Fantastic experience for our first liveaboard experience
Diving the similan islands, meeting the crew and various dive instructors, experiencing a liveaboard for the first time!

- Jona was a fantastic dive instructor, great dive sites in the similan islands, my girlfriend was able to complete her advanced open water certification.
The BMW of Liveaboards....literally!!
From seamless checkin to making the arrangements for post dive transportation with gear....Bavaria MV hit all the marks with perfection. Marco, Marcos, Christie, Ube and Frenchy (and the rest) are all masters of their craft in diving and service.

Great time on the Barvaria
This was our first Liveaboard and we loved it. I was concerned that I would feel cramped and didn’t feel Like this in the least bit! The dives were very well organized and we weren’t on top Of each other.

Great experience!
This was an amazing trip! We saw tons of underwater life, including octopuses, whale sharks, lobster, crabs, eagle rays, shrimp, eels, snakes, cuddle fish, and many others. The best dive site of the trip was definitely Richelieu Rock. Food was great, and crew were very helpful and friendly. My husband got his advanced open water certificate. Only thing that wasn’t five star was the comfort of the rooms. The AC went out sporadically, and by the third day our bathroom smelled a bit from the marine plumbing system. But this is a very minor complaint. Overall great experience and great value for money. This trip cost approximately half of what we have paid for similar liveaboards on the Great Barrier Reef.

First Liveaboard experience and it didn't disappoint
Richelieu Rock was amazing. The seas were rough, so we couldn't complete all dives at this location, but the area was teeming with life. The night dive with Black Tip Reef Sharks did not disappoint.

The Right Attitude
We took a short trip (3-4 days) as an intro to L/As for one of us, and re-intro for another. We also opted to “upgrade” our dive-certifications by taking a class from an instructor on-board. We appreciated the diving schedule which offered 4 dives plus snorkeling opportunities each day. This was welcome because it is easy to over-do it on a L/A. The crew was so incredibly kind, helpful, intuitive, efficient and experienced. Food was delicious and bountiful; not fancy-schmancy…just savory, diverse, fresh, wholesome goodness. We noticed right away that the Similan Islands have been well visited, and dived…but still saw many interesting critters. The dive masters were incredibly knowledgeable, and most important: patient. We came away feeling rewarded and completely satisfied with the experience, gained certification as ‘advanced’ open-water divers, had a great time, met many people from all-over the world, and would have no hesitation doing it all again.

Great week!
The boat was well maintained but the cabins left a bit to be desired. The beds were like rocks and we got towels for blankets. The dive crew were great and the Thai crew were fun but you could tell there was some conflict between them in regards to diver safety which should be addressed immediately. The trip director Gerben addressed any issues that came up and was great to deal with. The food was abundant and amazing!! The diving was good although not as good as I was expecting. The visibility and landscape were incredible but there was a pretty evident lack of marine life that I assume is because of overfishing which was a bit sad. Coral bleaching has also done a number on the reefs. We did see a whale shark which was pretty special!

Fun trip with friendly crew and divers but bad visibility...
Very impressed with the cleanliness of the boat and organization of the diving trips. Communication between staff were great and tripe were operated smoothly. Really enjoyed meeting diverse group of people with interesting backgrounds and experiences. Diving was not as good as expected especially the visibility and did not see much marine life as I though I would but the dive master, Freshy ensured our safety and looked after our group well. Plus was awesome waking up to freshly baked bread in the morning! Thank you everyone for making this trip satisfactory.

Amazing experience for our first live aboard trip!
We really enjoyed our first live aboard trip! The boat The Bavaria is perfect for diving and relaxing :) The tour was very well organized and we felt safe every minut. The boat is big with more relaxing areas which are perfect between dives. We were served delicious food and had water, soft drinks, electrolyte water easily and free available which helped us fast recovering after dives so we could perform all 10 dives in 3 days. Unfurtunately we had cold sea water with bad visibility which was unusual for the period, but everything else perfect!

Goods and bads
The trip had both good and bad. The boat was overall really good with room for all guest to laze about between dives and a shaded sun deck. The cabins were very small though, and there was absolutely no room to put personal belongings. Definitely pick ensuite as the two communal bathrooms are shared by four guests and all staff. The diving in the Similans was really disappointing, but the islands to the north made up for that plentiful.

Laid back holidays with flexible organisation, friendly staff and knowledgeable crew, and a lot of mantas
Relaxing six days on Bavaria, although we packed in four dives a day, including sunset or night dives. I appreciated the passion of the dive guides for their trade, the simple but good Thai food (plus Wiener Schnitzel), the helpful staff, the optional outdoors sleep overnight. I loved the smaller dive sites around the Similan Islands for their tranquility and occasional big finds, but of course it is difficult to override Cousteau's Richelieu Rock, and Koh Bon.

Great diving and boat crew. Filthy room
Positive: Great 12 dives, including probably one of the best dives in the world: Richelieu Rock. Surin and Similan are good but you can see how the bleaching is affecting the corals and therefore the rest of the marine life. Boat crew were great, from the captain, to the kitchen staff, guides and the rest of the team. The food was very good quality and abundant. Always available inmediatly after diving. Negative: Room very dirty (Walls, ceiling, toilet, ...) and smelly due to the humidity of the lower floor. The bed linen and towels supplied were slighly wet and filthy. On my opinion the room was quite overpriced. No wifi on the boat.

Nice trip and the best diving that Thailand has to offer!
The boat crew are extremely helpful and efficient in getting divers into and out of the water. You can really see that they have been at this for a long time and everything on the boat is well thought out with regards to diving. Briefings are thorough and it was nice to be able to visit some of the white beaches of the islands between dives. Richelieu Rock offers some of the best diving we have ever experienced. The diversity there is amazing. Big stuff, small stuff and everything in between, it's all there. The diving at Richelieu is simply spectacular. At times it felt like we were diving in fish soup and it was hard to see the corals from all the fish. We would gladly do this liveaboard again in the future.

Excellent Crew and amazing food
An international group of divers. The boat crew were excellent and could not be helpful enough. The food was amazing. The diving was good but not much pelagic action. The reefs are good with good coral and sea life, lots of little things to see. Not much current and visibility was good. Diving was both from the main boat and zodiacs. Cabins are small, recreation areas were good with good shade on the sun deck. I would recommend this boat

I was the odd man out of my German speaking group and that only made me more popular with my fellow divers. I had a blast following my camera buddies underwater and having them point me towards every lady nudibranch in Thailand. The crew on Bavaria was incredible, it was essentially a resort at sea. I can’t wait until my next dive trip with them.
