Great first liveaboard experiencs!
Amazing! I can not say enough good things about their staff and dive masters. I wish I had known in advance to bring more cash with me on the boat. Also there seems to be a disconnect between liveaboard.com and the boat. I spent a large amount of time filling out forms and the boat crew did not have any of it when I arrived. However overall a fantastic experience and a really good time!

The crew and staff were incredibly professional, fun and expert--I am truly grateful for all of their hard work and efforts to keep us safe, fed, entertained and in the best diving conditions possible
The diving was incredible, despite some bad visibility--the crew made incredible efforts to make sure we had the best (and most exclusive) dive sites, conditions and timing as was possible. The dive crew made sure we were always safe and helped us in and out of the water seamlessly--they were super fun and helpful; the captain was excellent, all drops were perfectly executed and the voyage was super smooth and enjoyable, the ship is very comofrtable. The food was fantastic always--the chef made great efforts to adapt to my non-pork diet, which was super appreciated. Overall, 5 stars for the crew and staff, it was an incredible experience I will never forget! Mahalo nui loa!!

Safe and Fun
The boat had great authentic dishes, all the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful would be an understatement. The dive guides were great, we were split into a small group of 4 divers to 1 guide and Steve went slow so you could really take in the views without a fear of getting left behind. Not to mention that the transfers to and from the boat was really great since we didn't know our way around Phucket and its one less thing to worry about. Also we never expected anything for Christmas, going on the liveaboard with something to do on Christmas was the gift, but the crew pulled out all the stops and got ALL of us warpped presents (34 presents) and a made a turkey dinner! I would definitely recommend this boat and this staff.

HIGHLY recommend this boat and crew
Although the diving and the guides/crew were amazing and all worked super hard and went above and beyond, the MVP for me was the chef. Truly ruined me for Thai food for the rest of the trip it was so good. The variety and quality was top notch. The dive sites were amazing too with a lot of variety. As exhausted as I was each day, I don't know how the guides and crew do what they do. They worked so hard and did a superb job. I felt safe and welcome.

A few hiccups but overall a great trip!
Overall we had a great trip! However the renderings of the refit didn’t really match how the cabins looked. We were all a little disappointed only because we had different expectations. There was a lot of exhaust smoke from the generator or engine that blew into our room so it felt like we were breathing it in anytime we were in the room. Most of the trip the boat leaned quit a bit to one side. Not sure why. Also it seemed very disorganized when we first boarded. There wasn’t enough equipment for people that were renting therefore people were left with BCs that didn’t fit or fins that didn’t fit. There should be better communication between the office and crew so that these items are available and ready for those renting. Also we were told that we could pay for our rental equipment with a credit card by the office but then on the the boat we were told we couldn’t so we had to use an ATM when we got off the boat. Lastly we paid for the master suite but when we boarded we were told that other parties had already booked the master cabin and we were put in a smaller room. Again, communication seems to be lacking. A helpful tip - if you only have your open water certification consider getting your advanced certification. They will not allow you to dive deeper than 60’ (which are the limits of the open water certification) unless you are advanced. You can get your advanced certification on board for an additional fee.

all you could want to know
I had a very positive experience on the Deep Andaman Queen and can recommend it without reservation. As context, I had not been on a “liveaboard” before therefore had little idea what to expect. This is like dive boot camp with 14 dives in 3.5 days. It’s dive, eat, dive, nap, dive, eat more, dive, eat, night dive, sleep, repeat. I thought I could skip the first dive but quickly learned this was a group experience and you stick with program. This is likely the norm for all liveaboards. After getting with the program and adjusting my mindset to the group mentality, I definitely want to do it again and will seek out the Deep Andaman Queen. Diving: The diving program was excellent. Steve, the head of the program, is a talented and natural leader. He’s in control, enforces safety, and is an effective communicator. Diving itself was great. I hear the Similan Islands are only “above average” diving but for me, with little to compare to, I loved it. We saw everything you could possibly dream of seeing. Steve is very vigilant on watching your level of dive experience and accommodating any requests. For example, I wanted to use a compass and he readily lent one to me on the honor system to return. Dive guide: I was very pleased with my Thai guide Charlie. He had a lot to deal with in me since I had open water certification 4 years ago and very little experience since then. He was great. He got me into tiptop dive shape again. My only comment was that after Dive 2, Charlie took over the camera work for the other couple in my group (who were great people and divers). From Dive 3-14, Charlie saw nothing if it wasn’t through the camera lens. I think we missed a lot of sea life while he was trying to get the perfect shot for the dive clients. Food: The food options were simple, fresh, healthy, and tasty. I had better Thai food on this boat than in restaurants in Phuket or Bangkok. There were plenty of Western options too. There was also plenty of vegetables. I liked the set up on the boat for communal eating too. Cabin: I slept well in three-person cabin number 2. This cabin probably was the worst on the boat in the belly of the ship. I see other reviews complained on noise from the engine, but I used ear plugs and an eye mask (essentials for good sleep in any travel situation). I thought it was fine. If I was in the least desirable cabin, the other cabins must only get better. The bathroom was quite generous in size too. Renting Gear: I ended up bringing my own mask, fins, and wet suit. I would just rent everything in hindsight. No need to bring your own gear. I recommend comparing rental prices with what Steve has in his paperwork vs what your booking agents quotes you for rental prices as it differs a bit. (In general, you need quite a bit of money for park fees, rental gear, the crew tip at the end, and any beer consumption.) Wifi: I didn't know the boat had wifi most of the time. It does. I think they're afraid to advertise wifi in case it fails. It’s a bonus, not a guarantee. Alcohol: The boat offers Thai beer. In the future, I might bring some wine or a bottle of gin for G&Ts, but be prepared to share. This is a communal experience. It would be weird to show up for dinner with a bottle of wine but not share it with the table. This is also not a boozy crowd. Boat: I liked the layout of the boat too. I had four different “go to” kindle read spots between dives and unlimited hot tea. There wasn't too much A/C which was great -- I was never cold except the dive briefings in a sealed off A/C room. I was never too hot either wishing for A/C. You step right off the boat for the dives. The only minor complaint was a very nice part of the boat was dedicated to smoking. I would ban smoking altogether, but the Thai crew definitely want to smoke somewhere. This a quality experience done right. Thank you Deep Andaman Queen.

Nice dive guides and crew but overvalued trip
The crew and the guides did a good job and were very kind and professional. The crew does not speak any english though. Not a problem as most of the times you can sort things out with the dive guides. For me the pictures on the website do not actually reflect the cabins and the boat. It is much more used, cabins smaller and older looking, some extremely loud (even delux ones) due to proximity and loudness of the engine and the generator. The food was a bit limited sometimes. The ship broke (water supply and the electricity) towards the end of the trip (luckily!) so we had to finish it prematurely (last day of diving didnt happen) and were taken back from the border with Myanmar with taxis. All in all a bit average, especially if I compare it to the past experience in Egypt for half the price!

- Good crew and guides, nice company, some diving sites were amazing
Great crew, noisy boat, fair diving.
This trip is over rated. The diving in the Burma area is fair at best. The area appears to have been over fished with few, if any, big fish remaining. There are many fishing boats near the dive sites. Lots of net and fishing debris on some of the reefs. The dive sites are ok but nothing spectacular. The Deep Andaman Queen is a roomy boat and the dive area is set up well. However, the noise and heat from the engines below deck was almost unbearable. Because thedive sites are far apart, we spent much of each night motoring. The roar and vibrations from the engines made sleeping difficult. On the plus side, the boat crew were great and very friendly. Same for the dive guides. The meals were good and plentiful.

Absolutely incredible I could not find one thing to complain about
The boat crew and dive guide need to be congratulated on how well they ran the boat and the diving. Specifically, Steve the head guide, he was incredible, always helpful, informative, friendly, safety conscious and fun. He really made the trip in my eyes could not have asked for better people. The guide I had on the dives Liane was fantastic pointing out marine life I would have never spotted on my own, keeping an eye on us without smothering us and giving us the space to enjoy the dive yet always being there when needed. The boat crew were so helpful and most of the little things they did were so minor but so so helpful when getting kitted up or getting back on the boat. The food was good and there was always plenty of it. Could not complain about anything for the entire trip. Great time and was sad to leave the boat. Highly recommended.

Good boat and good dive sites
The boat is good but seems a little bit old, but is ok. The sun burns at the dive platform and the bed clothes and bathroom could be better. A little bit expensive for what you get. A/C only in the bedroom. The food is good, the crew were fantastic. Wifi you need to ask to dive guide share his internet connection. The dives are very good but some sites with poor visibility, dead fishs from dinamite fishing, a lot of nets and fishing lines. We saw manta ray in 4 of 4 dives at Black Rock in Myanmar, was awesome.

Beyond any great expectation!
It was our first Liveaboard and we were searching for a compromise between life in a resort and life on a boat. We definitely found it here, thanks to a great room quality standard (master cabin) and a service that has always been very prompt and efficient. Despite we had only 40 dives background, we always felt safe and enjoyed each single dive, thanks to very professional briefings and guides. Several good dive spots, with few ones not really special. Anyway we are sure that thanks to this crew - a good mix of Thai and international - we took out the best also from those. Food was excellent to be on a boat. Organization too. We missed life on the boat since we landed at our resort for following days. Can’t wait to be back!

Great first liveaboard experience
I went in January 2020 with Deep Andaman Queen to Similan & Surin Island Marine Parks. It was my first liveaboard and being a solo traveller I was a bit apprehensive. However the boat was comfortable (but one has to get used to sleeping on a boat!) and clean with a very attentive crew. They did a commendable job of herding us away from the crowds, fine tuning the itinerary so that we felt we were diving by ourselves. Boat was full but we were divided into two groups that made entries directly from the boat. Diving groups were small - generally 3-5 people (because one of the divemasters took ill). Equipment was good and briefings were well done. Saw loads of stuff including a whale shark. Visibility was not great all the times but Mike (my divemaster) did a great job showing us stuff whether big or small. Overall it was a great experience and if I am diving in Thailand again would definitely go with them again. The Liveaboard team was also very prompt and helpful with bookings and queries.
