The Junk is a historic liveaboard that offers a unique experience, combining the charm of a traditional wooden ship with modern comforts, while taking divers on adventures around the Similan and Surin Islands. The Junk accommodates 18 divers in 6 fully air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom and hot shower. Choose from private, three-berth, or four-berth cabins to suit your preferences. The boat has a shaded dive deck, personal set-up areas, and the option for Nitrox diving.

A ship with personality
I booked the The junk because I really liked the ships apperance and every dive when we went back to the boat I felt joy and adventure compared to other boats around us. This ship definatly has personality and you could tell the staff loved the boat as well. Great safety and briefs, the food was really awesome and the staff was great as well so only good things to say. I recommend this trip to anyone who likes an adventure when you go diving.

It was a perfect vacation. The cabins are comfortable, the boat was beautiful, the food was authentic and delicious. It was the crew that made the experience perfect. Everyone was kind, professional, enthusiastic. You can tell they enjoy and take pride in their work. They want to share these dive sites and make the trip a positive and enjoyable one. No amount of atmosphere can make up for what a dedicated and invested staff brings to the experience and they are what made my vacation so wonderful. I am so very grateful for them

Great experience
First time liveaboard. Has to say it was even better than I expected. Everyone on the boat was very friendly, the staff were helpful and had prepared everything. They claimed that they had the best food among all the boats in Thailand, which can be true. Thanks to the cute chef we had tons of yummy food in between all the dives. Dive masters are very professional and made dives quite smooth. Basically they did all the things for us so all we had to do is enjoying the trip. I do recommend the boat even though the submarine world was not so colorful due to the warm water during the low season. I believe there would be a much more beautiful world waiting to be explored during the high season.

A Great Diving Experience, Cool boat, Excellent Team
Highlights of the trip include the genuine happiness of the entire crew, along with the professionalism of the dive leaders. The Junk itself is tremendous. It was incredibly clean and well maintained and the cabins were comfortable and cool. Everything just seemed to work. The best diving was on Richelieu Rock where we saw schooling jacks, schooling barracuda, healthy soft corals, and a myriad of reef fish. Sea horses and nudibranchs were also seen on nearly every dive. The water was warm and the visibility was fantastic. The under water topography at Elephant Head site in the Similans included huge granite boulders which made for fun swim-throughs. We missed out on Mantas and Whale Sharks this trip but overall is highly recommended for experienced divers who want a stress free diving holiday.

Fantastic experience that lived up to all expectations both above and under water.
Highlights have to be the three dives on the Western Ridge where we saw oceanic mantas on all three occasions and the three dives on Richelieu Rock where the diversity and condition of marine and coral life is simply mind boggling. They are unforgettable life changing experiences that we’re privileged to have.

The Junk is just the most perfect boat to sail around the Andaman Sea hoping from island to island in the Similan/Surin chain whilst enjoying the most amazing diving experiences. Amazing boat and Crew
Let me start by saying that the Crew are absolutely amazing, very helpful with the equipment, helping me without being asked and always smiling and happy. The food was superb and varied and plentiful and a great touch was a different drink handed to you with a smile as soon as you got back into the boat from your dive.. I had the pleasure to have Chock as my dive guide and he was great !! - professional, very personable, very helpful and knowledgeable and an all round a really nice guy who clearly loves what he does. Thankyou Chock for helping me with my fins every dive and for all the videos. The cabins perhaps are not 5* luxury but it’s a dive boat with a lot of character and history and all you do is sleep in the room, so it’s still perfect.. Boat has 2 ribs that are used to pick is divers up from where we surface and take us back to the boat so minimal effort form end of dive to being back on the boat. . So I think to summarise, with such an amazing crew, you can’t go wrong and would 100% recommend a liveaboard on the Junk! 10/10.

- spending a whole day on Richelieu Rock - My dive buddy group was very well organized by the dive staff - safety was a great concern and well executed by the Dive Team - thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I would go again!

Safety remains the priority at all times.Professional crew: exhaustive briefings before each dive, a lot of help (equipment management, putting on/taking off wetsuits, ...) allow the 4 dives / day to pass. Awesome Liveaboard Trip on The Junk!
Just got back from the most amazing liveaboard trip on The Junk, and I have to share how awesome it was! From the moment we stepped on board, we felt right at home thanks to the friendly crew who were super welcoming. Seriously, the crew was fantastic! They were always around to help with our dive gear, answer questions, and just make sure we were having the best time. Their laid-back vibe made everything feel so relaxed and enjoyable. Let’s talk about the food—wow! Every meal was a treat. We had everything from fresh seafood to local dishes, and it was all so delicious. It was the perfect way to refuel after a day of diving. Plus, sharing meals with everyone on board was a great way to bond and swap stories. Our dive guide was a rock star! Super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the underwater world, they made sure we were all comfortable and safe while exploring. Each dive was well-planned, and the sites were absolutely stunning. The vibe on The Junk was just perfect. It was super chill and friendly, which made it easy to connect with other guests. Whether we were lounging on the deck, enjoying a drink under the stars, or diving in the beautiful waters, every moment felt special. Overall, my trip on The Junk was an unforgettable adventure filled with great service, tasty food, and an awesome atmosphere. If you’re looking for a unique experience, I can’t recommend this enough. an unforgettable experience I will definitely repeat in the future
The incredibly friendly, funny and routined crew on board made our life on the Junk as easy and comfortable as possible and supported us any time with everything they could do to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Rental equipment on board was good, crew members can handle any required maintenance or adaptation, if required, very well. Diving sites, dive group sizes and dive guides were very experienced and made every dive into another interesting discovery tour. Living on The Junk for this one week was an unforgettable experience. The sleeping cabin was very nice, clean and comfy. Best of all: the incredibly delicious food on board that was freshly cooked and differed every day. Also for vegan and vegetarian guests the selection of meals was excellent.
