Awesome First Liveaboard Experience
Night dive to watch mantas feed and a dive at dusk with many, many nurse sharks. The bbq on a literal deserted island was incredible too. One of the best views of the Milky Way ever.

To sum up my experience in one sentence is difficult so I'll just say it was beautiful breathtaking dives.
The highlight of my trip was seeing mantas. I saw 8-10 mantas at a cleaning station and a few mantas here and there at other dive spots. To watch such a beautiful and powerful manta "flying" through the water is something I will never forget and in my memory will often revisit :-)

Wonderful experience
Seeing the most beautiful, vibrant coral I have ever seen. The two mantas at the cleaning station. Swimming next to a whale shark for 15 minutes. The entire crew was informative and welcoming, the food was delicious and the whale shark they made in the sand was unbelievable.

The best diving trip I have ever been on by a long way.
Fantastic diving. Collection at Male airport stressful and messy and it is not a great place to wait 12 hours for a flight. Although there were 20 divers on board, there was plenty room in the public spaces so it didn't feel overcrowded. It was a bit awkward with the crew not having any cabins of their own because if you get up early for a coffee you disturb them sleeping in the lounges. The crew were friendly and helpful. The other divers were also fun to be with.

Great trip
Overall, i had a great trip despite not seeing any of main draw cards (Mantas & Whalesharks) but i went in the low season and with the wrong type of moon. I was also lucky to have a boat that wasn't full and a great group. All the staff were excellent from the dive guides to the chef. I want to go back already!

Awesome Dive Trip in the Maldives!!
I was with Emperor Voyager for the Christmas week. From the time I arrived in Male till the time I got on to my next LOB, the process has been smooth. Emperor being a foreign-owned LOB/Dive Company, is structured, well-organized and have a team of hardworking and awesome Staff… from the Operation Manager, Dive Guides, Captain to the folks who help you up to the dhoni after each dive, the Chef & bar man to the ones who clean your room (always a clean room after your second morning dive), I would consider this a dive paradise on earth. I am not sure if I would pay a little extra for a more luxurious LOB as Emperor Voyager is itself a luxury with a very reasonable price! The itineraries were pretty standard as of any other LOBs… South/North Male, Vaavu and South/North Ari Atoll but the difference will be the dive sites. I had a number of “best” in this trip… countless of reef sharks (big fat ones!), nurse sharks, close encounter (almost face to face) with the Manta rays, beautiful overhangs and varieties of fishes. My most memorable Christmas Eve is with Emperor Voyager when we had the Mantas loitering around our boat the whole night (because the crew hung the spotlight to attract them); not to mention nurse sharks too!!! :) I would highly recommend Emperor Voyager if you are looking for an unforgettable dive trip! Well done, Bernie & his team of dedicated and customer-oriented Staff! Special mention about Liveaboard.com – I booked 2 of my dive trips with them and I applaud their customer service – from the time I pressed the button to book the trip up to prior my departure, the Staff will ensure I stay informed of the copious details. They were very prompt in their email replies and provide the specific answers to your questions (unlike most agents who enjoyed cut-and-paste answers). They are definitely my #1 booking agent for my next dive trip! Special thanks to Nicole and Debbie… Hope to be served by you again next time!

Some good dives, some quite average.
Manta ray night dive was quite an experience, and SOME of the reefs were spectacular. However, about 50% of the diving I would describe as average. Some reefs are completely overgrown with algae, many reefs are 60-80% bleached with scarce fish life. We did one night dive at a site where nurse sharks 'used to' be fed (by the resort). We saw feeding tins on the sea floor, I suspect this practise is still going on, certainly the behaviour I observed is far from natural. I would prefer not to dive such sites, as a marine biologist I know of many examples where changing animal behaviour through feeding is hugely detrimental to the animal involved and can also lead to problems with them associating divers with food. So overall, some good dives, some average.

Diving with guides with indepth local dive site knowledge makes all the difference!
Vessel with soul (feels like a proper boat!) and unparalelled local dives site knowledge from guides with 15 + years of diving in Maldives made this one of the best liveaboard trips thus far (after 20+). also really good prize compared to other operators. food some of the freshest and well cooked on any trip thus far, and the local knowledge made this a real 'diving for serious divers' trip. Also smiling and atentive crew that made it all a joy!

Amazing
It was an excellent experience to do a trip with the Emperor Voyager. The diving was great and it was supported by excellent service levels. We spotted 3 spieces of sharks, mantas, eagle rays, sting rays, turtles and many many other interesting fish. The guides took personal interest in educating about the environment, fish life and improvement of diving skills. One notable focus area for the dive guides was sustainable diving with minimum impact to coral and sea life which was very good. We had less than 20 dives at the start of the trip and the dive guides helped us improve our diving skills considerably. We will definitely recommend a dive trip with the emperor group liveaboard specifically the Emperor voyager for all diving enthusiasts

My BEST liveaboard experience till date
This trip was not just another dive trip where we see the fish and corals and come back. The dive instructors on board - Chris, Daniella and Stina, are all extremely experienced and passionate divers. We learnt not only diving discipline from them, but also a sense of responsibility towards the underwater life. Dive briefings have never been so much fun before as they were on this trip, thanks to Chris. Needless to say, Maldives offers an amazing view of the fish and corals. The staff on board was excellent to say the least. Food was fabulous. Me being an Indian vegetarian, they ensured my friends and I got enough choice of food, unlike other liveaboards where we normally get just one vegetarian dish. Overall a 5 out of 5 experience on Emperor Voyager. Kudos to the entire team for giving us an amazing week and teachings for life.

Diving better than my dreams
From the arrival at the airport to the moment we stepped foot back at Male the crew was fantastically helpful. Voyager is kept exceptionally clean and is very well maintained. The dive guides were incredibly, very knowledgeable and engaged, adjusting the schedule to the groups interests and desires, and even went out of their way to find sites where diving and snorkeling were possible after I had a severe reverse block and couldn't dive. The food was absolutely incredible, with a good variety of cuisines. I can't wait to come back and spend another week with Chris and the Voyager!

Lots of great memories
Diving: very good instructions at the beginning and all dive briefings. No gloves policy shows how that boat company cares about environment - other boats should take it as a positive example. Dive instructor challenged my diving group to the limits but was great in the end (therefore recommend you should be a really experienced diver). Boat: unfortunatelly mold in the bathroom (wooden door), little but cute rooms, great outdoor eating and common area. Good Security instructions Amazing flashlight at the back of the boat, therefore whale shark and mantas during nights. Food: very good. Wine menu could be better but of course personal opinion.

Okay
The highlight was the poor guiding. After several arguments between the whole group and the guide we decided to switch guides. Then it was better for us. But then the guide was not really guiding the other group. Even they complained. We are working in the industry and ended up with guiding ourselves and caring for other guests. In one case we brought a panicking old guy out of the blue to hook on on the reef. The guide came minutes later and blamed the guests. He did not even cancel the dive even when the guy signalled heart speed and panic and low air. If I would be the boss I would just fire this brick. Irresponsible and careless. There was no apology from him at all.
