The Junk is a historic liveaboard that offers a unique experience, combining the charm of a traditional wooden ship with modern comforts, while taking divers on adventures around the Similan and Surin Islands. The Junk accommodates 18 divers in 6 fully air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom and hot shower. Choose from private, three-berth, or four-berth cabins to suit your preferences. The boat has a shaded dive deck, personal set-up areas, and the option for Nitrox diving.
This 33-meter authentic wooden sailing vessel has its claim to fame: It has been used in several films, including James Bond’s “The Man With The Golden Gun” and "Swiss Family Robinson."
Enjoy buffet-style meals with fresh local ingredients and warm Thai hospitality. When not diving, unwind in the air-conditioned salon, watch a movie, or explore nearby islands on a kayak. Excellent experience in every way!
We loved our time on the Junk; the dive operations were excellent (organization/logistics, safety etc), the planning was great, the food was awesome, yes, all good. The boat didn't have a ton of different areas to hang out, so it's definitely extravert territory, but all in all it was a very positive experience.

Relaxation
Crew does their best to make the days really nice. The boat itself has charm and it's all very relaxed. But you can tell the boat's interior is old - everything is very dark also because of the wood and the cabins are simple. You have to be prepared for that, then you can enjoy a relaxed diving holiday.

I would totally do it again!
Great experience, very nice route! The crew took very good care of us. The dives were planned really well, and we enjoyed ourselves a lot! It was also cool to be on the boat with so much history 😊

Excellent!
Very well managed all the way from pick-up at aiport to drop-off after the cruise. Very friendly staff and dive guides. Excellent mix of Thai and western food (4 meals per day between each dives). 4 dives/day including 1 night dive and 2 dives on last day.

Best liveaboard!
Amazing week aboard The Junk! A boat with a lot of charm and a crew worthy of the name! The dives were amazing respecting safety first throughout the trip! The cabins were ok, although old but you can't expect better given the historical side of the boat! I will do it again with great pleasure! The Junk wins the prize of my liveabord!

an unforgettable experience I will definitely repeat in the future
The incredibly friendly, funny and routined crew on board made our life on the Junk as easy and comfortable as possible and supported us any time with everything they could do to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Rental equipment on board was good, crew members can handle any required maintenance or adaptation, if required, very well. Diving sites, dive group sizes and dive guides were very experienced and made every dive into another interesting discovery tour. Living on The Junk for this one week was an unforgettable experience. The sleeping cabin was very nice, clean and comfy. Best of all: the incredibly delicious food on board that was freshly cooked and differed every day. Also for vegan and vegetarian guests the selection of meals was excellent.
