - we would not book the Firebird again.

Overall, great trip and good value for money. Food unexpectedly good. Crew relatively friendly and helpful, but not very engaged
The dives, the food, the other guests. The boat is well maintained and comfortable, but it is dated and the cabins are really, really basic and tight. Also, it would be nice if the package was really all inclusive. Between the National par fees, the tips, the rental of some equipments, the drinks, the balloon etc. The add-ons are really significant (€900 in our case). There is really no need to price separately, and the payment logistics (currency exchange, credit cards, cash) becomes a gigantic pain in the rear. The issue is not that it is expensive, it is not. The issue is that it would be easier to pay upfront and be done with it, instead of waiting for calculations and payments with 10 other guests

- Diving is really excellent and the Red Sea deserves its reputation. Dive masters were super competent, but not very friendly. Almost gruff. I felts safe, but I did,not feel that the dive masters enjoyed taking us diving or was interested in teaching us anything.
