Superbly run operation
Carpe Diem is a spacious, modern and well run live-aboard. Management obviously takes great pride in their fleet and this is reflected by the entire crew. The dive dhoni is well equipped and has space for all the divers Customer satisfaction is the goal of this operation and they succeeded during the week we were on the Carpe Diem. Hopefully we will be able to experience this again in the future

Great time aboard Carpe Diem
Absolutely amazing diving in Maldives. Maldives has the reputation as a bucket-list, "must do" destination, and that's for a reason. The diving was spectacular, and Carpe Diem is a great way o see it. I'd definitely sail with them again.

Breathe Taking Diving
So many, wonderful Manta encounters, a whaleshark off the back of the boat, getting in the water with a school of pilot whales, having a baby eagle ray following us for an entire dive, a gorgeous, huge purple frog fish and my husband finding an Ornate Ghost Pipefish are a few.

- Amazing animal encounters, relaxed dive schedule & knowledgeable dive guides. The service was out standing, there was a problem with a broken spring in our mattress, they flippedbit to make it manageable and within 48 hours had a new one delivered to the boat!
Great 3 star Liveaboard and Trip
It was nice to see the whale shark, but I wonder how stressed it is based on the number of divers in the water, it was a free for all. The Reef mantas were awesome as well as swimming with the nurse sharks. Our Guide was great and all in all a great time. The boat was clean and the staff was friendly.

Great trip on Carpe Diem
I appreciated the care of the crew, the divers on the boat were very friendly, no drama and no issues, everyone was so supportive of my 11.5 year old son who just started diving. It was a great value for money.

- I loved the friendliness of staff, their knowledge of the sea and the diving, the room that we took on the top floor was massive, which we really enjoyed!
Beautiful sea life with a shark seen on almost every dive, plus whale sharks and mantas!
We had a great experience on this 7-day trip aboard Carpe Diem. The boat is very professionally run, well-designed, well-maintained, and clean. The staff were super friendly, and the food was far better than we expected. We did three dives per day and always saw great dive sites teeming with life. Some highlights were seeing hammerheads, tiger sharks, and countless rays at the tuna factory, swimming with friendly nurse sharks, snorkeling with giant whale sharks covered in remoras, observing many manta rays swooping by, and finding at least four octopuses. Truly a wonderful diving vacation!

Excellent experience!
Great trip - tons of mantas, a brief hammerhead sighting, the Thanksgiving dinner, the dive guides' freehand drawing skills of the sites, lovely beach barbecue, great spread of tropical fruits with breakfast. Fantastic crew and customer service. Food was overall 4.5 stars - just a few things were overly salty and the shrimp was somehow always overcooked but everything else was delicious. Company had a rep on board who regularly audits trips to make sure customers are happy and continually improve their product which is great to see. Very nice dive dhoni - super well maintained, clean bathroom, helpful crew ready with a spare o-ring when needed. Would have liked to see dive guides rotate and they had a bit of a challenge managing a pair of divers whose consumption, even on XL tanks, shortened dives so they should have rotated them as well instead of sticking them with the same group! Dive sites also got congested with other boats despite the companies supposedly deconflicting itineraries - it seems the Maldives has hit that point, but would have liked to see the schedule staggered or some other creativity to get us away from congestion. Would go with this company or boat again if we came back to the Maldives!

Very nice
Took this nice diving trip at the end of the Season, after us the boat went in the harbor. Which means that the weather conditions were far from perfect, unfortunately. However, as it is the Maldives, we still had some very good dives, 60 Minutes with Mantas, Night dive with sharks, warm water even when rain from above. Guides were nice, boat was nice (but there is a reason why normally they replace a lot when not on tour), food was nice. Gear also OK, not the best, not the worst. Recommended. Bonus fact: if you book at the end of any season the prices drop significantly ;-)

A Fabulous Dive Crew that kept Murphy's Law at Bay!!
We were returning customers having dived with Carpe Vita 2 years before. Though Carpe Diem lack the luxuries of her sister boat, the dive crew made the difference; a special thanks to Shamoon who was a fantastic happy dive guide and took great care of us underwater and on land. And to Inthi who kept his cool inspite of having to deal with Murphy's Law from a broken engine on the dive dohni to a broken nitrox air compressor. Guys (sorry I cant remember all the names), thank you so so much for trying so hard to make things right as well as the special effort to give us another opportunity to spot a whaleshark even though we missed it the day before. That swim with the whaleshark was truly awesome :) !

The transfer from the airport and back again was perfect. We had an amazing week on board of the Carpe Diem. The crew put us to the best dive spots and we 've seen a lot of rays, sharks and mantas all week. I think the highlight were the night dive with nurse sharks, the whaleshark and the Manta point. The guides were excellent. Felt save and in good hands all the time. Also the crew did everything to make us feel comfortable on board. Cabin was fine and tidy. Food was great. Special veggie ootions were always available and delicious. The boat is very large. Plenty of options to find a nice place to hang out. The other guests were also nice people. It was overall a very cool experience. Best liveaboard ever! Would book this tour again!

We had a great week diving at Carpe Diem
To rate/understand our review correctly: It was our first liveaboard experience and first time Maldives, but we are experienced divers (DM) and seen lots of places especially around South East Asia (Sipadan, Komodo, Perhantian Island, Koh Phi Phi, Bohol, Bali, Alor...). We enjoyed the liveaboard as part of our honeymoon and we looked forward and had great expectations. Beforehand we had one week of great diving in Alor (Indonesia). Service: The service at the Carpe Diem was good. Most staff were friendly and welcoming. As my wife had dengue fever, they made sure, she is fine and went with her to a small island to see a doctor. They also brought us to a private hospital as soon as we arrived close to Male. Equipment: The rental equipment was in between ok and bad. The good things: they had fins in my size (EUR 47) and new wetsuits. The bad things: the rest was quite old, partly not working. The nitrox tester onboard the dhoni was not working properly as well. Diving: Con: As we had high expectations we were a bit disappointed. Of course, at this time of the year the visibility is not good (5-15m), but also the reefs were almost dead. The size of the groups was between 3-9 guests for 1 guide. In general, we were a group of 6 with 1 guide. That might be okay in calm waters, but if it comes to current this is not what I would prefer. We hoped to see big stuff and get close, but that was not really the case. We saw Mantas once and several times reef sharks. (yes, we are spoiled ;)) Pro: At one of the two night dives we saw nurse sharks, that was good. Diving from the dhoni was comfy and the diving was well organized. Food: The food was one of the best things on the trip. They made fresh food for every meal and it was always ready when we arrived from the diving. If we had special wishes, the Chef always tried to make us happy. There were vegetarian options at every meal and it looked good as well! Boat: The boat is a few years (10) old - but in good condition. The cabins are a bit noisy though. Sum up: In total it was a great experience and we had fun. But for us the value for the money is better somewhere else (Komodo with land based diving). Best regards, Nils

Mid day snacks and all meals were excellent. The made local traditional food as well as typical western food. They even shared recipes with us. Everyone on the boat was very attentive to our needs. The dive guides were very professional and had great pre-dive briefings. Even the bar keeper was super friendly helping me stop dolphins. Book any trip with the Carpe Maldives company and you will be more than satisfied.

Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed this liveaboard
We realised a dream to snorkel with whale sharks. All the dives were wonderful. It was super that each one of us recieved his own bottle for the trip. If we can suggest something, I'm sure you could improve the ecological way in reducing all the wrappings (tea, coffee, sugar, cookies...) you can have boxes with loose coffee per example.

Deeply grateful for this trip
The diving with Munkko and Redey was simply amazing! Every dive turned out to be something special :) They made the right choices, they really know where to go at the right time of the day. We had a lot of laughs, jokes and even under water we were having a lot of fun (careful, you can swallow a lot of salt water when laughing during a dive...). Our Sri Lankan chef made us putting on some kilos during only one week. Very fresh and tasty food! The whole crew from the roomboy to the captain were exceptionally friendly. Thank you so much, Carpe Diem Crew! I'm already watching out for the next holidays to spend at the Maldives with you!

It is not where you are but who you are with.
It is not where you are but who you are with. Would the trip be so memorable if the dive buddies were not as great? The trip overall was amazing, nice dive sites, dive briefings very well explained, but the level of dive leaders was not the same. They all were very lovely, and friendly and easy to chat to, but the more experienced ones knew what to look out for, and what to show the divers. It was a real shame that the last day the only thing we did was sailing back home (Male). The mood was down, everyone wanted to jump in the water the last time. But the waters around Male are not for the faint hearted. My suggestion would be (if possible at all) to amend the route a bit, so the last dive is actually in the morning and then we could sail through to our destination. Saying that I am fully aware that the crew was very flexible, and I am sure they would have allowed us the last dive if they could, so this is not a criticism of this team. I will blame the weather ;-) Our cabin was very comfortable (for me, as I love hard bed ;-)), fresh towels were supplied every second day, which was good enough. And you could always ask for a fresh one whenever you wanted. If I could change anything, perhaps, give the bathroom a wipe when changing the bucket every morning. One of the highlights of this trip was the food. We called the chef: MacGyver. Give him a tin of tuna and bag of rice, and he will fix a three course dinner for 18 hungry divers. He and the food was AMAZING! I would 100% recommend CarpeDiem to all. It is a beautiful boat, perhaps not as new as others in the fleet, and perhaps in a need of a TLC, but this is only adding the character. The friendly team, and the dive buddies made this trip very memorable. thank you.

Excellent diving with tons of sharks
The itinerary is well prepared, they are trying to show you the best highlights. If you can get the trip with covid discount go ahead, it is really worth it. Beware that in Maldives they do not recognize anything higher than AOWD certification and the guides will unnecessarily bother you for depth limits (with EAN32!) or couple of min of deco with tech qualification.

Manta rays, eagle rays and all kinds of sharks. Relaxed atmosphere everyday. Diving from dhoni is so easy compared to diving from anywhere else, zodiac or just from a liveboard or beach. The crew helps to get to the dhoni safely. Jumping to the water and then also getting back to the dnoni is like a walk in the park. Carpe Diem washes the towels so they are fresh and soft and clean.

Great liveaboard with amazing diving
We went as a couple on a Central Atolls route. The boat itself has seen some wear and tear but was perfectly clean and functional. Cabins were adequate in size and all had A/C and a bathroom. The size of the boat is a big plus since you don't want to share a dive with 40 other people. Diving is done 3 times a day from a Dhoni which was large enough to give each of us 17 people enough room to set ourselves up. We were split up into 3 groups, each with an experienced local diveguide. The sights were AMAZING, to put it shortly. Food was served 3 times a day with an additional snack after the last dive and the quality and taste were incredible. Water, tea, coffee and cookies were complimentary, however the latter were all served in plastic packaging (the only minus I can give). Alcohol and soft drinks were given out at a reasonable price. All things considered, this was an exceptional trip with fantastic diving that I wouldn't hesitate to repeat!

Great first live aboard experience
My first live aboard experience. Before arriving I went to a resort for some check dives (x5 ) which brought my career dives to 23 total ! Very inexperienced compared to the rest of the divers - but was placed in a small group of 4 -and my diving and confidence grew during the trip. The crew were fantastic - friendly and helpful. The food was very good every day ! We snorkeled with a whale shark - we sat on the sea bed and watched about 6 large mantas feeding for 45 magical minutes. The rest of the diving was great too. Sharing a tight cabin with another diver was strange to me - but we were fine overall. The boat could probably do with a bit of modernizing to the decor - but all in all - it’s the crew and the other guests that made this trip one of the most memorable I’ve ever had ! Would definitely choose this company again.

excellent diving and perfect service
night dive with mantas, snorkeling with wale shark, time to relax between the dives. Problems: Unfortunately there were hardly any hooks or storage space in the cabin. With little effort, more comfort could be achieved here. The boat urgently needs a renovation. Flying ants had taken up residence in the room. Despite multiple efforts by the crew, the problem was not brought under control. There were wings and a kind of sawdust everywhere in the clothes because the insects had eaten their way into the wood and behind the paneling. Very uncomfortable, so we slept on deck most nights.
