Catering to just 14 divers, the MV Camic liveaboard explores the best sites that the Similan and Surin Islands offer from November to April each year. She caters to just 14 guests in 7 cabins. Three Master cabins have double beds, and 4 twin cabins have bunk beds. All feature AC, storage space, and en-suite bathrooms. Eco-friendly products are provided in the showers so as not to pollute the reefs. The upper deck has an indoor lounge area with LCD TV, DVD, VCD, and MP3 player. Three delicious meals are served at the outdoor dining area: Thai and international dishes and snacks, tea, coffee, and water throughout the day. There is also a spacious sun deck, perfect for relaxing between dives.
The MV Camic offers 4 or 5-night itineraries to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock in the Similan & Surin Islands. Dive at world-famous dive sites such as West of Eden, Richelieu Rock, and the Boonsung Wreck. The spacious dive deck at the back of the boat ensures ample space for kitting up and is equipped with rinse tanks and freshwater showers.

people are nice on the boat
- best briefing ever,best food ever,best crew.
Low budget boat but nice dive sites and the crew open for suggestions! Great Thai food!
Dive sites (nice schools of glass fish, barracudas, yellow snappers etc), not the best diving spots in the world, but still worth to see (not very good visability in April - 15 meters max). Food - great Thai food, if you are vegetarian you can highlight it before your trip and your meal will be prepared separately (but also delicious) The crew (guides) not integrated at all, you have a feeling that all of them are from different boats. Tools - There are barely some tools on the boat, if you are travelling with your own equipment and want to fix anything better to take your tools with you! Nitrox - when we asked for Nitrox we heard: 300 BAT per 1 dive (around 10EUR!!!) and also that they don't have too much oxygen on the boat so they asked us to not use it for the first 3 days (!!)
- Diving & food
Good overall but the diving was disappointing
The liveaboard booking service was excellent throughout. Would definitely use it again. Very placid seas, very good dive equipment, boat and cabin were comfortable. The Swedish couple mentioned in previous reviews are not currently running the trips as they are stuck outside Thailand during COVID. But the Thai man in charge heads the team well. Despite the description 'On the upper deck is an indoor lounge area with LCD TV, DVD, VCD, and MP3 player.' - there isn't anything on the upper deck except a few old beanbags. We requested the wooden master cabin well in advance but didn't get it. The food was very mediocre and the worst part of the trip. Mostly Thai food which wasn't even that good; the international food consisted of frozen frankfurter sausages and a chicken burger. The crew member who helped us pack up at the end only packed one of my booties and they never did find the other, despite us following up for days. The diving was not as exciting as expected; very few large fish and we dove two sites three times each; also the visibility was mostly quite poor (<5-10m) and at all but one site there were strong currents. Shame.
- Friendly crew, small boat and diving equipment was in very good condition
Great experience in Similan
Although the visibility is not as good as I expected but diving with Dennis and tick is still a great experience. The food is good and the crews are friendly, I will come again definitely.
- Eat , dive and sleep
I loved all of it
- The crew was excellent, both diving and boat crew. The food was delicious. The organisation was perfect.
Amazing Diving with Exceptional Dive Masters
Dennis and the rest of the Dive masters are amazing. They have 20+ years experience on the reefs and are extremely committed to giving the divers the best experience possible. The food on the boat is amazing and after every dive we were thrilled to see what the Chef has prepared for us! Although the cabins and bathrooms make you miss your home, the amazing crew, terrific dives, and mouthwatering food make this a stupendous liveaboard experience !!
- Dive Masters, Dives, Food
Similans are overrated.
Having to pay some 150 euros more on arrival: the items to pay for were annouced beforehand, but not all the prices. Mandatory payments should be included in the original quotation. The Camic has a very pleasant architecture for divers but the generator was very noisy. More care should be taken to compose groups of divers with comparable skills and to give more help to beginners having difficulties.
- The first day of diving was below par, but the second and third were really good.
Very good value for money, covered lots of the Similans. Could have done with wine or spirits for supper.
The diving and dive sites were amazing..... made a very good new friend and enjoyed the company of the entire crew of the Camic.
- Dive sites. Met some lovely new people. The weather was amazing
Amazing trip through the dive sites of Thailand.
We saw huge shoals of baracuda, which were amazing and then then we did three dives on Richelieu rock and saw some incredible marine life and corals.
- I enjoyed Richelieu rock and the similian islands, the food was also really good.
MV Camic is a great Similans experience
The dive guides aboard Camic — Dennis and Tik — have been diving the Similans & Surin islands for 20 years, so no guides have more experience or understanding of the dive sites on this route than they do. Dennis ran advanced open water and nitrox courses for some divers on our trip; it’s clear he loves to teach and prioritizes safety. His students seemed to learn a great deal and enjoy working with him. This is a professional and smooth operation. The rental gear is in great condition, the cabins are clean, the food is excellent. Camic has a large top deck with plenty of space to lounge in the shade or in the sun. It caters to only 14 divers so there is none of the crowding or chaos of other Similans options. We had a great trip and I would gladly dive again aboard Camic.
- Camic is a comfortable boat, led by experienced & professional guides, and run by capable and courteous crew
