A memorable and highly recommended diving experience
My first diving experience in Thailand. I was very happy about the whole trip and each dive. The underwater world is a sort of same but still different in each ocean. Despite my limited number of dive so far compare with those divers explored many more oceans, I did enjoy and value each dive. I could learn a lot from other divers from all over the world, happy to meet with new friends all the time. The cabin is quite small compared to other modern diving boats but considering its unique and legendary history, it's still a great experience, especially with the great enthusiasm from the whole crew, mouthwatering and authentic food provided each day (I surprisingly gained 1kg during this one week, I was expecting to loose a bit weight since diving supposed to burn more calories 😂) made this whole diving trip a memorable one . Thank you again, The Junk :)

A Fantastic First Liveaboard Journey to the Similan and Surin Islands
This was my very first liveaboard trip and also my first time exploring the Andaman Sea, including the breathtaking Similan and Surin Islands. The entire experience was truly fantastic, thanks to the amazing crew who made everything smooth and enjoyable. The crew were incredibly attentive and helpful, assisting with every dive—from setting up equipment to guiding the descent and ascent, and doing it all over again with patience and care. All equipment was organized neatly in properly allocated spaces, which made everything feel safe and well-managed, something I really appreciated. The food on board was delicious and perfect for refueling after each dive. It truly felt like the classic “dive, eat, sleep, repeat” lifestyle—simple, fulfilling, and unforgettable. I would definitely recommend this liveaboard to others, and I sincerely hope to return again for more diving adventures!

Very well managed all the way from pick-up at aiport to drop-off after the cruise. Very friendly staff and dive guides. Excellent mix of Thai and western food (4 meals per day between each dives). 4 dives/day including 1 night dive and 2 dives on last day.

Wonderful liveaboard
Wonderful liveaboard with incredible dives (Richelieu Rock is absolutely crazy), a very nice, fun and welcoming crew. The food is awesome, the cabins are small but confortable enough, the boat is beautiful. I just wish I could have stayed longer :)

Great diving experience on The Junk
While travelling and diving in Thailand I made a late booking that was only completed a day before I was due to meet the boat in Khao Lak. The wooden traditional junk lived up to expectations and has a character that sets it apart from run of the mill dive boats you see. The crew were friendly and welcoming from the start. From the Cruise Director, Dive Guides, Chef and catering staff, to the engineers and the handyman, they were a great bunch of people, always with a smile and ever helpful. I was pleasantly surprised that given the short notice from my late booking the chef was able to meet my dietary requirements - vegan - and provide me with a great selection of meals throughout the trip. In fact, the food was a highlight of the trip for all divers. In quality, quantity and variety it would be hard to beat! Before going to the dive sites by RHIB from the Junk, the Cruise Director, who was also a Dive Guide on most of the dives, gave a thorough briefing on the site's layout, currents and marine life. On this trip there was a good international mix of divers that added to the whole experience. An unexpected bonus was the compilation video created and given to us by Linda, one of the Dive Guides. I have no hesitation in recommending The Junk to any diver wishing to visit the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock.

Amazing dive experience with great service
This was a lifetime experience. I’ve been on liveaboard before but this is by far the best one. Not even is the boat super cool and with so much ambience and history but it was just first class service - from the dive/boat manager Brian who was super professionel and made sure safety was taken seriously - to the absolutely fabulous and helpfull crew. The food was amazing and we basically had food non stop between dives. Fab veggie options as well. The diving was also professionally handled with great local divemasters and every dive around 1 hour. Equipment in top. Hotel pick up service from wherever you are within 2 hours (I think) The cabins were pretty spacious and with curtains to get a bit of privacy. Okay and spacious bathroom with warm shower if you need that. Remember really good earplugs though. It’s very noisy when moving at night and the generator is also a bit of a nightmare.
