Similan & Surin Islands adventure
Unfortunately we missed out on any Whaleshark and Manta action, however still had a great overall experience on the MQ7. We were very well looked after by all of the dive guides, trip leader (Georgio / JZ) and especially the amazing Alyssa Mitchell. Alyssa was amazing spotting very hard to find marine creatures and allowing us to get up close for a look and photos if we wanted them. Alyssa supported us in obtaining NITROX certification and developing our skills to make best use of our ability and certification to experience the very best of each dive site. The Captain was humble and highly skilled, getting us over each site everytime and quickly retrieving us with prompt assistance from the boat crew. There was a variety of delicious food served after each dive, and plenty of water and electrolytes available to keep us hydrated.

Excellent Trip- Worth the experience
We loved the diving, crew, the divemasters and the service. The dive sites are beautiful. We went diving in some of the most amazing and healthy coral reefs we had ever seen. The cabins could be more comfortable and so could the eating area, however the food and service was great. I do wish and recommend the boat reduce its use of one-use plastics. They are talking about conservation but not applying it in their own company.

Good choice for a diving liveaboard in Similian
Manta Queen is a good choice for a diving liveaboard in the Similian area. The company operates several boats; it is professional and the diving instructors, guides and crew were great. There was good planning and efficient execution of dives, with the guests split in two groups (with sub-groups of 2-3 divers per guide) to reduce the mess at the diving deck. On my trip the boat was at only about half of the occupancy, so it didn't feel too crowded (would probably be a lot at full capacity); the rooms are very small and I was happy to have a room for myself, it was simple but clean and comfortable for one person. The food was ok, I got pescatarian dishes, but in general options were limited and not too healthy. On the positive side, I loved that there was plenty of electrolytes to keep hydrated between dives. I also appreciated the complimentary pick-up and drop-off in Phuket. I've been in better boats elsewhere, but I have also been to a different one in Similian before and Manta Queen is among the best in this area.

Super experience
* The development as a diver (made the advanced course on the trip) * The meeting with Waleshark and Manta Rays * The great guidance by the divemaster taking us to fantastic sites and during conditions that builds both confidence and creates the need for more diving experiences.
