Great diving in Tubbataha
Amazing dives in Tubbataha. Saw beautifully protected soft and hard corals and ~10 sharks on average for every dive. Whalesharks and mantas were the highlight of the trip. Also can see napoleon wrasse, turtles, and plenty of reef sharks. The most amazing chef cooked meals for all 7 divers with a wide range of dietary restrictions, from my vegan roommate to gentlemen who loved some real meat. Local dive guides with excellent knowledge of all the dive sites. Now, there were some serious communication problems during the booking process. Not sure if it was due to liveaboard.com or the boat operator or both, but there were many times when I was given contradicting information regarding transportation availability, rental gear availability and gear pricing. I had to make sure that they confirm my requests were met and double check everything multiple times. In the end, they made things clear, but it took a very long time and I strongly advise everyone to contact the operator directly instead of using email communication with liveaboard.com. (No one seems to be fully in charge of one specific reservation. For me, more than 5 people got back to me with the same liveaboard.com email address.) At first I was told rental gear price was 400php/day/gear(BCD and reg), then it suddenly changed to 500php each (recent price increase, they said) and charge you for the ENTIRE trip, including the non-dive day. At this point I was so tired of fighting and didn’t want to argue so I paid whatever but it was annoying when I learned other divers paid 400. Apparently pricing for rental gear is different from person to person, depending on where/with whom you booked it. TBF It’s not a lot of money, but the miscommunication was evident. Overall, I recommend the boat and the dives but.. good luck with communication.
