These Guys Are Pros!
They may seem like a group of friendly and welcoming scuba guys – and they are! – but underneath that is a very dedicated, organized and highly skilled team of professionals. All of the logistics were handled effortlessly. Dive briefings were clear and comprehensive. Dive groups were small so that guides could keep track of their divers and offer assistance if necessary. Food was great. And the boat crew was tireless and efficient. I was on Manta Queen 8 and Mark was an excellent tour leader. My dive guide Daniel was terrific––great dives, all. And I am confident all of the others were excellent as well. If I come back to Thailand, Khaolak Scuba Adventures is my first stop.

Average diving in average ship for average price
The ship in general is clean and spacious. But I cannot say it was comfortable. Sundeck is inappropriate for having a rest - it is full of the outdoor units of air conditioners which are installed in each cabin. There are no any deck chairs and you can only lie on the floor and breathe the evaporated air coming from air conds. The food sometimes was very poor, no vegetarian option. But of course, we were not starving. After 3 days cereals and cookies ran out. The cabin was ok (if not count leaking sink) but it was not possible to open the windows. There is an aircond in the cabin but if you are diving usually you will prefer to sleep with aircond off to avoid congestion. So the open window is preferred but in this case was not possible. In general if you come to dive all of these minor issues are not so noticeable. But also I cannot not mention that some dive guides were recently certified padi instructors with lack of practical experience and many of the dive sites were unknown to them. I hope that this feedback can really serve to improve something on this boat. I’m not sure what was the reason of all these issues, maybe the price which was comparatively less than other available options. Anyway even with less comfort on board because of cheaper price, the expertise of the dive guides cannot be neglected as this is the safety of divers. Having experience with other liveaboards I would say that Manta queen 8 is not the one I would like to repeat.

Best experience I've had so far in my life.
Mark and his team were very professional. Wake up call was followed by a detailed brief of what each dive entailed(this calmed my nerves each morning as I was relatively new to diving). The staff were there to help us on with all our gear and make sure we were all safe and secure. We saw a whale shark and manta ray on our trip including countless fish and sea creatures. Already looking forward to my next liveaboard.

- This was my first liveaboard trip and hopefully plenty mpre to come. Although I have nothing to compare it to - staff, facilities and diving were amazing.

Memories and friends for life!
Our liveaboard experience with MQ8 was overall very very good. Great diving in every way: dive masters, instructors, dive briefings and service from the boat-boys made the whole experience very smooth and felt luxurious for us that previously only have gone for day trips when diving. Getting to know the crew and your gear was very nice. We were lucky enough to see both Manta Ray and Reef Shark around Koh Bon/Koh Tachai. Marvellous aquatic life such as huge schools of jackfish and barracuda, and not to mention a palm sized sea horse at 30m depth at Richeliou Rock. We made memories and friends for life, so happy we did this. Great great great value for money! Love from Sweden!
