Launched in late 2004, the 33-metre-long Discovery has 12 cabins. Each voyage has just 24 guests, meaning you can experience an intimate and peaceful cruise with high standards of customer care. Accessing the boat is easy thanks to inclusive transfers. The air-conditioned cabins have a private bathroom and large full-wall windows from where you can watch the outside world in comfort and privacy; you can spend a lazy morning in bed and still enjoy the vistas! Great views are also available from public areas, with floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge, bar, and dining room. The sundeck is another terrific vantage point. When it comes to mealtimes, dine on delicious cuisine from Panama or enjoy an al fresco BBQ, accompanying your dishes with inclusive drinks. Kayaks are available and entering / returning from the water is hassle free with the special lowering and lifting platform.
Spend seven days exploring Panama from the comfort of the Discovery, departing from Panama City and finishing in Portobelo, returning to Panama City by train, or vice versa. Meet the Embera Indians of the Darien Jungle and learn about their traditional way of life and their culture that has endured for hundreds of years. Swim, snorkel, and kayak around the Pearl Islands, journey along the Panama Canal, passing through several locks, and explore the picturesque Gatun Lake. Discover an array of wildlife at the stunning Barro Colorado Island, keeping your eyes peeled for crocodiles, sloths, monkeys, and iguanas, as well as diverse colourful birdlife, and journey to the historic Fort San Lorenzo along the wildlife-rich Chagres River. Explore the colonial legacies of Portobelo before taking the scenic train ride back to Panama City.

A once in a lifetime experience
Seeing the canal up close on a small ship. Visiting the villagers in Durian Jungle The day on the beach at the Pearl Islands and fabulous seafood lunch. Our guide, Ian was knowledgable, enthusiastic and worked so hard to make the trip perfect. The crew were friendly, professional and the food was wonderful! We enjoyed getting to know our fellow passengers.

Trip of a lifetime!
Going through the canal, of course. But I loved seeing all the wildlife too, the monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles and myriad birds.
