Custom-built for divers, the Nautilus Belle Amie ship is the largest of the Nautilus Liveaboards’ fleet. With amenities akin to a floating boutique hotel, and a reputation for offering high-level service on board, the Nautilus Belle Amie accommodates 32 guests in 17 en-suite staterooms and suites. On the lower deck are 8 twin staterooms plus one affordable triple occupancy stateroom. The main deck has 2 premium suites, and 6 superior suites are on the wheelhouse deck. Bedding in the suites can be converted to twins or doubles. All rooms also feature individually controlled air-conditioning.
On the main deck is a large salon and dining area, where a fusion of Mexican and West Coast North American food is served. All dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, food allergy options, and quasi-kosher, can be catered to with prior notice. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are buffet-style, and the evening meal is served plated buffet or family-style. There are two fully-stocked extensive bars on board, which include single malts, microbrews, and a large selection of wine. The large sun deck has space for everyone to enjoy lounging in the sun and a hot tub to warm up in-between dives or enjoy after diving with a drink and snack.
The heavy steel construction with stabilization of the Nautilus Belle Amie liveaboard means she was perfectly designed for ocean crossings to get divers to the world-class dive sites of the Socorro Islands or over to Guadalupe for up-close encounters with great white sharks. From November - June, the Socorro Islands are open to offering some of the best diving in the world. Friendly mantas, dolphins, humpback whales, pilot whales, and up to 10 species of shark are just some of the marine encounters the Socorro Islands offer. Or for those who want to get up close with great white sharks, the Guadalupe season offers from July - November each year. The large dive deck, onboard nitrox, and 3 large dive skiffs ensure an easy diving experience.

Exceptional Dive Crew Made This Trip Unforgettable
I had an incredible experience aboard the Nautilus Belle Amie for the Ultimate Whale Sharks in the Sea of Cortez trip from September 6–13, 2026. As a newer diver, I was especially impressed by the expertise, patience, and professionalism of the dive guides (a specific shout-out to Chema who was our main dive guide, who did so much to help me feel comfortable in the water). They did an excellent job setting clear expectations for each dive and making sure everyone understood the plan, while also encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone in a way that felt supportive rather than intimidating. I came away feeling much more confident as a diver. The service throughout the trip was excellent. I felt very well taken care of, from the diving and gear support to the ease of getting from place to place. I was honestly spoiled by how little I had to worry about my equipment. The crew handled so much of the gear logistics that I could simply focus on enjoying the dives. The dining service was also excellent, and having dinner service and a bar onboard made the overall experience feel especially comfortable and relaxing after a day of diving. My main area for improvement would be the accommodations. I paid for a three-person room and understood that I would be sharing with two people I didn’t know, but I was not expecting to be roomed with two men without any prior notification. As a young woman, I would have appreciated either being placed with other women or at least being informed beforehand so I could make an informed decision about the rooming arrangement. There were absolutely no problems with my roommates (they were both gentlemen) but I think advance communication would have made a significant difference. The room itself was also quite small, with very limited privacy. The bathroom did not have a true door, and the AC was inconsistent. I also encountered a loose shower drain and several loose structural beams that could use attention. Overall, though, the diving, guides, crew, service, food, and logistics were fantastic. As a newer diver, I felt supported while also being encouraged to grow, and that was one of the most valuable parts of the trip. I would happily return for another liveaboard. The accommodations just left some room for improvement.

Best whalesharks and sea lions experience
I enjoy diving with Nautilus Belle Amie, the boat is clean and the dives are conducted safely. I enjoyed the whale sharks and sea lions expeirence very much.I would highly recommend this trip.

Exceeded expectations!!
Just off the boat diving at Socorro with Nautilus on the Belle Amie and man, it did not disappoint! Firstly, the boat and the crew were exceptional. You could never go hungry on that boat, Chef Julio cooked up a storm every day and was the happiest person. Then all the different nationalities and ages of the passengers really made the experience. We were blessed to see giant mantas in abundance, white & silver tip sharks, Galapagos and hammers. The highlight for me was the whale shark who made an appearance 8 out of 8 times at one location. If you’re on the fence about booking it, just do it.

Whales sharks were the highlight of the trip and all stop were fun and educational.
Nautilus staffs the Belle Amie with a friendly, well trained crew. They made all the stops enjoyable and educational. The whale sharks were amazing to see and swim with. The Sea of Cortez is a rare gem in the world that few get to experience.

Trip of a Lifetime
Crew were so fun, very skilled and some, like David, went the extra mile making me feel welcome, saying hi when I was sitting by myself (I was there alone) and bringing my weights back to cubby every trip (we usually had to grab our own) and making an awesome video at end of the trip. The sea life was amazing and saw many things on my bucket list. Beds were super comfy too. Just a FANTASTICO trip all around.

Trip of a lifetime to see giant mantas!
A trip of a lifetime. Just an incredible experience. The boat was clean and very well kept. The crew was awesome. Ramon, the captain, was extremely involved and a great guy! All of the dive guides (you rotate between them every day) knew the dive sites very well and were great people. The hosts were awesome, especially Marlene with her always enthusiastic personality, were always looking to help you with every single task and waiting with drinks after each dives. The wildlife was of course always jaw dropping. We saw multiple mantas on pretty much every dive, “dancing” and “playing” with us. I will be back!

A wonderful and memorable experience!
I realized that a lot of people in the world are not privileged to see such large majestic creatures up close and safely, which made me appreciate the experience so much more. I also enjoyed my time being surrounded by nature and hearing the sounds of the sea, as this was truly therapeutic. The supportive and helpful crew, who took the initiative to reach out and engage with me, made all the difference as well. I took pictures with them and included them on my FB page. Of course, traveling with fellow guests-- who at first were strangers-- and learning about their unique backgrounds, their enthusiasm and passion for the sea and their utmost friendliness also made the experience fun.

Trip of a lifetime!
Just got back from Socorro on Nautilus Belle Amie and had an amazing trip. The crew were amazing from the start right through to the end of the trip. We saw many giant mantas, dolphins, at least 8 types of sharks, and much more. Could go on and on with what we saw on this trip. Would love to do it all over again some day!

The Belle Amie is the best of the best
This was our second trip on the Belle Amie and it did not disappoint! The crew is simply second to none and the boat is so comfortable. This was our first time diving sea of Cortez and while the water temperature didn’t cooperate so the big things went deeper, but we had so much fun at many of the dive sites with the sea lions. The captain went above and beyond setting up an ocean Safari day for us where we got in the water with pilot whales and a lovely wine and cheese sunset on a beach. We also got some time to snorkel with the sea lions, which was amazingCan’t wait to be back on board.
