Newly built in 2021, the Janssonius Arctic small cruise ship has been designed and built with polar region tours specifically in mind. It also uses the latest technologies with stabilizers, LED lighting, steam heating, biodegradable paints, and fuel-efficient engines with low CO2 emissions. With 80 cabins and 8 different cabin types, the Janssonius can accommodate 170 passengers. All cabins have private bathroom facilities.

The M/V Janssonius has plenty of space for guests to enjoy the amazing Arctic scenery while being kept comfortable onboard. A large dining room with a hot & cold buffet area can be found on deck 4, whilst on deck 5 there is a large Observation lounge with TV, Bar & Coffee station. Here you can also find a library and large lecture room.

Arctic cruise itineraries on Janssonius are varied and the ship offers many experiences allowing guests to see different wildlife and scenery. With the main focus being on exploration, outdoor activities, and wildlife the ship has a fleet of zodiac boats that transit guests to shore and various scenic tours. Some of these include visiting Spitsbergen, searching for Polar bears & Bowhead whales, glaciers in Greenland, and at the right time of year you may get to see the Aurora Borealis, otherwise known and the Northern lights. At other times of the year, the Janssonius can be found offering tours in Antarctica.
