Amazing week with discovery liveaboards
Had a fantastic week with the Samira visiting the BDE route. Diving was great, the boat was new and spacious, food was out of this world. Would definitely go again!

Exceptional diving with an outstanding and attentive crew.
The crew made the best of every opportunity. At one dive site there was a large pod of dolphins nearby. As we surfaced from our dive, the crew picked us up in the zodiacs and we followed the Dolphins throughout the area. It was an unplanned adventure that we all enjoyed thoroughly. The diving was breathtaking - fish in abundance and reefs that were extraordinary.

Wonderful crew but very budget operation!
Dive guides were excellent and crew members were friendly but overall this was an extremely budget operations with many corners cut compared to previous live aboard experiences. Cabins are very basic and zodiac operation was not safe.

Awesome week on Samira
We were lucky enough to have the entire boat for a group of 8 only which made it extra nice. Diving was good and Ahmed was a great guide with perfect sense of humor. Crew on dive deck were super helpful always helping with the gear and wetsuits. Food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. We also got to do few unguided dives which was a great experience! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to dive in Red Sea. Thank you

Very enjoyable Red Sea Safari
Food on-board was very good, excellent dive guides prioritised safety and generally were very helpful and considerate throughout. Boat overall was comfortable and had a lovely relaxed feel all week. The only minor criticism I can make is they have no library on board apart from fish ID books - so take plenty of reading, and the seating on the open deck was not very comfortable for me. Overall a very enjoyable trip and I we will certainly be booking onto a Discovery liveaboard again

Great trip, really recommended
All the crew was very nice and always ready to help. The schedule was very balanced allowing us to enjoy diving as well as having rest on the sundeck. The food was great and the cook did great job to serve variety of dishes. Thanks to guides we could enjoy great dives with sharks and we had option to dive alone whenever it was possible. Always felt safe and could relay on them. Really recommended for everyone who wants to see underwater wonders of red see :)

Worth it for the hammerheads!
Schooling hammerheads! I didn't expect to see them but we got them several times. And 1 time all to ourselves, I was surrounded by them just 1m away, amazing. Oceanic whitetip too, guitar shark, eagle ray, octopus. Loads of cool stuff. The general walls were disappointing though, not much going on there

Nice people on good dives (Staff & Customers)
Hammerhead sharks at Daedalus. There was too many things that was out of maintenance on this boat. The compressors got broken so no nitrox diving and we have to get air from other boats. One of the zodiacs has engine problems most of the time, not very securing if you need to be picked up at sea. The cold water taps did not cool the drikking water so the water was warm.

Very mixed experience: food and services good, cabin and dive guides quite bad
There were too many bad experiences on this boat. Our cabin was next to the engine, with horrible noise and smell and broken windows. We were one of the first to check in and so we asked to be switched to another one. The person in charge gave us excuses during 5 hours until finally everybody was on the boat and they told us that all cabins are occupied and cannot be switched. If you decide on this boat, I highly recommend making clear that you don’t want any of the cabins 1-4 close to the engine during the reservation process already. Our dive guide was barely able to speak English and was quite confusing under water as well. Apparently he did not really understand the briefings either. When the instructions were not to try and exit a wreck through the ribs in order to not destroy any coral, he would lead the entire group out through the ribs. When it was said not to chase sharks in case we saw some, so as to not scare them away, the first thing the guide did was chase after the shark as fast as he could. Also selecting the dive equipment took a very long time, because for every different size of jacket or boots they went away for half an hour until they found some. Very poorly organized. Unfortunately the diving experience on the boat was not one I’d like to repeat.

Boat Trip in April
Unfortunately, they were only 2 dive masters for 19 people, which made the diving very crowded. Moreover, 2 open-waters were diving with us and taking the advanced class. You need to know shark season starts in August and hammerhead season is from September. The water and the weather were rather cold, I would advise you to have at least a 7mm swimming suit. I rented one on the boat and they gave me a 5mm and it was not enough.

Thislegorm is something different. Particularly at night! Very positive surprises at Dunraven and El Mina. Shame we did not see more sharks albeit normal for northern red sea trip. Route is excellent combining reefs and great wrecks.

Good trip, fantastic crew
When I arrived at Hurghada airport the driver was already waiting for me. He was very helpful and had already collected all informations for me. He even spoke german. I was then brought to the boat where I was able to leave my luggage and go explore Hurghada for a bit. Later we had a good boat orientation by our guides and crew and everyone was introduced to each other. The next day we left for the checkdives and then headed on our route. The guides were very good and incredibly patient. On the dives we got a bit unlucky and didn't see too many big fish. However there was always nice reefs and some smaller stuff that were pointed out to us. When getting ready for the dives you were always helped by the crew and they really went out of their way to make everything as conveneient as possible for you. Not only did they try to help wherever they could they were also knowledgeable regarding your equipment and handeled it with a lot of care. Zodiac drivers were always very attentive and helpful as well. The food was excellent. Snacks, drinks and main meals were fantastic. Only negative was that there were very few sharks, but to be fair that is not something they could control. Just a question of luck.

Very good week in the Samira
Boat is nice, clean and comfy. Staff is great. Food is average but ok for Egypt. The cons are the fact that there are too many bots doing the same trip every week. Too many divers that are scaring the wildlife and limiting the chances too see the best of the Red Sea. This is not dependent from the boat and crew who deserve an amazing rating.

Great guides, nice boat and amenities
Lots of highlights: the route we took was interesting and the dives were varied. We had to repeat a few dives due to weather conditions (couldn’t be helped). I would recommend diving with smaller groups though, would make experience more intimate/enjoyable. Dive instructors were knowledgable and helpful, although paid particular attention to the very rich clients on the boat (for obvious reasons).

A good safe diving trip
Being away from shore seeing new sights and sea life, just bring part of livaboard, I would suggest the following better rope hand hold on the ribs for entry, and maybe the same at the rear of the boat for drift dives, put numbers on all towels as wd both lost towels throughout the week, soft low lighting in hall way as very bright o et night with gaps in doors, when selecting dive groups make sure they are apart we were all in the same corner not gd or safe simple to fix spread divers around the dive deck.

Amazing Experience - Definitely just the first of many liveaboards to come
It is really difficult to put it into words really. In general I am still amazed by this trip, the diving, the people, everything. It was my first liveaboard and it was a great experience which is because of everything just fit together perfectly. Already everything regarding pick up and check in on the boat was really well organized. Also the guides and crew members were extremely helpful and nice. This continued with the first dinner and really good food which was really good the entire week through - even with a Turkey at the end. The service was really good to. Dive guides and crew always put safety of everyone first. They were helpful in every regard. Diving was awesome. Thistlegorm was outstanding. I am looking forward to doing the south tour rather sooner than later. This has not been the last liveaboard for sure - many more to come. Also thanks to liveaboard.com for being helpful all the way and answering all questions. Really well done!!!
