The 27m Rocio del Mar liveaboard cruises through to the iconic dive areas of the Socorro Islands, Sea of Cortez, and Baja California and accommodates 20 guests in 10 comfortable staterooms spread over two decks. It offers divers the choice of 3 itineraries, depending on the time of year. All the rooms have private air conditioning, carpets, windows, storage space, and en-suite bathrooms. Meals and snacks are served in the large dining area in the lower deck's forward part and are available throughout the day. Al fresco dining and vegan options are available too. There are many relaxation spots on the boat, but the sundeck/top deck or the upper deck salon are favorites among the guests. Rocio Del Mar also has a spacious dive deck for storing all diving gear and a camera table for avid photographers.
Scuba diving off the Rocio Del Mar in Mexican waters is a treat. Socorro island is part of The Revillagigedo Islands, often referred to as Mexico's "Little Galapagos". The itinerary includes diving at San Benedicto, Socorro, Roca Partida, and Clarion Islands. These islands are a magnet for some of the largest pelagic animals in the world, with schooling Hammerhead sharks that come in the hundreds during their migration. Tiger sharks, dolphins, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, schools of jacks and barracuda, tuna, wahoo, oceanic white tips sharks, whale sharks, and mantas are some charismatic megafaunas that can be spotted here. All dives are led by experienced divemasters who are enthusiastic about sharing their underwater world, and the diving takes place from two pangas or skiffs.

Sea Lions and Whale Sharks
Best parts were diving and interacting with the sea lions. We also had a long snorkel with the Whale Sharks which was quite memorable. The crew was fantastic and food was very good too. In addition black coral forests were fantastic along with nudibranchs and other sea life. Overall an excellent trip.

Folicking Fun
The crew was excellent in helping us enjoy this wonderful ecosystem. When a superpod of common dolphins were close, after diving, they took us out in the Zodiaks (Pangas) to snorkle with them and see them up close. Great crew, Yummy Food, Incredible Action!
The marine life action was the highlight! We had many encounters with friendly mantas and dolphins. Lots of hammerhead action with big school sightings frequent. Crew was friendly and helpful. The food was tasty. Highly recommend thus trip.

The diving experience was superb, the dive guides were knowledgeable and friendly, the crew was very helpful.
The biggest highlights were definitely the variety of life we saw - oceanic mantas, dolphins, schools of hammerhead sharks, and don’t forget the whipper snappers! The crew was very friendly and helpful, happy to be on the boat with us. The food was fantastic and plentiful. All in all a wonderful trip I would repeat in a heartbeat.

Unbelievable amenities and crew!
The crew was very welcoming and seemed to work together seamlessly. They made sure you always had everything you needed. Dives were great, we got 22 completed by the end of the trip. Could see humpback whales from the boat, dove with dolphins, schooling hammerheads and countless manta rays who were very friendly. Trip of a lifetime!

Sea lions in the Sea of Cortez
The captain and crew were fantastic. My bag containing my dive gear was left at Heathrow by American Airlines but the crew and other guests rallied to ensure I had enough gear to continue with the trip. The captain even loaned me his own wetsuit. Fantastic trip.

Exactly as mentioned above, the diving was incredible in the Socorro islands, the food on the boat was truly impressive, and the dive masters and support crew went above and beyond to help with gear, logistics, etc.

meeting with divers under water
21 dives at only 4 diving sites leads to always meet diving groups under water at the dive site. This encounters, that last up to 10, 15 minutes, takes precious diving time into meeting curtains of bubbles, flash lights and agitated, confused divers that mostly scares away the shy pelagics. Also being only boat at Roca Partida (where only 3 dives are permitted) we meet every dive with our other groups. This is a big pity bc the sites are incredibly filled with marine life. Curious Mantas will swim with you and many kind of different sharks will be around. Rocio takes 20 divers splitted in three groups. Their sister boat, Quino el Guardian, takes 15 divers. Don’t understand why they don’t manage at least not to be with their own two boats the same day at the same diving site? Having three or more boats at only one diving spot it’s just to much and it will not help to start diving in the cold dark water at 07:00 am in order to prevent under water diver meetings. Don’t understand why they don’t explore and offer more diving sites. Staff is incredibly hard working and very friendly!!’ Food is excellent, diverse and plenty! Logistics and cleanliness on board can be improved. 20 guests is a bit to much for the size of the boat, 14 will be perfect.

Spectacular for manta rays
Incredible experiences with Manta Rays who, on one of our dives, visited each person by flying directly overhead - 2 or 3 feet hoping for a bubble tickle. Awesome. A friendly dolphin also enjoyed repeated stroking. A lifetime experience.
