Le dernier né de la famille Nautilus au Mexique, le Nautilus Under Sea de 27 m, propose des croisières plongée spectaculaires vers les îles Socorro. Ancien bateau de recherche scientifique, le Nautilus Under Sea est aussi célèbre en tant que bateau de support technique pour le film de James Bond ‘Permis de tuer’, et a été utilisé comme bateau de support lors d’une mission avec le sous-marin Deep Rover dirigée par l’océanographe Silvia Earle, ainsi que lors de nombreuses missions de recherche scientifiques et de tournage d’images sous-marines. Le Nautilus Under Sea peut accueillir 17 passagers dans 8 cabines climatisées avec salle de bain privée. Il possède aussi de nombreux espaces de détente, dont un espace lounge et restaurant confortable et un large pont extérieur aménagé de chaises de plage.
Le pont de plongée est bien aménagé et de nombreux espaces de rangement sont disponibles pour les plongeurs, ainsi qu’un espace réservé au matériel photo et vidéo personnel. Le Nautilus Under Sea se rend vers 2 destinations principales : les îles Socorro. La plongée à Socorro permet de rencontrer des grandes raies mantas océaniques que les plongeurs peuvent approcher sans aucun souci, ainsi que plus de 10 espèces de requins différentes, des dauphins, des requins baleines, des requins marteaux et des baleines à bosse. Les croisières de 6 jours à bord du Nautilus Undersea Hunter sont au départ du port Ensenada avec transport depuis San Diego, de juillet à novembre.

Spektakuläre Haibegegnungen
Die fast 6m große "Lucy" und ein ein weiteres Weibchen von fast der gleichen Größe die oft sehr nahe an den Käfigen waren. Sichtung von insgesamt fast 30 verschiedenen großen weißen Haien. Toll waren auch die Informationen der professionellen Crew über die Haie und deren Unterscheidungsmerkmale. Dadurch besteht die Möglichkeit für die Gäste einen noch nicht registrierten Hai zu fotografieren und ihn einen Namen zu geben. Sensationell waren auch die spektakulären Sprünge der Haie aus dem Wasser.

amazing crew that went above and beyond
Nautilus Under Sea is a very comfortable boat, with nice cabins, lots of storage space and very nice bathrooms in cabins. Diving deck organization was perfect, enough space for everyone, large table for cameras. The diving crew was very helpful, enthusiastic, and managed the diving part in an extremely safe and organized manner. Even when the diving conditions were difficult because of the weather, they expertly got everyone in and out of skiffs. All in all, amazing experience of diving with mantas, dolphins, Galapagos, silky sharks and other marine life, which is abundant in the Socorro.

Great if you like big fish
Good trip for more experienced divers. A lot of blue water and current but most of the time it is worth the wait and struggle because you see a lot of big fish you only find on some other places. Boat has been refitted and is nice and has good standard. Very nice crew, DMs are experienced and won‘t look after you all the time. Trip to the islands is long and exhausting though especally if the swell comes in. Overall a very good trip to check off some large pelagic fish and sharks.

Great White Shark Diving at Guadalupe Island
Full points for the crew, food. and the diving experience. It is well deserved. The cabin comfort didn't rate full points because we had issues with the central air in the cabins below decks. Our room was too hot while someone else was getting all our cold air. We were offered and accepted an upgrade to the premium cabin, so it ended well for us, and the captain said they will work to resolve this problem in the future. As someone with thousands of dives around the world, and having seen thousands more sharks, I wasn't enthusiastic about diving in a cage, but I also hadn't seen great white sharks before. After this experience, I would do it again. I averaged 4 to 5 hours a day in the cages watching the great white sharks, and they didn't disappoint me. They were very photogenic, with lots of photos and videos made. It is an experience even the "hardcore" divers should try. Bring a drysuit if you have one, or the thickest wetsuit you have. The water is cool, and you'll be able to stay in longer and more comfortably.
