Great trip, really a fun crew with lots of dives.

Really enjoyed the walls we dove on this trip, great sites! Dive guides were great and Jo was really fun with her costumes and edutainment regrading our dives. Chef Stan prepared snacks and meals that everyone loved and kept our energy up for the dives. Really nice not to need to set up dive gear for each dive. Simply unhook your reg and they fill your tank. Fun trip with great dives!

Wonderful crew, marvelous diving!

The main highlight of the trip was the diving (of course). The crew made every dive interesting and fun. Jo (female) wore a theme outfit for just about every dive she led, Chris often wore a theme outfit too. Joe (male) was quick to point out every tiny creature on the dives he led, he seemed to know just where each one hung out. I was nervous about night diving, Jo was attentive and watchful until she saw me relaxing in the dive. The food was excellent, we all looked forward to seeing what Stan would present next.

Comments from a liveaboard novice.

We were a little nervous about being "stuck" on a boat with no where to hide. Boy were we wrong. There was plenty of room to chill whenever you wanted. The crew was fantastic. Joe and her costumes and stories was a delight. But don't pass up the chance to talk with JF, the captain. He has led quite a life. Stan is the man in the kitchen. You won't go hungry. Before talking about the diving I have to once again commend the crew. I experienced a severe back spasm exiting the first dive. They did everything they could to get me back in the water. With their help I missed just three dives. We very quickly discovered the first difference between diving a liveaboard vs a day boat. We crossed paths with exactly one other group the entire week. We had each site all to ourselves. I enjoy taking time to look at the coral small fish. My dive buddy loves sharks. Neither of us was disappointed with the diving. We logged over 20 hours of bottom time and enjoyed every minute. Who knew that sharks just loved to play in the light of your flashlight during a night dive.

Fun Dive eat dive & dive eat dive dive eat dive sleep and do it again!

Most of the sites we were able to find or explore and see more types of sea life than I have on prior trips with the crew making it fun knowing what we would see and or find around each site that we visited. Each day the crew / dive masters would have a different theme for all of the sites even going so far as to dress up in costumes as this would keep things fun. They were vary mindful of all needed safety aspects reviewing prior to leaving port after boarding boat which covered boat as well as diving. Never mind the Great diving the cook onboard would make snacks and meals that you wouldn't expect with a variety each day they also had well stocked soft drinks. So while the boat was not a palace it was very functional and comfortable dive area was set up nicely with places for your gear so you would not need to take it to your cabin. Between dives it was nice to be up top on fly bridge while going to our next dive sites as on various days we would have Dolphins swimming to keep up with the boat, just having fun jumping boat wake.

Trip of a Lifetime

I am vegetarian and Stan the Cook went overboard (😑) with taking care that the vegetarians got taken care of. The food was lots of protein and the meat and chicken subs were so real I wrongfully accused him of giving me me the wrong meal! We had amazing turndown service, plenty of comfort and care. The cabins were spacious but the bathrooms kinda tiny. Five dives a day is amazing although I didn’t do them all. The crew was funny and cheerful and the captain and engineer kind enough to lend me some of their equipment when mine failed towards the end of the trip. I don’t think anyone other than a snob would be unhappy with this trip.

Great Crew; Average Diving

Pros: 1. Crew is stellar and go out of their way to please. 2. Functional dive deck with no need for tenders. 3. Value for money if can get discounted rate. Cons: 1. Older dive boat with less than optimum layout. E. g. Galley and dining room on same level as most cabins. E.g. Room 7 opposite galley gets food smell and kitchen noise (though cook tries super hard to be quiet). Plus if you get a rowdy group, cabins close to dining room snd galley may get noise. 2. While stews were great, the food leaned on the stodgy side (pizza; sandwiches; pasta). All desserts were from a package or mix. 3. The diving was very mediocre. Yes the walls were impressive but there were no fish. There were sharks on every dive though. Plus the night and dusk dive at French key and the hunting sharks were incredible. I Glinda that land based giving at Grand Turk was better as had fish life and healthier reefs. Plus, it was disappointing that we didn’t go further than about 2 hours from Provo marina in every direction. Kind of defeats purpose of going on a liveaboard. (Note: the Aggressor follows a similar itinerary.) That being said, I would go on the liveaboard again but to participate in the whale encounters in the Dominican Republic.

My 1st liveaboard ever and from what I got from other passengers I may have been spoiled. It was so perfect! The crew is amazing, the food was superb, the bed super comfy, and of course, the dives were awesome too. The passangers were super cool and everyone clicked and shared their stories. Got to see pleeeenty of sharks (my favorites), along with lobsters, crabs, a turtle and 2 dolphins on the last dive! I hope to get this lucky in the future as now I definitely want to do another one.

Amazing Crew!

T&C has good weather and good diving. What makes this trip a must is the amazing crew on the T&C Explorer. Every one of them bends over backwards to make sure all guest have a good experience, all the while maintaining good humor and a fun attitude. The dive briefings were some of the best I've seen in 12 years of diving. Not only were we briefed on topography, navigation and currents, but each briefing had a deep dive (no pun intended) into a particular fish or critter found in T&C. I learned so many new things about fish I've been looking at for years. The dive guides are extremely knowledgable about the local fish and are happy to nerd out over a fish ID book during the surface intervals or after we're done diving for the day. It's worth noting that each buddy team has a choice to follow the guide or dive their own plan. This was somewhat unusual to me, but I appreciated the freedom for our small group to break away and look for critters on our own. The boat itself is quite spacious with lots of places guests can enjoy the sun or shade. The bunk rooms were small but comfortable. The food was very good. I would go diving with T&C explorer again in a heartbeat.

1st live aboard dive experience was 1st class

The crew of the explorer II made a week of diving absolutely effortless. Everyone on board was incredibly professional and yet we left feeling like family. Every dive was beautiful and relaxed. Safety standards were followed and we always felt safe even in live boat drift dives in relatively rough seas. The boat was very well maintained and clean. The reefs we visited were in good condition, lots of healthy coral, sponges and variety of sealife. Sharks, rays, dolphin, barracuda all encountered.

the best diving trip

for me, it was an incredible experience, it was so good i stayed a second week, there is no word to describe how i felt, spending all that time with all those fish, i am used to dive in the St-Lawrence river in Ontario (eastern Canada) its great, but water is cold, and there is never as much life as what we saw, the crew was great, and knew very well everything about every locations, but for me the best part was the night dive at french cay, with the nurse sharks...i would go back anytime for me, that was the very best thing i have ever done in my entire life...im already planning to go back, either to the same spot or to another spot, it was great

The staff truly did make this trip simply outstanding. From the amazing dive guides, to a wonderful chef and a very personable captain, (even the ever elusive engineer, rarely seen, but always there) they simply couldn't do more to improve the trip. The diving was a wee bit disappointing because of damage from the recent storms, but I'm sure the reefs will soon be back to normal. Good Liveaboard

The diving was good, lots of micro stuff. Make sure you’re into that if you book. We didn’t see big stuff, like sharks or turtles. One to two sharks per dive & spot three turtles in 26 dives. Most divers had professional style cameras to capture the small stuff. Looked really cool & unique stuff. Lots of lobster and crabs during night dives. The boat food was okay, the worst when compared to all the other Liveaboard I’ve done. Staff was friendly, they made the trip fun & enjoyable.
