Highlights

  • 1000+ square meters of sail
  • Sail with no engine support
  • Nitrox available on board

The SS Mary Anne offers amazing small-ship Galapagos cruises. She is a beautiful 52m sailing ship with over 1000 m2 of canvas sails. This 3-masted schooner is one of the only ships in the Galapagos that can sail without engine support. When possible, navigating by sail means a peaceful journey with no engine noise, tempting whales and dolphins to swim alongside the ship.

Catering to a maximum of 16 guests, the S/S Mary Anne Galapagos offers 6 double and 6 single cabins. All cabins have private bathrooms with hot water and are designed with one double lower berth and a single upper berth, and two cabins have lower berths. Because the SS Mary Anne was built for 24 guests but caters to a maximum of 16, there is plenty of space to relax. Guests can choose the sun deck with open-air seating or the bridge to enjoy the fresh sea air. The dining room, kitchen, lounge, entertainment area, and library are on the main deck. Meals can also be served al-fresco to enjoy the stunning Galapagos views and sunsets. Enjoy international and local Ecuadorian cuisine with freshly sourced ingredients.

S/S Mary Anne offers two exciting Galapagos expedition itineraries to choose from. The Galapagos Naturalist guide on board will ensure an exciting and educational cruise with fantastic wildlife encounters. On the 'Galapagos West' itinerary, guests can explore Santiago, Isabela Island, Santa Cruz, Floreana, and Fernandina to have amazing encounters with Sea Lions, Penguins, and amazing snorkeling. On the East itinerary, points of interest include Darwin Bay, Santa Fe, Gardner Bay, and Bartolome, with lava bubbles and penguins!

The SS Mary has no supplement on single cabins, so guests traveling alone can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Galapagos and make friends that will last a lifetime. Don’t miss this exciting adventure; book online today to secure your space.

Old ship navigates the Galápagos Islands

Way to see and explore the natural beauty and animals of Ecuador. A long lens camera is a must! The Mary Anne is a super old sailboat whose sails only go up twice in a week. The first and last days were a wash as the boat was not ready and the crew did not want to do an excursion on the day of departure (100% were on their cell phones calling and checking messages). Passengers were from UK, USA and Europe but it was a very old group. Based on the very rich price and dumbed down excursions, I cannot recommend.

Ship kept to itinerary though excursions were dumbed down for the out-of-shape seniors; if you love meat, the food is great — as a vegetarian, it was not good (think meat substitutes); friendly crew but not a single one spoke English!!

Great crew, fantastic destination, pretty decent ship

Seeing all the animals was great, Crew was very friendly and helpful, safety seemed important. Snorkeling gear good, shorty wetsuits were $25 for week and needed. October weather fair as expected, seas a bit rough. The arrival airport transfer arrangements were quite disapppointing, cobbled together on the spot after a long wait with no contact person available. There was supposed to be an excursion last day, but guide had a flight that required leaving boat at 7 AM. Food basic/bland but well prepared. Able to accommodate different diets. I had low expectations for the sailing portion and these were met. Before leaving, I noticed last minute deals for half of what I paid for trip.

Magical experience

Visiting the Galapagos is the most extraordinary experience. We snorkeled 1-2 times a day, swimming with penguins, sealions, sharks, giant turtles, rays, and all kinds of beautiful fish. On land, the birds and iguanas and tortoises were amazing and everywhere. And we visited one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen.
