De Letty is een eersteklas jacht dat spannende cruises aanbiedt in Galapagos. Het jacht is in 1994 op maat gemaakt en wordt ieder jaar gerenoveerd. De Letty kan maximaal 20 gasten accommoderen in 10, met airconditioning uitgeruste cabines. Iedere ruime cabine beschikt over een- of tweepersoonsbedden, een ensuite badkamer met biologisch afbreekbare zeep en shampoo, een haardroger, kledingkast en hangers. Alle cabines hebben met een patrijspoort of groot raam uitzicht op zee. Aan gemeenschappelijke ruimtes zijn er ondere andere een indoor lounge met flatscreen TV, een bibliotheek, restaurant en een bar met panoramisch uitzich aanwezig. Voor ontspanning kunnen gasten terecht op het gedeeltelijk overdekte zonnedek, waar zij van de koele zeebries en het schitterende uitzicht kunnen genieten. Sommige plekken op het schip zijn zelfs ingericht voor het observeren van wilde dieren. Gedurende iedere dag worden er heerlijke en gevarieerde maaltijden geserveerd, waarbij de huiswijn en lokale bieren gratis zijn gedurende het diner.
De cruises vertrekken iedere zaterdag, duren 7 nachten en bieden een lage gids-tot-gast ratio met maar 10 passagiers per gids. Gasten kunnen kiezen uit verschillende routes, waarbij 'Route A' de zuidelijke en centrale regio's bezoekt. Er worden stops gemaakt bij San Cristobal, Espanola, Floreana en Santa Cruz. Daarnaast kunnen zij kiezen voor de noordelijke en westelijke 'Route B' die stopt bij Genovesa, Santa Cruz, Fernandina, Isabela en Santiago. Tijdens de cruise worden er activiteiten georganiseerd zoals begeleide wandelingen door de natuur, snorkelen, kajakken en het van dichtbij bekijken van wilde dieren. Ten slotte zijn er speciale familievakanties beschikbaar gedurende de schoolvakanties. Deze reizen bieden speciale activiteiten voor kinderen en tieners tussen de 7 en 17 jaar.

Top Notch Experience
I cannot say enough fantastic things about this cruise. The main reason I chose this was for the action-packed itinerary, so I was a bit surprised when I was also blown away by the boat, crew and meals. The itinerary was so fun. The snorkeling was probably my favorite, as we swam with hammerheads, reef sharks, rays, turtles, penguins, cormorants, iguanas and a lot more. I brought my own mask and snorkel, but used their fins and wetsuits which were great. The land excursions were really interesting with tons of wildlife that is so close they are sometimes on the trail with you. The hiking was not strenuous - just some uneven surfaces and the boat offered hiking poles to use if needed. We also did some scenic panga rides and kayaking/SUPing which were great for getting even closer to the animals. I loved the diversity of activities and how they offered seeing the same animals in different ways, like penguins standing on lava rock, swimming on top, and darting below the surface. The guides were awesome. I was a little concerned about English fluency, but those fears were immediately put to rest. The guides had a combined 60 years of knowledge and explained everything in scientific yet easy-to-understand terminology. As they accompany you on the excursions, they speak about the flora, fauna and geology in the environment around you. They explained any questions in depth, and would find interesting ways to illustrate an idea - like having us feel the weight different of pumice (volcanic ash) and cooled lava. The boat was great. There is a roof top deck that offers shade and sun, views of the milky way at night, and a chance to hang out with the other passengers and Frigate birds that soar along with the boat. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and were serviced twice a day. The dining area was also beautiful with comfortable booths where all passengers had the opportunity to mingle over a meal. It's a smaller boat, so you feel it if there are choppy seas. Some passengers had a patch they put behind their ear for sea sickness. For me, I just took a pill before bed and felt completely fine. There can also be some considerable noise (waves splashing, anchor lowering, engine droning), depending where you room is located, so bring ear plugs. My partner and I stayed in a room with 2 twin beds, which was comfortable and may have been a little more restful than hitting choppy seas *and* each other in a single bed. The meals were so delicious and nutritious with a variety of ethnic cuisine. I ate everything - salad, fresh fruit, cooked food - and did not experience any "traveler's" problems. I am also now a huge fan of plantains and the variety of ways they can be prepared! And finally, the crew were all amazing. They always had a smile, were helpful and accommodating. They worked their tails off for everyone on the boat.
