Excellent from start to finish

Coral and sea life are in great shape, dive guides and boat staff went above and beyond, with great attitudes, to make us comfortable and safe. Cabin (the suite) was big with comfortable bed and great view(but they need to work on the black water smell in the bathroom). Food was more than plentiful and very good quality. Fair price for beer. I would book with Sea Serpent again.

Fantastic Experience

Sea Serpent as a company from top to bottom are very organised, always early and are well trained. The boat is extremely clean, the staff are incredibly helpful and well trained a true credit to the captain. The food is excellent. The dive guides are friendly and any issues at all - they have a solution. Nothing is too much trouble. Won't dive with any other operator from now on.

Great experience but the last morning soured it

We really enjoyed ourselves and the week we spent aboard Glory Miss Nouran exceeded expectations! Our dive guide was completely exhausted and not that friendly or talkative after doing 4 weeks straight but he provided safe dives and good briefings so, considering how grueling his job is, we can look past that! We expected basic food for fuel but took pleasure in what was served. The chef and kitchen crew deserve huge kudos!! The cabins were always clean and crew was always there to help you get ready for dives. Everyone worked really hard!! After an amazing week, the negative part that got everyone's tension up came at the end. We had to pay our rentals and port fees and the price is listed but if you pay with a credit card, a 20% fx fee was added. This amounted to over $100 extra for us. We, and everyone else WERE PISSED and to compound it, the crew collecting the money were very rude about it. What a way to leave a last impression. My advice to Sea Serpent Fleet: Don't do that! Our dive group left the boat fuming.

1 - We enjoyed the relaxed environment with the other divers and the post-dive snacks and meals. 2- The boat was comfortable and offered quite a few places to hang out. 3- The dives were good but late August is not the best time to find sharks.

AMAZING dives and honest review so you know what to expect

The overall experience has been fairly good even though we had a few hick ups. That’s the reason why we would qualify the general experience at 8.5/10, but we put it at 7/10 because of those situations explained further down and would have been a 3/10 if it wasn’t dealt with. For reader’s purposes, this was our first liveaboard and therefore we didn’t expect much except common “higher” end level services and caring level you would expect from any reputable dive shops around the world as well as on a boat that is supposed to be on the high spectrum of quality and price. We have about 100 dives in terms of experience. Here are a few things you should know and I will separate my pros and cons for you to make a better Liveaboard decision, knowing all the facts. + Dives were amazing, this is the #1 reason why you’re here, right? Hammerheads, mantas, lots of fish and incredible walls to discover. + Didn’t expect much out of buffet food, but we were surprisingly satisfied with it. Was great and a lot of variety if you’re not vegan, also all the time something to eat post-dives. You’re not going to lose weight on that trip, guaranteed! + Convenient boat with lots of space, good sized invidual rooms. + Crew was generally kind, special shout out to the cook which was in his 40+ degrees small kitchen all day cooking amazing meals for us. + Change of towels and sheets during the trip. + Fun night dives (2 total). + Relatively smooth boat rides in between the islands. They made the journey more enjoyable by managing sea conditions. Good job. - Huge negative: It is advertised to be a cruise ship with WIFI included. Beware if you need to work that you’ll miss 3 full days of any connection whatsoever. It shouldn’t be advertised as is. Should be written WIFI when available at the port (first and last day) otherwise it confuses people. We expected to be on Starlink wifi or something for the whole week, which was not the case. - There was a Nespresso machine for 2 Euros per pods or free instant Nespresso coffee. They should upgrade the free option considering the upscale positioning of the boat on the market. At least a Breville espresso machine or decent filtered coffee, even though it is not a coffee country. - We had a dive master that was very stiff, not amicable and wouldn’t really say hello and use common courtesy with us. Was always on his side, not really caring while diving and never gave us post-dives feedback where it is interesting to get comments from experts that dive all the time. - Our 2nd room was always humid with water not leaking properly from shower and therefore flooding the bathroom, probably common on boats. Cleanliness was ok based on Northern American standards. - ****Beware of conversion rates on the boat. You SHOULD bring cash to pay for the marine fees (+-200 EUROS) and other petty expenses on the boat such as wine and rentals of equipment if need be. We had the discomfort of being charged on the very last day 20-30% surcharge for local currency payments because we wanted to pay on credit cards or local currency cash. You need EUROS cash. Felt like we’re getting scammed, so it could have been dealt with better on their end by being upfront about those fees, instead of shoving them down at the very end. - As soon as we gave out tips and payments the second to last day, we started not to exist anymore for the overall service crew, including the dive master. Was a very weird atmosphere with aggressive manners and mumbles besides us when crew was passing by. Not sure we did anything wrong here? We felt that once they had the money, it was done for them and don’t need to treat us as humans anymore? All in all, we voiced our experience and to be fair, the management came to talk to us to get our feedback. In our mind it was pretty much done that we didn’t have a good overall experience based on those situations, but it seems that it is not generally how a week goes by with them. The manager

Boat in good shape, crew and guides amazing

First of all - what an amazing Crew. They left no request unanswerd (or unsolved), were attentive, friendly and well trained. The food was one of the best I've had in 10 years of safari. Our guides, Husseini and Amid, made an excellent job - on board and under water. The boat itself is in good shape, spacious and practical. Only the two ladders would probably work even better with some space between them, so you don't have to climb them "shoulder to shoulder" with the other diver and collide with your fins.

Wonderful Trip

I have to highlight that from the beginning it was very clear that SAFETY was front, back and center on SS Glorious Miss Nouran. This was very reassuring especially after the last couple of boats sinking/fires on liveaboards in the Red Sea in recent months. The whole crew and the dive guards were on top of keeping both our cabins safe (no charging things while we were outside the cabin, knowing where the emergency exist were etc.) and also safety when it came to diving, every diver had to have an SMB and know how to use it. Be careful of unsafe liveaboards on the Red Sea! We saw one liveaboard at Deadalus that was having an open fire BBQ in the back next to all the oxygen tanks being refiled. All the staff on the ship were extraordinary. Sammy, Galib, Samar, the Captain Mohammed, they were all on top of their game, made the guests feel reasured, were fun, but also paid attention to safety. I had a wonderful experience overall diving the Brothers, Deadalus and Ephistone. I look forward to booking again and going to the Deep South with the Sea Serpent fleet.
