Highlights
Operating since 1998, MY Resolute is one of the longest-running liveaboard vessels in the Philippines. With a highly experienced crew on board, the boat visits Tubbataha from March to June. This UNESCO heritage site offers pristine dive conditions and shark sightings on almost every dive, with the chance of encountering white tip, grey reef, nurse, and hammerhead sharks. From July- to October, M/Y Resolute relocates to the island of Cebu for diving in the Visayas to see whale sharks, thresher sharks, and colorful critters. The ship then navigates to Apo Reef, offering the chance to dive with hammerheads, reef sharks, and other pelagic life.
Topside, the MY Resolute liveaboard caters to just 16 guests. There are 8 comfortable cabins available, each with individually controlled AC and en-suite bathrooms. Meals are served in the open-air dining room, and dinner is usually a five-course buffet consisting of 2 meat dishes, 1 seafood, soup, and vegetables. Special dietary requirements are catered to with advance notice. The ship's bow offers loungers and is a great place to soak up the sun, and the indoor salon offers a cool area with an entertainment system and a camera room. The large dive deck is located at the back of the boat and offers ample space for kitting up and individual gear storage.

Great trip in Tubbataha!
We had an amazing week on the Resolute in Tubbataha. Besides the diving being spectacular, the boat was very comfortable and the staff were all amazing. The beds were great, AC in our room worked well, and the private bathrooms were nice with hot showers every day. The rented dive gear was all very good and the food each night was fun and of different varieties. Special shoutout to Karla, for being an amazing boat manager and nicest person ever, Josh, for being a great DM, and Joan for doing everything behind the scenes to make it a great trip. 10/10 recommend!

Diving in the Philippines is really beautiful
Apart from the fact that due to a breakdown of one of the boat's equipment, we were not able to complete the planned diving program, the dives were very good.

Awesome diving and the best liveaboard experience
As expected, diving in Tubbataha was amazing. Healthy coral reefs with thousands of fishes, sharks and mantas. They are doing a great job protecting and managing these reefs! In addition, everything was excellent on board. Starting with the food: I'm vegetarian and they prepared delicious vegetarian food for us in every meal. I loved that the food is served on an exterior covered deck (instead of having lunch and dinner inside the boat as in other liveaboards), and the upper deck is great for taking naps! The Resolute has a lot of space to chill between dives and spacious cabins with comfy beds. The crew was also 5 stars, helpful and friendly, and the dives were really well guided with our safety being always the first priority. So what else do you want? 200% recommended!

Everything perfect
It was all great, especially the crew and guides made the atmosphere unbeatable, the food spectacular and the perfect dives, the best coral I've ever seen, sharks and life everywhere. The owner of the boat came on the trip, a very kind and nice guy. I would repeat without hesitation, highly recommended. Thanks for everything.

Great diving at unique divesites on a great boat with amazing Crew!
Traveling with MV Resolute means having a great time. I was on the Apo reef, Coron wrecks and the Dugong observation trip. Apo Reef is an amazing reef with beautiful coral gardens in the middle of the Zulu Sea. Coincidentally, the Manta also visited us during our dives. After that we dove in the ship graveyard before Coron. A journey into the past, now full of marine life. But the very next day we had an appointment with the protected dugongs from Calauit island. A feeling of happiness diving with them... goosebumps... Shortly before disembarking, the last dives in the Isla Verde Strait .. perfect end to a great diving trip with MV Resolute. I can recommend it.

Our oasis in the Philippines
The liveaboard offers the possibility to see very different parts of the Philippines in a short time. The fact that we did not go with a full boat, provided us with convenience and comfort on the cruise, having all the spaces for us. The food is truly exceptional and very filling. It makes the saying of Dive, Eat, Sleep, Repeat true. The beers aren't especially cheap by what the country's prices are, but they're very appealing after the last dive of the day. The dive is led by expert and very safe guides (as a critic I would say that they cut everything by the yardstick of the advance. They do not adapt to more experienced levels nor do they change the profiles of the diving, preventing divers with a higher level from doing an exploration different from the one they propose). The boats with which they take us to the dive sites are correct and comfortable and with the sailors willing to help. The diving is on walls, with gentle currents, wrecks, no deep penetration and a lot of reef of exceptional quality and very well preserved. Regarding the organization of the trip, it is convenient to fly to Manila and make the transport to Batangas to board (about 2-2.5 hours south). There are many hours of navigation some days and others with 4 dives (starting at 7 and ending at 17h) a bit intense, in my opinion there are already 4 dives in the liveaboard, but the 4th is about 20-21 hours and on the days of 2 they are few. I recommend nitrox (although we don't use it) for days of 4 dives, as it contributes in bottom times and less fatigue. Dives at Apo Reef are highly recommended. The ones in the wrecks of Coron, are (in my opinion) insufficient and the ones in Puerto Galera if you like reef diving, is exceptional, but you can do them all from shore.Overall, we are very happy to have done this tasting in the Philippines and it gives us an idea of what is there and where we want to come back from.

A great time for all!
I absolutely loved this trip, Karla, Gilbert, Josh and the other staff were incredible. The dive briefings were always thorough and I always felt in good hands. The highlight for me was diving with the whalesharks - we were really lucky with this. Expect to see big schools of fish, reef sharks and lovely coral. The food was also amazing - thanks Chef! The rooms are on the smaller side, but each have AC and an ensuite. Drinks are on the pricier side - so if you like wine - BYO! Overall, this was a fantastic trip, massive thanks to Karla and Gilbert!
