De Phinisi, officieel bekend als de Cheng I Sao, is een zusje van The Junk en biedt ieder jaar van november tot mei fantastische duikreizen aan naar Thailand en Myanmar. Gasten kunnen kiezen uit 4 verschillende routes, die in lengte variëren van 4-10 nachten. De Phinisi is speciaal gebouwd voor duikers, wat ook terug te zien is aan de aanwezige faciliteiten. Zo is er een overdekt duikdek en een speciaal gebied waar spullen opgeborgen kunnen worden en gasten zich kunnen klaarmaken voor een duik. Daarnaast is er Nitrox aanwezig voor gecertificeerde duikers en is het mogelijk om een kwalitatief goede Aqualung uitrusting te huren. Een SBM kan gedurende de reis gratis gebruikt worden. Er zijn verschillende reisroutes in Thailand beschikbaar die een bezoek brengen aan de kristalheldere wateren van de Similan-eilanden, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai en Richelieu Rock. Daarnaast bezoekt de Phinisi de beste duikspots van Myanmar, zoals Black Rock, High Rock, Tower Rock en Torres-eiland.

De Phinisi kan maximaal 18 gasten meenemen aan boord. Zij verdelen zich in een aantal cabines die geschikt zijn voor verschillende budgetten. Iedere cabine beschikt over airconditioning, en-suite badkamers met warm water, handdoeken, genoeg opbergruimte en een kluisje. Daarnaast zijn er een aantal sociale ruimtes, zoals een zonnedek met ligbedden, een indoor en outdoor eetgedeelte, een 42 inch flat screen TV en een bibliotheek met films en spelletjes aanwezig. Alle maaltijden worden in buffetstijl geserveerd en tegen betaling kan er gebruik worden gemaakt van de zelfbedieningsbar waar snacks en drinken verkrijgbaar zijn.

Best boat crew in Thailand

Nice big wooden boat. Better than the smaller boats which I was on in 2020. Didn't have a dive guide as I only Snorkel but boat crew catered for this and made sure when possible to get us to the reefs and shallow parts. Nice that we could sleep anywhere as I couldn't stand the AC...

Meine erste Tauchsafari hätte nicht besser sein können!

Meine erste Tauchsafari hätte nicht besser verlaufen können. Die Crew war außerordentlich hilfsbereit und freundlich, die Tauchguides super sympathisch und das Essen war richtig gut. Das Schiff selbst war ebenfalls sehr gemütlich. Alle waren stets bemüht, dass man zufrieden war. Auch die Tauchgänge waren super schön, und ich habe mich mit den Tauchguides auch super sicher gefühlt (hatte erst 20 Tauchgänge, bevor ich auf der Phinisi weitere 18 Tauchgänge gemacht habe - ich war daher noch nicht so erfahren). Auch die Tauchcrew, die das Equipment immer für uns vorbereitet hat, und uns mit dem Zodiac zu den Tauchplätzen geführt hat, war spitze. Alles in allem eine wirklich tolle Erfahrung, die ich nicht missen möchte!

Excellent crew

Fantastic, skillful and super friendly crew was the highlight of this liveaboard. Excellent food also. 4 dives a day is a lot but everything worked seamlessly! Thank you!

Excellent Dive Experience In The Andaman Sea

I had a great experience during my 7 day liveaboard on the Phinisi. The dive sites were fantastic, if a bit crowded with divers from other boats. The Phinisi carries a relatively small number of divers, but some of the competing companies bring a lot of divers so it can get crowded. Our cruise director was good at avoiding the worst of the crowds. The reef life was fantastic. We had bad luck and didn't see any big pelagics, but that's uncontrollable. The dive instructors and dive masters were excellent. I enjoyed the food, a mix of Thai and western, it was tasty and there was more than enough. Overall the Phinishi made a good dive boat with all the necessary facilities. My one minor complaint - sharing 4 to a cabin wasn't the most comfortable, but we made it work.

It was a happy and safe trip with this beautiful boat. We had total 5 DMs for 15 divers, each group being small and efficient.

Awesome diving, on a beautiful boat with a wonderful crew

Just back from an amazing 7D/6N dive trip aboard the Phinisi, visiting the Similan and Surin islands with my dive buddy. The best dive site (by far!!) was Richelieu Rock. We dove there four times, and I would have been happy to have just dived that site over and over. Our dive guide was Amelie, and she made sure to always find something cool and obscure on each dive. The rental gear was brand-spanking new, and so was pretty much everything else on this newly renovated boat. The boat is beautifully appointed, and we lacked for nothing. My buddy and I felt like kings, lavishly attended to do by the entire crew throughout our trip; from delicious and bountiful meals to assistance getting in and out of our dive gear. Deano’s dive briefings were entertaining and amazingly accurate. The whole team oozed experience and I highly recommend this boat, crew, and itinerary to anyone seeking to eat, sleep, dive, repeat :)
