Crociere subacquee in Isole Similan

Oltre a polpi rossi, tartarughe verdi e seppie ci sono infatti gamberi imperatore, granchi rossi, tritoni e conchiglie a cono , granchi toro e decoratori.

Altri siti comprendono:Three Trees, Beacon Point, Breakfast Bend, Chinese Wall, Coral Reef, Deep Six, Hideaway, North Point e Stonehenge.

It was just ok, glad we went to this destination first and built up to Richelieu Rock. The first dive (monument #6) was utterly boring but I can see the benefit for the dive masters to assess our scuba skills on a easy dive and for those of us who dive once a year on vacation to focus on dusting off our skills as well. #7 and #9 were more interesting with the mixing of the cold water currents. #9 was a blast with huge jelly fish and turtles. Very strong currents those days and we opted out of the fourth dive. #9 was by far the best of the SImilan locations.

A waste of vacation time and money. The coral is mostly gone and a large part of the reef looks like a dead forest. It must have been extraordinary a few years ago, but marine life is currently very poor. Sad, but this is the unfortunate result of global warming, pollution and overfishing.
