De M/S Katharina is een traditionele Indonesische 'phinisi'-liveaboard. Dit klassieke en elegante jacht organiseert het hele jaar door prachtige culturele trips door het oostelijke deel van de Indonesische archipel. De 12-koppige bemanning van de Katharina is gepassioneerd en zeer ervaren in dit gebied, waardoor je een fascinerende trip kunt verwachten.
De 40 meter lange M/S Katharina heeft luxueuze accommodaties voor maximaal 14 gasten. Alle zes hutten beschikken over eigen airconditioning, en-suite badkamer en veel ruimte. Je zult versteld staan van het lekkere eten aan boord, en ook voor vegetariërs zijn er tal van opties (laat dit van tevoren weten). Ook zijn er snacks, water, koffie en thee beschikbaar. Op het grote zonnedek of in de lounge met bar, televisie en dvd-speler kun je lekker ontspannen of jezelf vermaken. Daarnaast is er een selectie van wijnen, bier en sterke dranken beschikbaar.
De Katharina organiseert verschillende reisroutes naar spectaculaire plekken in de Indonesische archipel. Je kunt snorkelen in turquoise water, hiken naar vulkanen, traditionele dorpen bezoeken of lekker relaxen op het strand. De vriendelijke bemanning zal zorgen dat het je aan niets hoeft te ontbreken.

Our experience cruising on the Katharina: Birds of Paradise, Whale Sharks and so much more!
There were so many highlights! For us seeing the birds of paradise and whale sharks up close were standouts, but the whole experience of learning about the history, biology and culture of that part of Indonesia will remain with us for the rest of our lives. In particular, learning more about Alfred Wallace (who co-authored the Theory of Evolution with Charles Darwin) and the Wallace Line while visiting the same areas that he did a century and half earlier was amazing.

Amazing and a must do....
Cruising with Katharina and the smaller boats, snorkeling esp. with the whalesharks, bird watching (bird of paradise), just three guests - plenty of space and private tours, crew with a wonderful Chef in the kitchen and Ari as a great tour guide with lots on useful contacts in and knowledge of the region and the culture, Katharina itself - what a beautiful ship, BBQ at the beach...and much more
